Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System
Chapter 707 - 707: Complex Relationship“The animosity between the Elves and the humans, as far as I know, started a long time ago… even before the Battle of the Parting. But it intensified about 100 years ago,” Helyra began. “From what I know, long before the parting, the humans were allies with the Elves.
I learned that the humans back then were powerful life magicians, and since most Elves are also life magicians, they became close.
I don’t know much, but I know the humans and the Elves had a falling out over something—some say it was an Ascension platform, while others say it was a rare treasure they discovered in some ancient ruin. However, after that event, the humans and the Elves became enemies.
Now, they don’t see eye to eye, and so if you had come through the Elf Kingdom, I had a feeling they would have attacked you.”
Kent just nodded, taking Helyra’s words in. It wasn’t like he had any plans to mend the relationship between humans and elves.
He merely wanted to know, and from what he had just heard, the humans and the Elves would never be friends ever again. This kind of breakup, without public knowledge of the root cause, often turns out to be a difficult one.
The cause, when discovered, mostly revolved around a great betrayal, and that was something Kent had no interest in. He just came to get what he wanted. If humans and Elves don’t talk forever, then they can remain enemies.
Helyra talked more, but everything wasn’t something Kent could rely too heavily on, so he just listened and absorbed them as they came.
“Thank you, Helyra,” Kent said, walking out of the Outer section of the Flame Valley. Helyra nodded with a pleased expression.
“So, how did you cross the Black Sea? I learned that there is a guardian who knows when someone is passing or can tell when someone is passing. Did you encounter this guardian?” Arion asked with a skeptical expression.
“I did meet a guardian, but one thing led to another, and we became friends. So he allowed me to pass,” Kent smiled. “He is an amazing person, by the way… he was fun to be around.”
The three Half-Elves looked at each other and began to wonder how such a thing was possible. They heard stories of this sea guardian, so hearing Kent speak casually about him made them wonder many things.
However, after a few seconds, they could only sigh.
“If the Elves know there is a human roaming these areas, they will be pissed,” Cyran said with a chuckle.
“Those bastards, all they know is how to do this and that to make the lives of others much more painful.”
“I only pray this time, the people from our side get to enter the Supreme Immortal Sect,” Arion added, causing Kent to ask a question.
Of course, Shax already told him what was happening, but hearing from them would be much more beneficial.
“Is something happening in your kingdom?” Kent asked.
“Yes,” Arion answered. “The Flame Tower will be opening in three weeks, where geniuses from all over the world will enter to comprehend flame techniques.
Those who manage to comprehend a technique to some stage will have a chance to enter the Supreme Immortal Sect and become a disciple if they pass their exams.”
“Tell me more.”
“Very well. The Supreme Immortal Sect is the largest and strongest sect in the entire world. It is the place where the best of the best are sent.
Rumor has it they have the means to even go to other medium-level worlds and compete in competitions, explore runes, and many more.
Some rumors say they have access to even more rewarding yet dangerous places than the Ancient Battlefield of Parting, where they send their disciples to train and hunt for treasures.
So many rumors about them, but one thing is sure: they are indeed the place to become the best of the best. Even outer-area disciples from there can enter the core section of the Flame Valley.”
Kent raised his brow.
“I even learned that some core disciples from the Supreme Immortal Sect had already ascended after passing a test.
That sect is a place where they create monsters, and while I, or any of us, don’t have the talent to enter that place, many who possess some qualifications want to join.
Entering the Flame Tower marks the beginning for them. Of course, there are other ways to enter the Supreme Immortal Sect… but the easiest is the Flame Tower.
Initially, it was based on selection, but this time the King wants to hold an open competition to select the top five to enter the Flame Tower, which is opening in three weeks.”
“Then, if it is open, why won’t you three enter?” Kent asked.
“We don’t have the flame element, which is a major requirement before you can register your name. However, even if we did possess the fire element and somehow entered the top five, we couldn’t simply enter the Flame Tower and expect to gain entry to the Supreme Immortal Sect as well.
They only select those at the core formation stage, and the age is below 100. We are older than a hundred years, so we can’t even start to think we have a future if we want to enter such a world of geniuses.”
The three shook their heads with weak smiles.
“Don’t look down on yourselves,” Kent said as a word of encouragement. At least learning something new about this world was a bonus to him.
He had already been to a high world and the Flame Valley, and so far, he had started to see some changes. First, the Flame Valley was a dangerous place.
Most of the Flame beasts he killed were dangerous. Ordinary warriors would have fallen, but he had just learned that Outer Disciples from the Supreme Immortal Sect can enter the Core area of the Flame Valley.
This means that the Inner and Core disciples will be among the most powerful warriors in the world.
Kent compared them to Fedora and knew that such a high world didn’t live up to its name. He expected dangerous beings, but they were above average in his opinion.
Of course, Vexthra told him high worlds are dangerous, but also said Fedora is one of the weakest. This then means it isn’t about the world; it was more about the dangers surrounding it that push one to seek more strength.
The Foxkins are seeking more strength, which one day will make them much more dangerous than they are now.
Additionally, within the Flame Valley, the beasts had to adapt to survive, becoming equally dangerous. The same principle applied to the Ancient Battlefield of Parting; those roaming there continued to grow stronger.
Now, he knew the Supreme Immortal Sect was the same; only the best survive, and he intended to get in and see what he could gain from there.
