LEGENDARY BROKEN PLAYER - VRMMORPG

Chapter 798 - 798 - They’re Not Alone

What an incredible performance. In the end, Broken emerged victorious against Elincia.

It had been a tricky fight, no doubt—Elincia knew a lot about his combat style and had even discussed strategies with Maylock beforehand to figure out ways to make things as difficult as possible for him.

Broken had secured his spot in the grand final against Frostedge, the ultimate showdown and the final battle of the Eternal Challenge Competition. This was the match everyone had been waiting for.

On one side, Broken had demonstrated incredible versatility and potential, proving himself to be a combat powerhouse throughout the tournament. On the other, Frostedge had yet to reveal anything truly extraordinary. He had fought—and won—every match without ever showing his full strength. It was almost like he had been intentionally holding something back, though no one knew why.

People knew him. They had seen him fight in the game. And the craziest part? Broken and Frostedge had once fought side by side, taking on Galactron together. They had also stood together in the war at Dissidia, but now, they would stand against each other.

This was it—the Grand Final of the Duel of Champions. A battle between two of the strongest contenders in Immortal Legacy.

**

That day, Hazel contacted Leon with something unexpected.

She had found a group of players exploring the same forest area they had been venturing through in the game.

Who were they?

Curious, Leon decided to log in. Back inside Immortal Legacy.

It was already nighttime in the forest.

The moment Broken set foot into the dense woodland, his sharp eyes quickly noticed SexyGrill standing nearby, partially hidden under the moonlit shadows. As soon as she saw him, she waved enthusiastically before jogging over with her usual energetic demeanor.

“Hi! You won against Elincia, right? That was a great match!” she said, her voice full of excitement.

“Thanks, Grill.” Broken nodded, then frowned slightly. “What was it you said earlier?”

SexyGrill’s expression turned more serious. “So, there’s a group of players, about forty of them.”

Broken had already shared access to his flying golem with SexyGrill, allowing them to take turns using it depending on who was logged into the game.

“Forty?” Broken raised an eyebrow. “That’s a lot. They’re nearby?”

She nodded repeatedly. “Yeah, not far from here. I don’t know what they’re doing, but their levels are all above 200.” Read latest chapters on My Virtual Library Empire

“That’s not normal.” Broken’s voice turned sharp.

Indeed, a group of forty high-level players wandering this deep into the forest wasn’t something you’d expect. Then again, what was even more abnormal was that only two players—one of whom wasn’t even level 200—were roaming around on their own.

“Yup… I think they’re looking for something around here,” SexyGrill replied.

Broken nodded slowly.

“Pawpaw, I have a job for you.”

Nearby, despite the darkness, a pair of glowing eyes flickered into view—Pawpaw.

He narrowed his eyes at Broken, clearly unimpressed. “What do you want?” he asked with his usual irritated tone.

“Scouting.” Broken kept it simple.

Pawpaw said nothing, but without hesitation, his figure vanished into the shadows, disappearing completely as he darted into the darkness.

Broken and SexyGrill had already spent about three weeks in this forest—or at least close to it. Their progress had been slower than expected, mostly because they had to sync their schedules, and Broken was also busy with his matches in the Eternal Challenge, while SexyGrill had to balance her time with school.

Now, they had ventured even deeper into the mountainous region, where the monsters roaming around were at least level 220. That wasn’t a small number, especially when dealing with groups of them at once.

Forget local NPCs venturing this far—they hadn’t even encountered a single player until now.

Even Broken and SexyGrill had adjusted their exploration strategy in this area, choosing to avoid combat whenever possible. The problem wasn’t fighting a single monster—it was that once a battle started, it never seemed to end. More monsters would be drawn in, and before they knew it, they’d be stuck in a nonstop battle loop.

So why were these forty players here?

Were they hunting? No, that didn’t make sense. The outer forest had just as many monsters, but they were easier to manage and had similar spawn rates—there was no reason to grind this deep into the wilderness.

That was why this whole thing was so suspicious.

A group of forty high-level players, all gathered here in the middle of nowhere—

Yeah, that was definitely something worth investigating.

After some time, Pawpaw finally discovered something. Without wasting a moment, Broken activated Shared Senses skill, allowing him to see through Pawpaw’s eyes.

The demon cat perched silently on a tree branch, gazing down at the scene below.

And there they were—the players.

There were dozens of them, a full-sized party with tankers, frontliners, and support players. Some were leaning against trees, others were eating, and a few were simply chatting with one another.

They were deliberately keeping themselves hidden in the darkness, knowing that any light source could attract monsters.

Broken focused, hoping to catch any useful conversation that might give them a clue. Most of what he heard, however, was just grumbling.

“Hua… I’m so exhausted, and I’m sick of this damn forest.”

“We’re getting deeper. It won’t be much longer now.”

“Like hell, we’ve already been here for two months. Damn it.”

“Would you stop complaining? We don’t have a choice—we have to complete this mission.”

Broken, still observing, turned his attention to SexyGrill and whispered, “Any chance you recognize them? You’re from the West Continent—maybe they’re from there too?”

SexyGrill furrowed her brows. “No… I don’t know them. Maybe they’re from a different city than mine… but I have no clue who they are.”

For some reason, Broken couldn’t shake off the suspicion that these players were somehow connected to the dragonkin. Was he just overthinking it?

Or rather—what if they weren’t connected to the dragonkin, but instead… were here to hunt them?

After all, dragonkin were an extremely rare race, with a long and complex history that made them a prime target for those seeking power, knowledge, or something more.

And if they really were searching for the dragonkin…

Then why?

Could they be working under the High Elf Queen?

Broken knew he might be jumping too far ahead, but one thing was certain—he couldn’t just let these players wander freely without knowing their true intentions.

For now, the best course of action was to stay close—not too close, but just near enough to observe them and uncover their purpose.

Besides, it wasn’t like they had found the dragonkin yet either. If these players were still wandering around, then they were likely just as lost as he was.

“What do you think they’re looking for, Grill?”

SexyGrill crossed her arms, her tone playful yet sharp. “Let me take a wild guess… they’re after the dragon princess too?”

Broken’s gaze hardened slightly. If that were true, then his earlier suspicion wasn’t just a stretch—it was a real possibility.

“If they’re looking for Ivana… that means they’re connected to the High Elf Queen.”

“Yeah,” SexyGrill nodded. “Because clearly, we’re not the only ones who thought Ivana might come here.”

He gave a slow nod. “For now, let’s stick to them. Stay close, gather information… and make sure they don’t detect us. If they see us as a threat, their numbers alone will make them a major problem.”

But—

Just as Broken was about to release his shared sense skill with Pawpaw, the demon cat suddenly tensed.

His ears flicked, his body lowered slightly, and his sharp gaze snapped upward.

Because at that moment—

Something was approaching.

From above.

Figures were flying in their direction.
