171 Chapter 171 A Contract and a Mission Complete
With a strange expression on his face as he pointed to the holographic screen of the hunter’s book, Desmond couldn’t help but ask again to confirm what he had just heard.
′′ Sasha, are you sure this is the contract you want? ′′
′′ It seems appropriate to me, yes Desmond, I am sure. ′′ As she spoke, what shone in Sasha’s reddish eyes was no doubt but determination and some kind of longing.
Hearing Sasha confirms her decision again and having seen her expression, Desmond could only sigh helplessly as he read again the description of Sasha’s chosen contract.
One can get the idea why Desmond had to ask Sasha on more than one occasion about her decision because no matter how one saw it, this contract was extremely binding in terms of its effects not to mention the implications that this kind of contract has about their relationship.
But now that Sasha had chosen this contract so decisively it would be below Desmond to doubt about it, even if the word marriage appeared in the contract it didn′t mean that the relationship between them would change instantly so they could still take it easy.
The next problem was determining the clauses of the contract, at first, the process had been quite simple with issues such as deciding which Sasha would accompany Desmond to his homeworld or determining whether or not there would be changes in their names due to the marital element.
There was also a small surprise, it turned out that, as part of agreeing to leave her world to go to Desmond’s world, Sasha had the right to carry a certain amount of objects with her; the quantity being quite significant, Sasha was able to carry almost all the existing materials in the underground vault left by her teacher.
.....
The problem came when both began to read about more specific clauses referring to the status of the parties involved in the contract and the obligations that this implied, due to the enormous binding power of this specific type of contract and the infinity of breeds to which it was intended to serve; there was an infinity of possible clauses that had to be considered.
In the end, Sasha and Desmond chose to eliminate all the clauses that did not even apply to their races, having already reduced the options they also discarded everything that seemed unreasonable, after hours of tedious reading the couple ended up with a contract that only did what was said in its original description.
Both of them had lost hours of their lives to end up having in their hands an extremely basic model of the contract, the only thing that was added by the enormous insistence of Sasha was a fidelity clause.
As ridiculous as it may sound, Sasha had insisted on adding a clause specifying that she and only she would have to remain faithful to Desmond in every way, as possessive and jealous as Desmond was deep down he was not really against said clause even if that made him a hypocrite.
But no matter how shameless Desmond was, he would never have added that clause on his initiative, knowing that he cannot or does not want to be faithful as he is supposed to be; that was what made it so unexpected that it was Sasha who requested such a clause.
In the beautiful vermilion-haired girl’s own words: ′′ Although the mere possibility seems absurd to me, I would still like to take an oath about it; Because in this life I will love only you and nobody else, that is why I want this promise to be carved in the depths of my soul. ′′
Having finished everything related to the formulation of the contract, the only thing left to do was to sign it and perform the bonding ritual.
The signing process was as simple as one could imagine, but the ritual part was slightly more elaborate.
Sasha and Desmond had to take an oath of love and loyalty, with the blood of each of them decorating their lips during the proclamation of the ritual, this had to be carried out while holding hands and standing on a magic circle emanating from the contract that both signed; to finish, they both had to kiss each other, exchanging blood between them.
Sasha’s oath was the promise of a maiden who promised eternal love to the man she loved, she would accompany and support him regardless of his goals or destiny; She would always be faithful to him and she would give him every last drop of love that her heart was capable of giving throughout her life.
On the other hand, Desmond’s oath was a bit more peculiar:
′′ I swear that I will love you as much as possible, you will drink and eat only the best that I am capable of providing, I will shelter you and be your refuge in the face of any adversity, I will never prohibit you from pursuing your dreams or who you are and no matter what happens in the future you will always have an irreplaceable place in my heart.
I cannot promise you the kind of fidelity that I should give you, I cannot promise you eternal happiness or a smooth path. . . but I can promise you that I will do what is in my power to give you all the love you deserve.
I will protect you and this promise with everything I have, there is nothing that I would not destroy or blood that I would not shed to do so, nothing is sacred except our home, nothing is forbidden except betrayal between us.
I, Desmond Astryd, swear.>
A poignant oath with a sinister touch at the end was the style of the man Sasha had fallen in love with, but she was fine with it, just as she was okay with having to share him with other women.
With a bloody kiss to end their oath, the couple looked into each other’s eyes with intensity as the kiss lasted longer and longer, at the end after losing the metallic taste of blood, the kiss last until both were forced to separate to catch my breath.
After storing her belongings in the hunter’s book as stipulated in the contract, Sasha took one last look at her home in ruins, and with a nostalgic smile she said goodbye to the place that had seen her grow up all her life; a magic matrix soon occupied all the vision of Sasha who she took with force the hand of Desmond when everything around her began to fade.
And so Desmond’s adventure in Erack’s world had ended, from the beginning to the end nothing had gone as the young hunter had planned, but he carried with him much more than he came to look for; in the same way, it was Erack’s world that he had lost the most, but that was the price of not having cared for the treasure known as Sasha Kor Ignis.
And as he thought about all that he had gained on this trip, Desmond’s smile could not have been brighter, especially when he looked at the girl who now accompanied him, but the smile lasted little when he thought in the battle of biblical proportions that was still going to take place with Claire for precisely taking a beautiful girl back with him.
′′ It can’t be that bad, right? ′′
