Ren Yuan stood before the towering pillar, its surface etched with intricate runes that pulsed with eerie, malevolent energy.
He raised his hand, his fingers tracing the ancient symbols carved into the pillar's surface. As he did so, a low, guttural voice echoed through the chamber, its tone laced with mocking amusement.
"Ren Yuan," the voice boomed, its sound reverberating through the very core of his being. "You have finally come. I trust you have made your decision?"
Ren Yuan met the unseen gaze of the Chasm of Uncreation, his expression calm and composed. "I have," he said, his voice steady and resolute. "I agree to your offer."
A wave of dark laughter washed over him, its sound chilling and unsettling. "Oh?" the Chasm of Uncreation chuckled, its tone laced with sardonic amusement. "It seems someone has finally instilled a healthy dose of fear into your heart. Tell me, Ren Yuan, what has changed your mind?"
Ren Yuan's eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of anger crossing his features. But he quickly suppressed it, his expression returning to its previous calmness.
"Fear has nothing to do with my decision," he said, his voice firm and unwavering. "I am merely acting in my own best interests."
"Haha!" the Chasm of Uncreation laughed ridiculously. "I believe you."
"Stop talking nonsense. What should I do next?" Ren Yuan said coldly.
The Chasm of Uncreation's laughter died down. "Find the Gate of the Abyss inside the Abyssal Rift. That little bastard Yun Lintian strengthened the seal not long ago. However, with your Heavenly Desolate Orb, you should be able to unseal me. I will help you from my side."Ren Yuan raised his brow slightly as he asked, "Where is my benefit?"
"Hehe. I am the Chasm of Uncreation, the most powerful existence in the entire universe. I know many things that most people don't. For example... the whereabouts of the Heart of the Creator." The Chasm of Uncreation laughed coldly.
"The Heart of the Creator?" Ren Yuan frowned deeply. He had never heard of such a thing before.
"After sealing me, the Creator divided his power into thirteen parts, representing the thirteen Primordial Gods that you know. However, he actually left his heart behind as he was worried about the universe that we had created. He knew that I would eventually return one day," the Chasm of Uncreation said coldly.
Ren Yuan went silent upon hearing this. He had no way to confirm it, but it was likely to be true.
"Once you get the Heart of the Creator, you can become an entity similar to Yun Lintian... You can become a new Creator," the Chasm of Uncreation said further.
Ren Yuan's heart pounded. It would be a lie if he wasn't tempted.
"Where is it? I will confirm it before doing anything," Ren Yuan said coldly.
"Haha. Even if I tell you, you won't be able to get it," the Chasm of Uncreation laughed mockingly.
"Just tell me." Ren Yuan stared at the pillar coldly.
"Fine, fine. I will tell you," The Chasm of Uncreation spoke as if he was helpless. "The last time I perceived his heart was within here, the Primal Chaos. If I'm not mistaken, it should be the place where Yun Lintian started his journey."
"The Azure World...?" Ren Yuan spoke up, his expression changing drastically.
"Haha! Do you think you can face him now?" The Chasm of Uncreation laughed heartily. "With your pitiful strength, you are nothing but a fish on a chopping board in front of him. I heard that he had just eliminated the entire Ancient Devil God race. Tsk, tsk, tsk. He's indeed powerful."
Ren Yuan's face darkened. Even if he brought everyone from the Heavenly Court over, it would be impossible for him to take the Azure World away under Yun Lintian's nose.
He took a deep breath and said, "I need something better than that."
"You are quite annoying. Do you know that?" The Chasm of Uncreation said annoyingly. "Go to the Abyssal Rift, and I will show you the place where the Chaos Crystals are highly concentrated. With the Heavenly Desolate Orb, you should be able to absorb all of them."
Ren Yuan's eyes flickered with a hint of hesitation briefly. A moment later, he took a deep breath and said, "Fine."
Without hesitation, he turned around and left.
"Hehe. What an impatient young man," the Chasm of Uncreation laughed slightly. "Have a safe journey!"
***
Yun Lintian returned to the Azure World with his bruised appearance.
"Big Brother Yun!" Yun Niu hurriedly flew over as she sensed Yun Lintian's aura. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Yun Lintian smiled gently and patted her head.
He turned to look at Yun Xia and Long Xi. "Yao Huang has been dealt with. He's gone."
Long Xi and Yun Xia were slightly surprised. They didn't expect Yun Lintian to deal with Yao Huang this quickly.
"That's good," Long Xi said softly.
"What's your next plan for the Azure World?" Yun Xia asked. In her opinion, it was unwise to put it back into the Divine Realm.
"I am going to connect it to the Nine Firmament City. It should be safer this way," Yun Lintian said, making a decision after a brief ponder.
Yun Xia nodded slowly. "That's fine."
Yun Lintian nodded and said, "I will do it now."
He closed his eyes, focusing his mind on the Spatial Wheel. He visualized the Azure World and the Nine Firmament City, two separate realms existing in different dimensions.
Yun Lintian reached out with his consciousness, attempting to bridge the gap between them, to create a stable connection that would allow safe passage between the two worlds. He channeled the power of the Spatial Wheel, manipulating the fabric of space and time, bending the laws of reality to his will. His consciousness stretched across the vast expanse of the void, seeking the elusive connection, the hidden pathway that would link the two worlds. As time passed, Yun Lintian began to feel immense pressure, strong resistance from both sides. He tried his best to connect both worlds, but it failed miserably.
Yun Lintian opened his eyes, his brow furrowed in confusion. Why? Why couldn't he connect the two worlds? Was there some hidden barrier, some unseen force preventing him from
doing so?
As he pondered the mystery, a sudden sound echoed through the Azure World, a sound that sent shivers down his spine and made his heart pound in his chest.
"Thump-thump! Thump-thump!
It was a heartbeat, a slow, steady rhythm that seemed to emanate from the very core of the world. It was faint at first, a distant drumbeat that gradually grew louder, more insistent, until it filled the entire realm, reverberating through the mountains, the forests, the rivers, and the skies...
