“Voss has been waiting for her to hatch for over a century. He is deeply obsessed with her, to the point where he values her as much as his life. If you were to hatch and make her your companion, an irreconcilable enmity would be formed between you and Voss.” Yulran Tragan’s lips stretched back into a smile, revealing his mouth full of sharp teeth. Roy rubbed his eyes and looked at him again. His ancestor seemed to be smirking. “So, answer me, oh descendant of mine, will you man up and save her from Voss, or will you turn your back to her like the many before you?!”

Roy closed his eyes, scoffing, “I have offended him once. So nothing changes if I offend him again or a hundred more times. Besides, I have already considered her my lifelong companion beast. I won’t let a trash like Voss have her!”

“You are going to take her away even if you fail to hatch her?” Yulran raised widened his draconian eyes at Roy.

Their eyes met, and Roy spoke.

“You already know what my answer is going to be.”

Yulran nodded. “I do.”

Roy’s eyes were screaming yes!

He wasn’t going to leave the formless siren behind even if he failed to hatch her. He will just store the egg in his subspace and make a run for it.

He knew she would live a life worse than death if she fell in Voss’s hands. That’s why although it would deeply offend Voss, he will take her out.

It’s not like Voss can chase them outside this land.

Ninam has sealed him to the Ashen Land, and thus, he can’t get out of it.

That means once they were back in Ashen Mountain, Voss would find it impossible to touch a hair on their heads.

Suddenly, he heard Yulran saying, “Words mean nothing.”

“I will prove it with my actions,” Roy said to him confidently.

“Being a white knight to her won’t be easy. But overcome this trial. And I will let you be responsible for her.”

These words of his made Roy’s days, making him so extremely excited that he screamed in his heart like a little boy.

Roy:  ⧹(⦁ᴗ⦁)⧸ Yes, I am finally going to get my first Pokemon! Hip, Hip, hooray!

Roy and Yulran were both unaware that Roy had misunderstood this situation.

The formless siren wasn’t going to be his pet or summon beast, but something more, way more than that.

“I am a breath of Yulran Tragon. I am a negligible speck of his essence. Heed my command, oh spirit of the land, rise from the depth and appear before me!”

Roy’s eyes turned to his ancestor as he was chanting.

Suddenly, his eyes constricted to the size of needles.

He saw something that shocked him to no end.

Through Yulran’s soul wisp, he was able to see his true soul. And he had to be honest here. It was too freaking big, almost the size of a small world.

He gawked at his soul. It was like the energy of the world or mana in some ways.

If Yulran’s soul was made up of millions of wisps, then this little dragon was just one out of millions of them.

This little dragon was just a speck of his ancestor’s soul. Yet he had the power to crush an aura master. How terrifying!

His crimson dragon of an ancestor must really be an unparalleled being.

Actually, Roy’s guess was right.

Yulran could destroy a fragmented world if he tried…

‘Why did I see such a thing?’ Roy wondered.

He immediately realized that he was seeing what he shouldn’t be able to because of the special effect of his title and closed shut his gaping mouth.

Clap!

Yulran, on the other hand, oblivious of his descendant’s shock, clapped his claws like a Korean shaman.

Thud!

Suddenly, a tremor was felt throughout the chambers.

Roy noticed that at some point, the ground in front of the egg had caved in.

Ephemeral Mists could be seen wafting out of it.

Then, a scratching sound and a throaty hum were heard before something shot out of it, landing five steps before the egg.

Inspecting it, he discovered it was a golden statue, twice as tall as him and resembling a cross between a lizard, bat, and a human male.

It had claws instead of hands and feet, and its face was like that of a crocodile with a great maw full of sharp teeth.

Its copper body was covered in rough green scales.

It had wings that were like those of a bat, and it stood on its pair of legs like a human.

The system’s notifications sounded in Roy’s ears.

『The guardian of Yulran’s split soul has made an appearance.』

『You will gain a chance to hatch the egg if you defeat it.』

Roy carefully scrutinized them and confirmed that none of them seemed to have heard the system’s voice. This led him to believe that even an unimaginably strong being like his ancestor couldn’t notice it, and he might fail to do so even if his true self was present in front of Roy.

“This is?” Roy asked, thinking that it was better to act like he didn’t know it, or he might arouse his ancestor’s suspicion.

“Introduce yourself to him,” Yulran said to the newcomer.

It turned to Roy with a stern, almost emotionless face. “I am the strongest of his Majesty’s rank-4 spirits. Tevenlor Yucatan Yuusha is my name. You may better know me for my deeds. I am he who dared to fool an evil god.”

“So, you’re the one.” Roy looked at him carefully.

Tevenlor was the rank-4 spirit who had fooled Voss into leaving the egg in the chamber.

“Are you the one who wishes to hatch the egg of my master?” Tevenlor asked.

Roy gave him a head nod. “Yes, I am.”

“I, Tevenlor, the proudest servant of the Crimson Dragon God, will spar with you. He will approve of your strength and allow you to take the Divine Egg if you manage to defeat me. But if you can’t beat me, you will be forced out of the ancestral land whether you like it or not.”

After speaking, Tevenlor took two steps toward Roy.

And then…
