MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1416 - 1416: The Great Veldanyr Labyrinth (3)

Just as Valyr and his group finally began to set their sights on the rooms surrounding them, one of the seven other groups in the dungeon began to complain to Alpha, their expressions gloomy as they felt that the current situation was unfair.

“What the hell is this?” Near the forefront of this group was Darklight, cursing the puppet out with a rage-filled expression.

“Why do they get to go first but we don’t?”

“The group that’s currently moving about is the first group to arrive in this place,” replied Alpha, seemingly not minding chatting with the other groups to pass the time. “Just for reference, this group has arrived an entire half hour before you seven did.”

“If not for them being the first to enter this place, there’s a high chance no one in your group, nor any of the seven other groups here would’ve gotten a message from me.”

Hearing those words, the man felt as if he were betrayed. “So, those claims of immense riches if we went in as soon as possible was all just a lie?”

“It is not,” said the puppet in return. “As I’ve mentioned before, as long as you amass enough Labyrinth Points in this place, you’ll be able to exchange them for various items and treasures.”

“If anything, the words I’ve said to you was nothing but a slight bending of the truth.”

Getting the feeling that he’d probably lose the argument at some point, Darklight decided not to talk with the puppet any further, letting out a faint sigh as he briefly thought back to the sequence of events that led them to the dungeon.

Considering that the player base was still at the early stages of exploring what the game had to offer, although Darklight had already affiliated himself with a guild, he frequently traveled around the continent in hopes of finding items that would boost his power.

At the same time, he used his travels as an opportunity to plunder and steal from those weaker than him, garnering his identity, as well as the guild he came from, a reputation that was unsavory to most players.

However, just as he was in the midst of escaping from a failed attempt at plundering a group of players, a voice called out to him all of a sudden, talking about a rare opportunity that he would sorely regret if he were to miss it.

Wondering if the voice he heard was real or not, Darklight decided to check its veracity through the system, only to find out that he had obtained an urgent quest from the system all of a sudden.

Seeing that the opportunity also allowed him to invite the members from the guild he was in, the man showed no hesitation in roping them all in, enticing them with possible riches if they were to do so.

Though it took a while for the members of his guild to get to where he was, Darklight was eventually able to have the entire guild come to where he was in less than two hours.

Then, sparing no resource in heading to the dungeon as soon as possible, it only took his guild two hours and a half to arrive.

Seeing that there were no other people near the entrance that would lead them to the rare opportunity, it was no surprise that Darklight and his group began to imagine the rewards they’d get once they entered.

After all, they were the first group to arrive and enter, right?

Yet, just as they entered one of the many rooms making up the Great Veldanyr Labyrinth, the voice that enticed Darklight earlier told them that they were the fifth group to enter the place.

“At the very least, we have to try our best to occupy as many of the rooms as possible,” said Darklight after some time.

“Although we’ll temporarily be at a disadvantage for the meantime, I’m sure won’t be long until all of the items in labyrinth become ours.”

Hearing those words, the ones with high positions in the guild began to discuss their plans once the half hour wait was over.

Naturally, as someone who had a Legendary grade class, Darklight was included in this list, listening to the strategists and the other guild staff talk about the best approach for the labyrinth.

However, just as he was in the midst of coming up with ideas to improve their guild’s plan, the man took notice of a certain individual within the group currently moving about, causing his expression to turn into that of confusion.

‘…Ataraxia?’

Whoosh!

After making sure that the two smaller groups were able to hold their own against the enemies that spawned, it was only then did Valyr allow his own group to move forward, heading towards the next room at the fastest pace they could muster.

“Support, debuff! Vanguard, shields!” Having already tasked the support team to buff everyone in the group, it did not take long for Valyr’s group to reach the end of the corridor.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Seeing a large number of monsters spawn within the room out of nowhere, the young man swiftly sent out commands to keep them at bay, only to then retaliate against the monsters not long after.

“Mages and rangers, go all out!”

With the vanguards at the front forming a defensive line for the group, the ranged damage dealers in the group were able to place all their focus in their attacks, making sure to pack as much punch in them before sending them out.

Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh!

In just a few seconds, a series of spells and arrows were soon let loose against the monsters, easily sending a fifth of the monsters that spawned back into the underworld.

“[Orb of Apyrhan]!”

Asking the damage dealers to keep up the tempo, the young man moved a bit closer to the vanguards before letting a spell from [Arcane Codex] loose.

Bang!

With his combat strength a bit more than double than what it previously was at Rank 2, it went without saying that the fiery orb deleted over half of the monsters that remained after the first offensive.

Surprisingly, with how terrifying the spell was, the monsters that weren’t in the spell’s range immediately lost all will to fight against the group, allowing them to clear the room in record time.

Whoosh!

“Alright!” Sensing that the room they cleared had now become connected to their spawn room in an inexplicable way, the young man’s eyes glistened with excitement as he ordered the group to keep moving forward.

After all, they still had over 25 minutes left.
