118 Chapter 118 Under the moonlight, like ripples on water.

At the end of my conversation with Sasha, I saw her climb the stairs towards her room while I cleared the table, I suppose she needed time to think about everything I had said to her and consider the offer to leave her world to come to mine; I could only hope her response was positive.

That topic aside, it was a bit ironic that I started the day wanting to put a little more effort into the tasks at hand and now I found myself washing dishes as the moonlight began to peek through the window.

It had been a somewhat unusual day, to say the least, but at least I was able to get a lot of improvement for my bow so that should make some things easier from now on, according to Elaisa the higher one of the class climbs the more difficult and time consuming it gets the process no matter how talented you are; probably the zero-star class is the only one that can go through so quickly depending on potions or other things.

That meant that have been able to upgrade my bow to a high-level one-star class I would not have to worry about the effectiveness of my main weapon until I reached two-star class which would take months even if I was optimistic.

Finishing cleaning the kitchen a little, I found myself strangely with nothing to do, it was not so late that I died to sleep, but not so early as to go out to the forest to play with the little animals that live there; so seeing the moon through the window and remembering that there was some tea left in the kettle that I could heat up again, I decided to go out and relax while watching the moon.

Leaving the cabin with a large steaming cup of tea, I began to leisurely walk around the patio while taking an occasional sip of my hot beverage, turning up I could see the moon in all its mystical splendor, as to why I used that word to describe the moon; well that was because the moon of this world was easily three times the size of the earth and it was white with a slight tint of blue to it.

A gentle breeze blew through the forest, fluttering my hair and caressing my skin, I must say that since I had been promoted to one-star class and had gone through the elemental epiphany; I had begun to enjoy little moments like this a lot in which I felt the caress of the elements with which I had an affinity.

Thinking about it, my attention was directed to a small spring at the western end of the area considered part of the house, according to Sasha her teacher had created that spring artificially by manipulating an underground source of water and making it sprout here; in that way, it had become the source of fresh water in this place.

Although I say it was a small spring, it was at least a couple of meters in radius and a meter or deeper, not that that was really relevant; A curious fact is that given my affinity with water I had been able to feel that the water in the spring contained a minuscule amount of mana in it, as for its usefulness only Sasha could tell.

.....

Having made my way to the spring, I sat quietly on the shore of the spring and continued to quietly enjoy the tea I brought with me and the moonlight, it had been a while since I hadn’t relaxed so much, the last few days that I had I had been recovering from my injuries they had been quite uncomfortable, to say the least, and I was also used to always having something to do so moments like this were rare for me.

There was always something else to do, one more task to complete, money to earn, a girl to take care of, shopping to do, work to do, plans to do, and much more; It’s not that I didn’t enjoy my life with Claire. . . but the worries had always been many and although I enjoyed taking care of her and pampering her, the truth is that it was a demanding task; after all, I am not a superman who can live without sleep powered only by the energy of love.

But they say that habits are difficult to leave behind and that was something quite true at this point, as soon as I finished my hot drink and my mind was filled with things to do again, for some reason my mind ended up wandering towards the memories of my battle with the idiot tiger I got the materials to upgrade my bow from.

There was a lot to learn from what happened that day, a lot of which could be fixed if I learned more skills or had better equipment. If I had more skills related to movement or bow shooting I wouldn’t have gone through so much trouble killing that tiger or escaping from it and if I had a full armor set I wouldn’t have been so hurt.

But there was one thing in particular that bothered me a lot. . . The burst of mana, was a good ability, although simple in its design, the way it operated was simple too, but it had too many weaknesses.

Although the speed increase it provided was quite considerable, being able to increase it to almost three times, it also lasted too little, leaving me somewhat vulnerable after use, it was difficult to control and coordinate the bursts of mana to perform complex movements, the cost of Mana was also very high and if that wasn’t enough if it was used continuously in a single area of ??the body the tension could cause it to end up self-injuring.

I guess it was normal for a low-level skill like that to have its flaws, but I couldn’t wait to get a better skill, of course, that would have to wait, it wasn’t like I could just improvise like with my other skills.

After all, this was an ability that operated within my body and I did not want to end up injuring myself even more just because of my impatience as if the wind itself was in agreement with my thoughts, a soft and cool current passed by ruffling my hair again. . . It seems like I should think about trimming my hair a bit.

As soon as that thought finished formulating itself within me and my mind was completely absorbed in something in the middle of the spring. . . it was a leaf, a simple leaf that was probably blown off a tree by the wind and ended up there, but my mind couldn’t stop watching the ripples that formed in the previously calm spring.

Those small, almost tiny waves created by something touching the surface of the water, it was strange how the slightest of forces could bring change to this spring that went from absolute stillness to movement, the waves were almost imperceptible and if it weren’t for the light of the moon I probably wouldn’t have noticed them; it was strange as something so simple and. . . natural caught my attention at this moment. . . but I couldn’t stop looking at it.

From stillness to movement, small waves, like the surface of the water, only the force necessary to break the tranquility without breaking the spring. . . I think I have an idea, I will need to work on it a bit, but I think it is quite viable and would solve a little problem of mine.

′′ A lot for a break I guess. ′′ Only a helpless sigh came out of those words, seriously some habits are difficult to abandon.
