MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1481 - 1481: Myriad Prodigies: Fighting Lust (2)

“Keugh…!”

With the final attack dealing over three-fourths of her maximum health, it was no surprise that Erika quickly succumbed to it, being flung into the air before hitting the wall.

Bang!

Watching the repercussions of his attack cause her body to form a massive crater on the wall, the young man briefly felt a hint of satisfaction at how things unfolded, especially with how Erika was unable to retaliate against any one of them.

‘On the other hand, my fight with the Vessel of Envy started off on the wrong foot,’ thought Valyr to himself, his expression calm as he continued to look at the crater where Erika ended up.

After all, with the experience he had with the Underworld in his past life, as well as the fight with the Vessel of Envy, he knew that there would never be only one fight against someone from the Underworld.

Rumble…

Beginning to hear a faint rumbling from the crater a minute or so later, the young man subconsciously tightened his grip over the spear, pushing his senses out to its utmost limits as he continued to keep an eye on it.

“…Urgh…”

Eventually, Erika got out of the crater, finally allowing Valyr to clearly see the effects of his attacks.

Thud. Thud.

Watching as she basically dragged herself out of the crater, the young man noticed how the woman was pretty much soaked in her own blood. Though, in some parts where there wasn’t that much blood, he took note of pretty severe burn marks.

‘Wait…’ Continuing to watch her slowly get up from the ground, his expression became serious, noticing that the wounds covering up her body were closing up with every passing second.

At some point, her appearance returned to how she looked before his onslaught of attacks… save for the blood that still covered her body.

‘…Surely she would stop this fight from escalating, right?’

With [Primeval Immolation] already having deactivated, the young man knew that his current level of strength wouldn’t be a match for her.

Nevertheless, with her being a Lesser Sin and not a Vessel, he inwardly hoped that she would make the wiser choice, especially since the tournament was still ongoing.

Fortunately for him, it looked like she planned on doing so.

“I’ve got to say… the rumors heavily understate your capabilities.”

Using a spell to remove all of the blood covering her body, Erika looked at Valyr with an expression that was a mix of greed and desire

“For you to beat me to an inch of my life while rendering me incapable of retaliating… I’m quite curious as to what makes you capable of such feats,” she said, licking her lips in expectation.

Sadly, she didn’t obtain the reaction she wanted from him, with the latter distancing himself from her even further while also continuing to resist her passive charms.

“Are you planning to continue fighting?” asked Valyr with slight caution, his hand gripping his spear as tightly as possible.

Though, after hearing Erika’s response, that grip immediately loosened.

“I would be stupid to continue fighting you,” she replied, slowly shaking her head. “If you’re already capable of doing that much to me before I could even get serious, then I’m sure you’d be able to do something similar if did.”

“And even in the off chance that you’d be helpless against my full might, I wouldn’t provoke you into using your last resort. I don’t dare imagine what you could pull off if forced into a corner.”

“But of course… that doesn’t mean I’m letting you go away scot-free.”

Whoosh!

Just as Valyr thought that their skirmish would finally end then and there, Erika condensed a bit of her energy all of a sudden before shooting it at the latter’s forehead.

“Nngh!”

At the moment that energy made contact with his forehead, Valyr swiftly multiple waves of pain wash over his body.

Enduring the pain he felt as much as possible, he then began to circulate his Prime Azure Energy around it, recalling the method he had used to resist against the mark Alltide put on him.

Although he was ultimately unsuccessful in purging the energy Erika had shot at him, he was able to reduce the pain he got from it to a tolerable level, prompting him to look at the former for further explanation.

“It’s not surprising you were able to handle the Mark of Suffering,” said Erika, looking back at him as if she were expecting the current situation. “After all, you showed incredibly sturdy mental strength during the first round.”

Hearing the term the woman used to describe the energy she shot at him, Valyr’s expression turned solemn. “How do I remove this mark?”

“Quite simple.” Erika smiled, pointing at Ataraxia from afar.

“Destroy the recording crystal.”

“After that, you and I can pretend as if nothing happened between the two of us.”

“…And what if I don’t?” asked Valyr in return, only to feel an intense wave of pain wash over his body a few seconds later.

“Graaaahhhh!!!”

Watching the young man that defeated her writhe from the pain caused by the mark, Erika faintly smiled once more in amusement.

“This is what happens.”

“Grraaaaghhhh!!!”

With Valyr continuing to scream out in pain, Erika watched in silence as she expected him to eventually agree to her terms.

Though, rather than cry out in desperation and say the words she wanted to hear, Valyr gradually became more and more silent the more time passed, even reaching a point where a slight grunt was the only sign Erika had that the mark was still causing him pain.

“How in the…?” As these words faintly left her mouth, the woman began to take a few steps back as Valyr began to stand up all of a sudden, gazing at her as if she was someone he needed to destroy.

“Don’t move any closer…” she muttered in slight fear, her eyes intently watching his every movement.

“…” Remaining silent in response to her words, Valyr glanced back at her before placing his spear on his back.

Seeing that, Erika began to interpret it as a sign that the young man before her was about to accept her request.

Yet, with how he had remained silent all this time, she could not help but feel like doubting that thought.

Step. Step. Step.

Continuing to watch him with apprehension, Erika watched as he gradually moved closer, eventually stopping the moment the two were an arm’s length away from each other.

Then, out of nowhere, Erika’s entire vision turned black.

“[Four Paths Azure Magic Arts].”

“[Four Paths Azure Zenith].”
