The water splashed, and before reaching Kent, every last droplet turned into a pointed needle capable of piercing the strongest metal. However, Kent just hovered in the air, defending everything with his sword energy.

When the attack cleared, his gaze fell on the blue-scaled water dragon. It was about 150 meters long, its massive serpentine body coiling within the water.

Its scales shimmered like polished sapphires, reflecting the dim light with an almost hypnotic glow. Jagged fins ran along its spine, rippling as it moved, and its deep, glowing eyes locked onto Kent with fierce intelligence.

Water vapor swirled around it, misting the air as they locked in a fierce gaze.

Water dragons don’t have wings, but they make do with their long bodies. They are more like overgrown sea serpents, but much more dangerous, especially when fighting on their home turf.

“Hello there… You wouldn’t happen to know which direction leads to the Elven kingdom?” Kent asked with a smile, disregarding the fact that he had just been attacked.

The dragon didn’t respond; instead, its eyes turned a deep blue, and the water around it began to boil. Kent felt a powerful pressure coming from the water, causing him to move back.

However, before he could get too far, a vortex rose from the surface of the water and started pulling him in.

His body felt like it had no choice but to enter the vortex. However, Kent knew doing so would be a disaster, so he held his ground.

After a few seconds, seeing Kent wasn’t getting pulled into the vortex, the dragon struck with its tail, sending a wide arc of water at Kent.

Kent’s eyes narrowed as the powerful water arc surged toward him, roaring with the force of a crashing wave.

He tightened his grip on his sword, gathering his sword energy into a shimmering barrier that flickered like liquid light.

The water slammed against the barrier, sending ripples and splashes outward, but it held firm. Not even a crack appeared on it.

‘That was powerful…’

The dragon coiled its massive body, its tail whipping back for another strike. Kent leapt into the air, dodging the second arc with precise timing.

He could feel the raw energy of the dragon’s attack vibrating through the air, each strike designed to overwhelm and crush.

‘…This is interesting… Unlike the other Core Formation experts who had formed and refined their cores seven times, this dragon has the strength to back his cultivation base.’

Kent was intrigued, finding even more reason to explore the world beyond the human continent.

‘Looks like this trip won’t be wasted.’

Hovering above the churning waters, Kent focused, weaving his sword energy into a sharp, radiant blade that extended far beyond the physical blade of his sword.

With a sudden burst, he launched himself forward, aiming to pierce through the swirling vortex and land a decisive blow.

The water dragon roared, unleashing a spray of boiling water and a surge of pressure that threatened to knock Kent off course.

But Kent’s sword intent flared, cutting through the tempest like a beacon of calm in the storm. The vortex was extinguished just like that.

This gave Kent a few moments of calm, so he scanned the dragon.

⟦Name: Thalorin Abysswalker⟧

⟦Bloodline: Tidal Sovereign Bloodline (unawakened)⟧

⟦Race: Ancient Sea Race⟧

⟦Realm: Core Formation (7/7)⟧

⟦Title: Outer Sea Guardian of the Sea Race⟧

Kent read the info with a calm expression. He had already suspected the guardian Shax spoke of was this dragon, so he wasn’t shocked or anything.

“At this moment, if you have even a trace of a brain, you should know there is no way you will be able to kill me… so why don’t we talk like normal people?”

Kent proposed, looking at the dragon, who said nothing despite Kent knowing he could talk and even take on a humanoid form. He wasn’t a typical monster — he was a dragon, after all.

This meant he could talk, yet so far, Kent could only see the fury in the dragon’s eyes.

“They came at me, and I killed them… it was self-defense,” Kent smiled. “If anything, you should blame yourself for sending those weak monsters at me.”

He saw that the anger came from the fact that he had slaughtered every last sea monster sent his way. So he addressed that, and while he didn’t want to show it, he knew the dragon was planning an attack.

But Kent wasn’t worried. The worst that could happen was that he would finally kill his first dragon and continue his journey.

“Who are you?” Suddenly, the dragon spoke, causing Kent to smile.

“So you can talk, yet you choose to fight instead. Dragons…” Kent shook his head.

“You, sir… You can call me Kent Madson. Nice meeting you.” The moment he introduced himself, the atmosphere became tense.

The attack the dragon was preparing failed, but it managed to hold onto it, gazing intensely at Kent like he was some monster.

Among the many things the dragon had encountered at sea, it had never prepared for the one person everyone was searching for.

Kent Madson—the name he was specifically ordered to stop from passing over the sea—was now right in front of him, and he couldn’t do anything to him.

Why couldn’t he do anything to Kent?

It was because, despite the tense atmosphere that shrouded the place due to Kent revealing his name, the dragon saw that he was just smiling with his defense down, not even considering him a threat.

The dragon was not an idiot—he knew Kent wasn’t acting. The confidence oozing from the brat was enough to tell him the human before him was dangerous.

However, he was also in a dilemma.

He had been given strict orders to take down or restrain the human named Kent Madson if he were to encounter him.

But as it stood, the mighty Sea Dragon—Outer Guardian of the Sea Race—knew deep in his draconic heart that he didn’t have what it took to restrain Kent, let alone kill him.

This put him in a state that made him start to wonder which road to take.
