353 Take You Out to Play
On the next day, Fang Su Jin appeared at the Zhang’s residence to visit her friend who was involved in that frightening incident.
When she arrived, Fang Su Jin was greeted by Li Qin Yao.
Fang Su Jin’s face turned slightly red upon meeting the elder lady. Not too long ago, Fang Su Jin was rumored to be in a relationship with Zhang Yi Hai. Somehow, this matter reached Zhang Yi Hai’s parents and suddenly, they were interrogated in that hotel room.
That incident was months ago. But Fang Su Jin still felt awkward around the elders.
“Su Jin, are you looking for Li Xue?” Li Qin Yao asked when she saw the young lady in front of her. Her lips turned into an amiable smile.
Li Qin Yao was aware that Fang Su Jin had rarely visited their home after that misunderstanding. However, this girl was her daughter’s best friend and the two of them had grown up together. Naturally, Li Qin Yao wanted to make Fang Su Jin feel more at ease around them.
“Un.” Fang Su Jin nodded. “Auntie, I heard about Li Xue’s injury. How is she? Is she alright?”
Li Qin Yao heaved a sigh. “You know Li Xue. Now that she was at home, her mood had improved greatly. Just now, she was still quarreling with her brother.”
Fang Su Jin laughed. “Auntie, the two of them are really close.”
.....
A faint smile appeared on her lips. As their mother, Li Qin Yao naturally understood her children well.
Zhang Yi Hai saw that his sister was worried about her injured leg and decided to tease her a little bit to lighten up her mood. The two of them quarreled for a bit. Later, the house would be filled with the sound of their laughter.
“Li Xue should be in the guest room over there.” Li Qin Yao pointed to the guest room where her daughter was staying. “Su Jin, it’s not your first time coming over. Just go over and look for her.”
Fang Su Jin nodded. “Then, I’ll go and look for Li Xue first.”
Once Fang Su Jin turned around to look for her daughter, Li Qin Yao headed to the kitchen to let the auntie prepare some snacks and drinks for their guest.
Fang Su Jin headed over to the guest room and saw the door was ajar.
Before she could knock on the door, the door swung open and Zhang Yi Hai suddenly appeared in front of her.
They both halted at the same time. They seemed surprised to see each other.
“Sister Fang, why are you here?” Zhang Yi Hai was the first to speak.
Last night, the two of them had discussed taking Zhang Li Xue out to help Bai Qi with his surprise. Zhang Yi Hai did not expect that he would be seeing Fang Su Jin today.
Fang Su Jin pointed at the room. “I came to visit your sister.” She thought about their conversation last night and whispered, “I’ll try to talk to your sister and invite her out while I’m here.”
Zhang Yi Hai nodded. “Then. I’ll be counting on you.” He then stepped aside to let her pass through. “Sister Fang, then, come in.”
Fang Su Jin quickly shifted her eyes away from Zhang Yi Hai. She peeked through the door and saw her friend sitting on the lounge chair, reading a book. She knocked on the door and smiled. “Li Xue.”
Zhang Li Xue put down the book in her hand. A bright smile appeared when she saw her friend at the door. “Su Jin, you’re here.”
Fang Su Jin raised the box in her hand. “I brought some cakes for you. They’re from your favorite cake shop.”
Seeing the logo printed on the cake box made Zhang Li Xue excited.
Fang Su Jin entered the room. She passed the cake box to her friend, glanced at the cast around Zhang Li Xue’s left leg, and sighed. “How are you doing?”
“Not so bad.” Zhang Li Xue flashed an assuring smile. “But, I’m beginning to feel a little bored not being able to move around freely.” At this time, Zhang Li Xue finally saw that her brother was still standing at her door. “Yi Hai, why are you still here? Didn’t you say that you were going back to your room to study?”
Fang Su Jin turned around and was surprised to see that Zhang Yi Hai was still around. Their gazes met, making her feel a little flustered.
Zhang Yi Hai coughed. He looked at Fang Su Jin and spoke, “I was going to ask Sister Fang if she wanted any drink.”
Fang Su Jin could feel the siblings were both looking at her. “It’s fine. I’ll just go to the kitchen to get myself some water when I’m thirsty.” She flashed Zhang Yi Hai a smile. “Thank you, Yi Hai.”
Zhang Yi Hai lowered his gaze. Then, he turned around and left.
“Su Jin, don’t you think that my brother is acting a little strange?” Zhang Li Xue narrowed her eyes as she stared at the door.
“Really?” Fang Su Jin pretended that she did not understand. Worried that her friend was going to suspect something, she then decided to change their topic. “Li Xue, how long will it take for your leg to heal?”
Zhang Li Xue pouted. “Doctor Bai said, I need to rest for six months.” Just the thought of it drives her crazy. How was she supposed to go on a date with her Doctor Bai like this?
Fang Su Jin stretched her hand and patted her friend softly on her head. “Then, you better listen to Doctor Bai’s words and rest well. Otherwise, you might not be able to play basketball anymore.”
Zhang Li Xue heaved a long, heavy sigh. She glanced at her left leg and could not stop wondering just how many times she had legs related injuries.
“Don’t be sad.” Fang Su Jin flashed a smile. “How about this? I’ll take you out to play in a few days, alright? We’ll go and eat some of your favorite chicken wings.”
Zhang Li Xue’s eyes lit up again. She looked at Fang Su Jin with hopeful eyes. “Really?” However, a few seconds later, the smile quickly disappeared. “Forget it. It would be troublesome for you to bring me out. It is a little inconvenience with my leg.”
“But Li Xue, it’s not good for you to stay home for a long time as well. You need to go out and get a bit of fresh air.” Fang Su Jin pretended to ponder this matter. “How about this? We’ll ask your brother to accompany us as well. He can help you to move around, right?”
