Sora immediately saw the concern in Solomon’s eyes and she smiled in spite of herself.
She had not imagined even in her wildest dreams that Solomon could have these feelings for her… Wasn’t she too old for him?
Although age in their world was not really a barrier, because now that she had gotten rid of those cursed chains that prevented her from using her energy reserve, she felt her body slowly getting younger once again.
She had become a legendary mage at a young age, long before her little boy was born, it was just before her uncle left and it was he who had explained to her that from now on her body would not age, and that now that she had become a legendary mage, she had also become immortal.
He had told her that time would no longer have a hold on her and that she should continue to train to become ever stronger because danger could come from everywhere and that she had to be prepared.
But when she had let that traitor, who had killed Xander and had taken her younger sister hostage, and put those chains on her, she had quickly realized that her body had started to age again and that those chains would kill her sooner or later.
Solomon then pulled her out of her thoughts when he said to her: “Sora, I don’t doubt your skills, far from it, but you are still recovering and it will take time for you to use your powers like before… It’s too dangerous.”
Sora snuggled back into his arms to enjoy the warmth of his body and she told him to reassure him, “Don’t worry too much, you’ve never seen me use my real powers because you’ve always known me with those damn chains, so I can guarantee you that even though I’m not at the top of my strength right now, I can still fight against Titans… And you’re sorely lacking in mages, I’m sure the Warrior Spirits will be happy to have me fighting by your side.
Besides… Lena told me she’s going to go fight too, she wants to ask Miguel and Elias to take her back to our home world to learn how to use her powers… Please Solomon, don’t try to convince me not to go.”
Solomon hugged her tighter and then he asked her seriously: “You told me I’ve never seen you use your real powers, tell me then darling, I’ve seen you fight hundreds of times on a battlefield, what percentage of your powers could you use at that time?”
Sora thought carefully before answering because it had been a long time since she had a full access to her energy reserve and although she had not had access to it for a long time, it had continued to grow.
She then said as she looked him in the eye: “I’m not absolutely sure, but every time he took the chains off me temporarily so I could eliminate the threat at the border, it never lasted long enough for me to regain more than 10% of my abilities.”
Solomon then stammered in shock at this discovery: “10%… When you were fighting, you were only using 10% of your powers?”
Sora nodded and she told him: “In 2 to 3 days I will be fully recovered, I can show you then.”
Solomon sighed but he didn’t argue with her anymore, besides if Lena wanted to join the fight, Sora definitely wouldn’t stay here, he told her anyway: “Sora I won’t stop you from taking part in the war if that’s what you really want, but you’ll have to get the agreement of the Warrior Spirits, they’re the ones in charge of preparing the offensive.”
Sora nodded, and now that he had agreed that she could participate in the war, she asked him shyly and a little embarrassed: “About us… Are you sure of your feelings for me?”
Solomon smiled at her and after kissing her forehead tenderly he said without hesitation: “Certain.”
Sora blushed a little and she said to him: “Give me some time to think about it, okay… I really didn’t expect it, and when I will get my powers back, my physical appearance will be different too so let’s wait a little.”
Solomon then said to her: “Sora, darling, take all the time you want, my feelings for you won’t change… but what do you mean by your appearance will change?”
Sora then said to him: “As I just told you, you have never seen me use my real powers, all mages and fighters when they reach a certain level stop aging, normally I look as young as Lena, it is only because of these chains that my body had started to age again.”
Solomon then asked her curiously: “And your longevity, has it increased too?”
Sora nodded and told him honestly: “As long as my energy reserve doesn’t get blocked again, I can live indefinitely, unless someone kill me of course… And you… how does it work for the demons?”
Solomon then smiled at her and told her: “All demons stop aging at 25 and they have a lifespan of about 300 years.
But for those like me who have managed to activate their demonic aura, then it’s like you, we can live indefinitely unless we are killed.”
Sora was relieved to hear this, and she said to him: “That’s great then.”
If they were going to start a relationship it was better this way, it would have been too painful to think that he would die before her.
Solomon then caressed her cheek and he leaned slowly to give her the time to stop him if she didn’t want to be kissed.
But it was finally him who stopped an inch from her lips because he was too surprised that she didn’t try to avoid him.
He whispered her name… He could feel the warmth of her breath on his lips… And then he didn’t resist the temptation any longer.
