It was when he was talking to this male acquaintance that she arrived. Clad in a black short tight fitted gown which stops at her thigh he was bewitched by her elegance. The way she constantly flips her long black hair while maintaining that heavenly smile captivated him as no other woman has done. He was drawn to her and in the process, he subconsciously gets bewitched by her.
That night all he could see and think about was that heavenly smile of hers and the way she flips her hair. He saw her in everyone he sets his eyes on.
It got to a point that he thought he had gone insane. He even visited his doctor because he thought he had lost his damn mind. It was in the hospital the doctor announced to him that he was in love after making so many analyses.
When his doctor came up with this conclusion he had stood up to punch the young guy for spouting nonsense. If not for the fact that he controls his temper he would have punched him really hard.
The feeling of someone's hand on his face brought him out of his trance.
"I have warned you not to leisurely touched me," Jackson said holding the hand that was on his face. He lowered the hand own despite that reporters were still taking pictures. Jackson turned to walk away but Jane's words made him halt.
"You didn't send mum a congratulatory birthday message or present so won't you go and said your wishes to her before you go welcome our guests?" Jane said in a serious tone before he could walk away.
"Of course I know that," Jackson said as he raises his gaze to glare at the direction he last saw his mum. He approached her with a smile on his face afterwards.
"Don't think you can deceive me with that smile of yours this year because you can not fool me," Mrs Smith said when Jackson reaches where she was sitting with a glass of her favourite wine lying on the table in front of her.
"I am not here to deceive you but I am here to say happy birthday my beautiful mum," Jackson said as he bent and peck his mum on the cheek. The woman could not resist smiling after her handsome son pecked her.
"You are so naughty. I can't believe you appeased me with a peck this time around," Mrs Smith wearing a blue long gown which had some traces of white said smiling radiantly. Just then two handsome men dressed in suits walked up to them.
"Happy birthday Aunt," the two guys chorused with smiles on their faces.
"You both always visited very early in the morning or send me happy birthday wishes on my birthday but I waited for eternity but none of you came or send me your best wishes. I can't believe you let this unfilial son of mine influence you both," Mrs Smith said acting as though she was angry with them.
"And where the heck are my gifts?" Mrs Smith asked as she stares at their hands. Jackson chuckled when he saw how his mum was treating the guys.
"I bet they must have forgotten to buy them not to mention bringing them to the party," Jackson tried to worsen his friends' punishments.
"Is that true Jeff and Steve?" Mrs Smith asked as she stares at them with a questioning gaze.
"Of course not Aunt. We did not want our gifts to get mixed up with other guests gifts that is why we left them in our cars," Jeff quickly said before Mrs Smith could talk again.
"Yeah, our gifts are special it shouldn't get misplaced," Steve supported as he stares at the lady still staring at them.
"That is great," Mrs Smith said as she smiled broadly.
"Mum, we will go greet some of our friends over there," Jackson said in a bid to escape. He did not want to wait there until his mum started a serious topic especially the topic of marriage.
He, Steve and Jeff turned to leave but his mum's next question stop him in his track.
"Jacky, I almost forgot to ask you about my birthday gifts. Where are the gifts?" Mrs Smith asked as she stares at her son's broad back.
"Don't tell me you are the one who forgot to buy the gift and, not Jeff and Steve?" Mrs Smith asked suspiciously when Jackson did not say a word.
"Of course not mum. Your birthday gift is very unique. It has been your greatest wish to have this gift. It is going to arrive soon so be patient," Jackson said as he turned and gave his mum a reassuring smile. He and his friends walked away afterwards.
"A gift that has been my greatest wish, what could this be? I can't even grasp my fingers on what it could be because of how mysterious he sounded," Mrs Smith mumbled to herself before she raised her gaze and stare at the beautiful looking lady in front of her.
"Jane, do you perhaps know what surprise Jacky is planning? Do you have an idea of what his birthday gift for me could be?" Mrs Smith asked anxiously. She could not hide her eagerness to see the surprise her son has in stock for her.
"Mum, you know how mysterious Jack is? He didn't tell me anything," Jane replied to the disappointment of the woman who thought that she will get a hint on what her mischievous son was up to.
"I am sure he knew that I will reveal the surprise to you that is why he kept me in the dark on this matter too," Jane added before she sat down on the chair close to the one Mrs Smith was sitting on.
Meanwhile, after Jackson greeted a few of the guests, he and his friends found a suitable spot to sit.
"Jack, why do I have this feeling that the gift you were telling Aunt about was not actually a gift like she thinks...,"
"But Jasmine," Jeff quickly completed the sentence for him.
