Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2787 - 2787: Gift

Hei Shou floated out from Yun Lintian’s sleeve, its fingers wiggling in greeting.

Ye Xiu’s breath hitched. A sentient body part?

Seeing his confusion, Yun Lintian smiled. “In exchange, I’ll give you something far more valuable than that armor.” He tossed a spatial ring onto the table.

Ye Xiu hesitated, then cautiously probed it with his spiritual sense—

His face went slack.

Billions of spirit stones. Dozens of heaven-grade cultivation manuals. Even a few divine-grade techniques. This single ring contained enough resources to elevate the entire Ye Clan to unprecedented heights!

“This…” Ye Xiu’s voice was hoarse.

“The breastplate is dangerous,” Yun Lintian said. “It’s not just helping you—it’s using you as a vessel. Sooner or later, it would have consumed your soul.”

Ye Xiu paled. He looked down at the armor in his hands, his grip tightening briefly before loosening. “…Take it.”

Yun Lintian nodded appreciatively. With a wave, the breastplate floated toward him.

The moment the black breastplate left Ye Xiu’s hands, it began to tremble violently. Dark energy swirled around it as the armor plates rearranged themselves, morphing into a mummified torso—leathery skin stretched over powerful muscles, dark veins pulsing with ancient power.

Hei Shou and Brother Leg immediately detached from Yun Lintian, floating toward the torso. The three fragments circled each other, their energies intertwining in a silent conversation. A low hum filled the room as divine power resonated between them.

Ye Xiu could only stare blankly, his mind struggling to process what he was witnessing. These… body parts were communicating like old friends reuniting after centuries apart.

Yun Lintian ignored the fragments for now, turning his attention back to Ye Xiu. “The technique you learned from that torso,” he said casually, “it doesn’t suit your body.”

Ye Xiu blinked. “What?”

“The cultivation method requires a physique tempered by death energy from birth,” Yun Lintian explained. “Yours isn’t compatible. If you continued, your lifespan would’ve been cut in half within three years.”

Ye Xiu’s face paled further. He had thought the breastplate was his salvation, but it had been slowly killing him?

Before he could respond, Yun Lintian extended his hand. A vibrant green vine sprouted from his palm, its surface shimmering with life energy. “Let me fix that for you.”

The vine shot forward, wrapping around Ye Xiu’s body before he could react. He tensed, expecting pain—

But instead, warmth flooded his meridians. The vine pulsed with radiant energy, and Ye Xiu gasped as he felt his body changing.

His previously blocked profound entrances burst open one after another. His profound vein expanded, his meridians widening to twice their original size. His muscles tightened, his bones reforged themselves stronger than steel. Even his skin took on a faint golden sheen before fading.

When the vine finally retracted, Ye Xiu staggered slightly, staring at his hands in disbelief. His body felt… limitless.

“This…” His voice trembled. “What did you do to me?”

Yun Lintian smiled. “Consider it a gift. Your physique now rivals those of divinities. With proper training, reaching the Divine Realm will be effortless.”

He turned to leave, the three God of Death fragments following obediently behind him.

“Wait!” Ye Xiu called out urgently. “Senior… may I know your name?”

Yun Lintian paused at the doorway. “Yun Lintian.”

“Yun Lintian…” Ye Xiu repeated to himself as if he wanted to engrave the name into his soul.

“Will we… meet again?” Ye Xiu asked hesitantly.

Yun Lintian glanced back, his golden eyes gleaming. “If fate wills it.”

With that, he stepped forward—and vanished into thin air.

Ye Xiu stood frozen for a long moment, clutching the spatial ring Yun Lintian had left behind. The events of the last few minutes played repeatedly in his mind.

Outside, the sounds of his celebrating clan continued, oblivious to the earth-shattering encounter that had just occurred in their young master’s chambers.

Ye Xiu took a deep breath, then smiled.

Nalan Yanran… you have no idea what you’ve just lost.

Yun Lintian reappeared in the clouds above the city, the three God of Death fragments orbiting him like loyal attendants.

“Only one left.” Linlin spoke up.

Yun Lintian nodded and said with a frown. “The problem is we have no clue at all.”

The final piece—the God of Death’s head—was entrusted to the God of Life Tai Ying. Yun Lintian had no idea where to start with.

He thought for a moment and sighed. “Well, let’s visit Tie Muqiu first. I want to see the God Slaying Sword.”

Linlin and Qingqing naturally had no objection.

Yun Lintian didn’t hesitate to summon the Gate of Beyond Heaven and went straight to the Central Expanse where the Iron Village located.

The Gate of Beyond Heaven deposited Yun Lintian at the outskirts of Iron Village. Compared to his last visit, the village now thrived with vibrant energy. The protective barrier glowed steadily, and villagers moved about their daily tasks with peaceful efficiency.

As Yun Lintian walked through the gates, Village Head Tie Cheng spotted him immediately. The old man’s eyes widened before he hurried forward, bowing deeply.

“Young Master Yun! This humble one greets you!”

Yun Lintian smiled faintly. “Village Head Tie. The village looks prosperous.”

Tie Cheng beamed. “Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to rebuild. The barrier holds strong, and our hunters bring back plentiful game from the revitalized forests.”

Yun Lintian nodded approvingly. “And Tie Muqiu?”

Tie Cheng gestured toward the mountain behind the village. “Still at the forge, as always. She’s barely left since you last visited.”

Without further delay, Yun Lintian made his way up the mountain path. The familiar scent of molten metal and burning coal grew stronger with each step.

When he reached the summit, his golden eyes narrowed.

Tie Muqiu lay sprawled on the stone floor beside her forge, her face deathly pale. Her breathing came in shallow gasps, her fingers twitching weakly. Beside her—

—gleamed the God Slaying Sword.

The weapon radiated terrifying power. Its blade was pure obsidian, etched with seven glowing runes representing the elemental forces. The guard resembled twin dragon wings, while the hilt pulsed with a rhythmic light, as if breathing.

A faint crimson aura swirled around it, carrying the unmistakable scent of divine blood…
