525 Chapter 525 Birthday (2)
Although he was not particularly studious, Desmond was exceptionally well versed in many academic fields, albeit not to a godly level. Among those fields are world history and culture, with specific periods and regions being his favorites, such as ancient Greece.
At that time, there was a woman whose beauty caused the downfall of a nation, a woman who became infamous in a certain way. The expression “a beauty that topples kingdoms” came precisely from that time.
As someone who had read more than one historical record that seemed far too unreal, Desmond had never thought that beauties of that level actually existed. But that thought changed, and now, looking at the four women waiting for him in the living room, Desmond felt that they might as well wipe out an entire continent just by relying on their beauty.
Revna’s black dress contrasted with her white skin and red hair, giving the girl a mysterious and forbidden look that was incredibly sensual. In addition to her dress, Revna wore bare slippers that showed off her cute little feet. Revna wasn’t wearing much makeup, putting only some dark red lipstick on her lips. Likewise, she was wearing only one piece of jewelry, the beautiful pair of earrings that Desmond gave her when he returned from Serefía.
Claire was wearing something more youthful and fresh compared to Revna. Instead of a dress or the like, Claire wore a lovely light green blouse, short skinny jean shorts that clung tightly to her thighs and perky rear, as well as a pair of black stockings that covered everything down to her beige boots. The only other thing Claire wore on top of her was a white summer hat with a green ribbon.
Having gotten a bit used to earth clothes, Sasha chose something that allowed her to show off her most attractive points without showing too much of herself. The pair of denim jeans that Sasha wore seemed practically painted on her incredibly plump and round thighs, while the vermilion blouse with ruffles and cute embellishments couldn’t hide the tremendous potential of her breasts peeking out from the cleavage.
To some extent, Cecilia dressed more simply, wearing a neat, long white sundress and a pair of white slippers. Unfortunately, with her godly curves, there was nothing Cecilia could wear without looking alluring like a succubus; her poor dress seemed on the verge of collapsing around her glorious breasts.
Despite being used to living with them, Desmond was still stunned for a couple of seconds at how beautiful they looked today. The desire to simply ignore the rest of the world and spend his entire life showering the four beauties with love flashed through Desmond’s mind and took a long time to go.
Always being the most energetic and outgoing, Claire turned cheekily, showing off her charms before asking with a pure smile. “What do you think?”
.....
Desmond’s blue eyes flickered with deep emotion at the sight of the women before him, but there wasn’t even a hint of lust in there, just love, admiration, and deep affection. “Claire, you look gorgeous. Revna, you look simply too captivating. Sasha, you look hotter than ever.”
Desmond paused for a moment right at the end while looking at Cecilia. Since their relationship was different from the rest, Desmond hesitated for a second, but seeing a flash of expectation in Cecilia’s golden eyes, he still said something. “Cecilia, you look radiant.”
Have words always had so much power? Or was it the genuine affection behind them? It was hard to tell, but the four girls, each unique and exceptional, found their hearts filled with a feeling of unprecedented tenderness. For Claire and Sasha, the experience was familiar but no less valuable or emotional, but Revna and Cecilia had the most significant impact.
Revna was about to reach the ninth cloud after receiving such loving and sincere praise from Desmond; her Master treating her this way was all she wanted. For Cecilia, Desmond’s words evoked wholly new and alien feelings for her, and it was only because of her calm demeanor that she managed to contain her emotions long enough to only show a slight blush on her cheeks.
The day was just beginning, but the mood between Desmond and the girls was already rosy. One could only hope things got better. Speaking of starting the day, Desmond found it strange that he hadn’t seen little Estela or little Kyuru until now.
Asking about the stone maiden and the mischievous fairy, Claire cleared Desmond’s doubts. “They are waiting for us at the first point of our route; judging by the time, I thought we should go there. We don’t want to make them wait.”
With everyone in agreement, the entire family left the house and immediately became the center of attention. It was practically a sacrilege, complete defiance of the gods, the amount of beauty gathered between the five of them. Not only did the four girls all look like goddesses, but Desmond himself could also very well pass for the incarnation of a god of war, heroic and manly in the extreme.
While the competitive and hostile atmosphere of the last few weeks had receded after Desmond and other little monsters in the army dished out beatings left and right, there was still no lack of those who couldn’t help but see Desmond walking with four beauties.
However, this was not just any day; today was Desmond’s birthday, a special day for the man that the four beauties held dearly in their hearts, and none of them would let a complete stranger ruin it.
After seeing two guys fly away in an almost comical but still humiliating way, no one else dared to approach. It only took Claire to get serious with her telekinetic powers to get to this; no one wanted to know what would happen if the four girls got angry at the same time.
While no one dared to get in the way of Desmond and the girls, they still attracted a lot of attention from both men and women. The amount of envy and jealousy they drew was shocking, to say the least.
Not knowing where they were going, Desmond followed the girls blindly as he had some casual conversations with them, mainly about their hobbies, which the girls had more time for recently.
Revna talked about how much she enjoyed yoga in the morning, how relaxing it was, and how energetic she felt afterward. Claire had been enjoying gardening with Estela and spending time immersing herself in painting, a hobby she picked up from Cecilia.
Interestingly, Sasha didn’t talk much about alchemy since her research was somewhat stagnant. Apart from making some expected advances, she didn’t have any great discoveries; on the other hand, she had been investing time in the art of tea.
In Cecilia’s case, she directly skipped the long list of books she had recently read and instead talked about her time painting with Claire and the music she had been enjoying lately. But, as expected of Cecilia, her hobbies included helping at the local orphanage or supporting the military hospital when the situation called for it.
The only person in the group who didn’t say anything was Desmond, who was too busy to do other than eat and sleep. The wave of chaos that swept the world may have died down quickly, but its aftermath was still palpable, and the military bore the brunt of dealing with it.
Furthermore, with his new position as captain, a promotion he gained after the Verimar operation, Desmond only increased the weight of responsibilities on his shoulders.
The talk was pleasant, and the family enjoyed a rare moment of worldly peace, but Desmond began to notice something about his fate as they moved through the city. “Are we going to leave the city?”
The four girls nodded with a smile and continued to lead Desmond out of town. Even the soldiers in charge of the checkpoint at the security exit did not dare stop the group to question their fate or motives. No one wanted to get on the wrong side of the black wolf of the south and his women.
However, when the group of five finally emerged from the confines of the city, there was no lack of negative comments about Desmond and his group. To tell the truth, this was inevitable; in the first instance, polygamy was not a concept that was widely accepted in society even though it was now something legally viable.
On the other hand, the policies and laws related to polygamy only benefited espers of great power and status, mainly those related to the military. Putting aside the scientific reasoning of letting the genes of those powerful espers proliferate, the reality was that this was just one more way of giving the espers privileges to keep them happy.
It was natural that the general population did not have good feelings towards the people who benefited from such selective and apparently unfair privileges. There was no lack of people who saw the women of their dreams run into the arms of these powerful espers.
In Desmond’s case, not only did he have four women with him, already making him the most successful womanizer in town, but each and every woman he held in his arms was a work of art.
Fortunately, Desmond had many accomplishments, and his stellar participation in the Bitter Winter Battle also went a long way toward establishing prestige among the common populace. Therefore, while there were still those who envied him to death, a good portion of people simply believed that it was natural for him to have such privileges. Some even admired him.
What too many people didn’t know was that Desmond couldn’t give a damn what people thought of him. At the end of the day, even if the whole town hated him, Desmond could still go out and walk around the same way he just did. The reason was quite simple: he had the power to crush anyone who dared to act on that hatred.
Therefore, even if Desmond and the girls had heard those comments of hate and jealousy, they wouldn’t have cared, the only thing that mattered to them was being together and sharing happy moments, and that’s what they would do on this special day.
