"Gosh. I know they are not as exciting as the dungeon dimensions we had been through but this was one heck of an assignment to do." No.7 said as she lay on the back of the War Boar as the Herd had already accepted her and No.2 for their 'service and contribution' to the group.
"Tell me about it." No.2 said that the Mind Control Technique he was using was not as intense as it initially started. The War Boar Leader he was controlling was clearly listening to his orders more rather than resisting it, decreasing the amount of Mana needed to control the leader.
Soon, they reached the Forest clearing and found that there were no butlers or maids waiting for them at the gates of the Manor. There was no way the hunters were able to give the final blow to the herd after what they had been through. So, one of the alternatives was to get their friends to do the job instead.
But what they did not expect was that the gates were not closed at all but wide open for them. They initially thought that they might be in a fight or battle against some unknown group as part of this Manor Lord's whim but they were wrong. No.2 finally saw a shade of a huge figure and realised that it was none other than the Lord of the Manor himself.
The morning fog cleared and Vishnu's physical appearance at the back of the Manor made it feel that their comrades were in danger, which caused them to move away from the War Boar Herd and hold their rifles close to their chest.
"Ohhhhhh. You found Game Meat!" Vishnu said as he clapped his hands, welcoming the War Boar Herd that was now in the forest clearing. One of the larger War Boars walked forward upon hearing the claps from Vishnu and No.7 recognised that the Boar that stepped out of its herd formation was none other than the same War Boar who stayed as the rear guard of the herd the entire time.
Every single start of volley of magic or defensive capabilities seen were started by him before the other War Boars cast theirs. But what they were more shocked was that the War Boar itself was called Game Meat."
"Wait…so does that mean that Vishnu did not want meat from the herd but a War Boar called Game Meat??" No.2 said out loud and Vishnu who was rubbing his face on the old rugged War Boar's side belly acknowledged it.
"Yeah, what else? I did call my baby here Game Meat. He was one of the few War Boars that my dear Dashavatara had bestowed to me as a gift for one of my birthdays. Don't exactly remember when and the Dashavatara themselves joked that if I called one of them Game Meat, people would think that would be something wrong with our guardians and their god."
"Obviously, I went to think that it would be a decent gag joke but never did I know that I would be keeping his name to this day," Vishnu said as the Game Meat finally had enough of Vishnu's vicious rubbing of his stomach and conjured a stone hand from the ground to pull him away from Game Meat himself."Oh and thank goodness you did not incite him," Vishnu added that it was a job well done. "He had lived long enough to be as strong as my Avatars. In fact, should my dear Celestial War Boar Dashavatara do not wish to keep his mantle, Game Meat can take his place. And he could fight with Kalki for the God of War position."
"Are you disregarding the report I am giving to you? They were aiming to kill us in the first place." Game Meat's telepathy reached to the group around him.
"Oh, pssh. I know they would attempt to take a hit on you but here you are still alive and kicking. I do not see any problem with that." Vishnu said and the two hunters did have a lucky break with the Shadow Predators coming in an attempt to feast on Game Meat's herd.
Your journey continues on empire
"Besides, you are old enough to see how strong they were in a fight and can still win without even thinking much." Vishnu rubbed Game Meat's belly even more after breaking out of the Stone Hand he made and all the War Boar could do was to surrender at his mercy.
"What happened to our other comrades now that Game Meat…and his herd are safe and sound." No.2 asked as he wished to divert the current conversation away from the conversation that they had the intent to kill his herd.
"They are still in the Manor, preparing food for the guests that I had. Oh, of course, I would have wanted them to pick some berries and such from the forest but…" Vishnu pointed at the forest with one of his palms, as if showing that the destruction they had dealt with the forest had made it not a possibility for them to search for exquisite foodstuff.
"So, I decided that I opened my food storage for them to pick and choose," Vishnu stated and the two Commando Mages felt that this charade of dealing with him as a Lord was tiring. They were starting to wonder if their King purposely do this to tire them out so that they would not proceed with their vengeance or was he making fun of their supposed steadfast dedication to killing Vishnu.
"In any case, you done a good job protecting Game Meat and his herd even though he did not really need any help. He was possibly doing this rearguard nonsense as a way to put some pressure on his younglings to experience a bit of hardship." Vishnu remarked. "So, while the rest are still searching for food in my food storage, I can personally reward you by entertaining a request."
"You can handicap me in any way possible if you want as part of the request or maybe something else that you need. I would bid to those requests when your comrades survived and we cleared the guests for the morning." Vishnu proposed and this suddenly felt like a decision that the two hunters could not make for themselves.
