He was strapped to a chair by leather belts since he could just use his electromagnetism on a metal chain. The belt however wouldn't have been much of a problem for him to deal with, he could easily break through with his strength alone.

To his surprise however, no matter how much he struggled, it wouldn't budge.

"That won't work, I've paused the chair and the belt." Said Gray as he walking ahead of him with a metal wrench.

"I've never done this before so let's start with something light. Fortunately there was a room beneath this mansion for this. What kind of sick owner has a room here like this?" Gray asked, cracking out a chuckle.

"What do you want with me?" The horned one asked.

After that, he placed the wrench beside the horned one's head.

"Want? Ah, right. Sorry, I forgot there were questions I had to ask you." Gray clicked his tongue as his hopes of having something to experiment the more dangerous side of pause on had disappeared.

Gray's eyes lit up as a thought passed through his mind. His cheeks grew redder as an innocent looking smile formed on his face. "Ah, that's right. If he doesn't answer my questions, then it should be fine if I experiment."

The horned one who both saw and heard this felt chills rush down his spine. 'Looks like there are crazy beings in their race too… Fuck…'

Gray suddenly crouched down beside the man, and looked him right in the eye before he asked.

"We don't want that, do we?" Gray asked as he cocked his head to the right. "Speaking of wants… What exactly is your race after?"

The smile on his face remained there as he waited for a reply. However the horned one did not respond. He simply sat there and stared back.

When he saw this, Gray let out a sigh.

"Experiment it is."

[Pause]

Gray tapped the man with his wrench and his entire figure froze up. 'Huh? What's going on?' He wondered.

Gray proceeded to pull back his arm with the wrench on his hand as far back as possible before suddenly swinging it at the horned ones, face. Caving it into his nose.

The fear in his eyes grew wider however as he realized there was no pain. Once again he had lost control of all his sensations.

"Oh shit- I forgot that I'm supposed to leave the face for last." Said Gray, before pulling his arm back and swinging once more, in the exact same spot.

*THUD*

Again, there was no pain. Gray proceeded to finish it off with one last swing, only this time it landed right on the man's thumb.

'Huh…? What's- What's he doing? Why can't I feel anything?! Why can't I speak."

"I should probably mention that for every question you don't answer, I'll be breaking a bone or two." Said Gray with a smile.

'O-Oi… Wait- I-I'll tell you! L-Let me speak!'

"Unpause~"

*Crack*

"GAAAAAARGHHHHH!"

Blood curdling screams echoed from beneath the mansion.

[You have slain a horned one.]

[You have earned 50 XP]

After an hour, he had finished. Gray's shirt could be seen covered in even more recent blood.

Gray's palm could be seen on his face as he remained leaned against the wall. His arms were trembling as he thought back on what he had just done.

"Stay strong… This is the only way to survive… It's kill or be killed…" He convinced himself. "I'm on hell of an actor…" He added before punching himself in the face in an attempt to calm himself down.

If it would result in their survival, then even if he would have to dirty his hands. He would. Since his evolution was complete, and his emotions were stabilized, he had no way of controlling them.

The guilt for having taken a life. It was starting to catch up.

"Fuck… At least I was able to find out some new things…" He muttered before getting up.

——————

The horned one had kept quiet about their races name so Gray just decided to leave It as horned ones.

Their races came from a foreign planet, one rather similar to earth. It's name remained unknown but he discovered why they had invaded earth.

Labyrinths. That was the sole reason. Labyrinths, the names given to these holes which had appeared out of nowhere. It interest them because it contained treasures which defied all sorts of logic and imagination.

Any planet, any race in possession of these treasures would continuously evolve as their civilization would advance. Eternal youth, immortality, this was just the tip of the ice berg for things which could be acquired.

It's precisely because of these things that they were wanted by all types of other races and species. Such was the reason Earth was being invaded.

Another thing Gray had discovered was that the top half color of the horns in their head, symbolized the rank they belonged to.

The ranks were rather simply to understand.

Purple was the lowest.

Blue second lowest.

Green the third lowest.

These three colors constituted the their ranks and ability. The lighter the shade, the stronger they were. Based on what the horned one had said however, most of the horned ones in the low category were around the same skill level. So it didn't really matter.

The upper ranks however, were on completely different levels with each different level of color.

Yellow was the third highest.

Then came orange as the second.

And lastly, Red.

The horned one had warned Gray that if he saw any red ranked ones. He would best believe his life was over. The words didn't strike any fear on Gray's eyes despite that.

The horned one didn't want to tell Gray any information about the upper ranks or their leader. He'd rather die. And that he did.

"That should just have about covered all of it…"

There was also the virus, but the horned one knew nothing of it. Apparently a few of them had gotten infected too which striked Gray as rather interesting. The virus spreading was most definitely due to the formation of these labyrinths, so was the people's evolution.

If they couldn't foresee such a thing then that would mean.

"They're powerful, but not all-knowing. This war isn't one-sided." Said Gray before walking away.

*Tssss*

The sound of the sterilized water splashing onto the floor echoed throughout the mansions bathroom. Using it was most definitely a bad idea, but Gray couldn't care less. The zombies were dealt with, he had defeated a few horned ones.

He deserved this shower at least.

When he was finished and got out, he was surprised to find Aurora outside waiting for him.. With nothing but a towel covering his bottoms, a smile grew on his face as he asked. "What's up?"
