MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1424 - 1424: The Great Veldanyr Labyrinth (11)

Whoosh!

Watching Darklight condense a great amount of energy above him, a solemn expression appeared on Valyr’s face after realizing how much the man’s power had improved.

‘I guess I should’ve expected this much,’ thought the young man to himself, recalling the man was the proud owner of a Legendary grade class.

‘If he lets the energy condense for just a bit more, I wouldn’t be surprised if a decent number of people here succumb from its might,’ continued the young man as he started to feel an incredibly faint sense of danger emanating from it.

However, just as he thought about using Darklight’s attack as an opportunity to make sure the latter would stop getting ideas over their unified territory, a stray thought surfaced in Valyr’s mind at that very moment, reminding him of the other bonus the special items had.

‘Huh.’ With the thought now lingering in his mind, the solemn expression on the young man’s face gradually disappeared, instead looking at the current situation with a hint of amusement.

Unsurprisingly, this subtle change in expression was not left ignored by the leaders of the six groups, with all of them sending messages to him as to what about the current situation was amusing.

In response, the previously imperceptible smile on Valyr’s idea slightly grew larger as he sent all of them the same message.

“You’ll see.”

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

With Valyr and the six leaders mostly occupied by the brief conversation they had on the matter, Darklight was free to condense the skill he activated to its utmost limits, causing a dark vortex to manifest above him the moment the skill reached its limit.

Feeling the immense might the vortex contained, the man could not help but cackle as he thought about how he could wield such terrifying power with just a mere thought.

“It’s over for you, Ataraxia!” shouted Darklight, his tone dripping with anger and jealousy.

Glancing at the six leaders behind the young man, he continued, “I’ll make you pay…! I’ll make all of you pay for what you’ve done!”

Swoosh!

Hastily activating a few buffs to bolster his skill’s might to its limit, Darklight soon threw the dark vortex at Valyr and the others, his mind already imagining the panic and chaos his skill would cause.

“Step back.”

However, rather than panic in the face of the attack, Valyr continued to remain calm as he still felt a bit of amusement from the situation.

Whoosh!

Informing everyone on his side to distance themselves from him as much as possible, the young man soon got to work as he conjured a couple of shields in front of him.

“[Mana Shield].”

Fwoosh! Fwoosh!

With his absurdly high stats and his mana having crossed the next tier of quality, it went without saying that the shields Valyr conjured were far more sturdy than any shields conjured by other mages of the same rank.

In fact, that characteristic about the shields were the reason why he’d decided to conjure shields to meet Darklight’s attack instead of a simple barrier.

Why?

Thunk!

Because if he angled the conjured shields correctly…

Thunk!

He could redirect the dark vortex back at Darklight.

Swoosh!

“Shit, shit, shit…!” Not expecting his attack to come hurtling back at him, the man briefly stared at the vortex in the fear as he hastily tried to mount a proper defense against it.

Bang!

However, with the distance between Valyr and him mostly negligible, the vortex hit Darklight before he could even cast a defensive skill, immediately sending around a third of the people that came along with the man to the land of the dead.

As for Darklight, with the stats he had thanks to his Legendary grade class, he was barely able to survive the attack, even with him receiving most of the impact.

Naturally, this sight surprised the six leaders, who didn’t have an idea of what Darklight was capable of.

However, with him showing his prowess in both dishing out damage and tanking them, some of them began to waver on their previous decision of siding with Valyr for the labyrinth.

Though, such a train of thought did not last for long after Darklight tucked his tail behind his back, frantically commanding everyone on his side as they retreated back to their spawn.

“This won’t be the last time you’ll see us, Ataraxia!” shouted the man.

“We’ll make sure to avenge this loss!”

“…Go for it,” said Valyr long after the man’s group had left, shrugging his shoulders as he told everyone soon after to return to their respective territories.

In his mind, whether or not Darklight made another attempt to claim their territory wasn’t really an issue to him.

If he did, then the man would come face to face with the full might of a peak Rank 3 Valyr.

And if he didn’t…

Then, the boss that would spawn would take care of it for them.

For a while after Darklight’s attempt at reclaiming territory, the six leaders wondered if they should band together to kick Darklight’s group out of the labyrinth once and for all.

In response, Valyr told them that they really didn’t have to do that, considering the amount of Labyrinth Points they were amassing every day.

Naturally, this made the six leaders wonder what made the young man so confident, considering that all of them were mostly equal in terms of strength.

Of course, they knew what the young man had achieved, especially with his status as a dark horse in the recent tournament having been spread far and wide throughout the continent.

However, it was only after they confirmed Valyr’s strength for themselves did they realize that the rumors merely touched upon the tip of the surface of the young man’s true strength.

If anything, his true strength only inspired fear into them.

As the remaining days of the month continued to pass, Darklight followed up on his fleeting remark by attempting to reclaim part of the unified territory a few more times.

Unfortunately, even though none of the seven groups had come to meet and fight with his group, they still ran with their tails behind their backs after the boss spawned to retaliate against their attempt.

Because of the absurd strength the boss had, Darklight’s group eventually stopped their attempts to reclaim their territory once and for all, allowing the seven groups to accumulate points in peace as their final day in the labyrinth eventually came to an end.
