The crowd jeered. They have the power of numbers that's why they have the galls to shout at Chihua and Trisha but neither of them went on it.
"There are only two rules."
pαпdα Йᴏνê|,сòМ Gomaro spoke while his back was leaning onto the steel nets. Hearing this, some people understood what he meant. There was no cheating.
As long as they can still stand up before the remaining people turned ten, they still have a chance. Then, doesn't that mean that the first ones that were knocked out have a chance right now?
Realizing this, many of those who lied on the ground stood up, reaching the people there up to twenty. However, there are some who crawled to the edge. They no longer want to participate but they cannot go out. They could only get out of the way as they've also been beaten by being stepped on.. Sometimes, they were cushions for those who fell.
In that chaotic scene, those who were knocked down first didn't really have the advantage depending on where they fell. If they fell in the middle, they will surely get beaten up by the mere traffic.
Now that more people 'came back from the dead', there were no longer those who shouted that the glasses guy cheated.
Just like how Sean was just running, the glasses guy used a dirty strategy, maybe even the dirtiest strategy.
However, neither Trisha nor Chihua was impressed by this. They already saw it coming. Also, they were more interested in this guy's true power.
Sam immediately stood up, but the glasses guy kept kicking him down while not letting himself get grabbed on. It's like Sam was a plague from how much the glasses guy kept his distance.
"DAMN YOU!"
Sam was infuriated but he couldn't really stand up. Others began to move as well. There were no longer many obstacles on the ground. It was much easier to move after those who gave up moved out of the way.
At this moment, Sean and Gomaro looked at each other and nodded. They didn't want people doing what the glasses guy did anymore.
"Those who were lying down stay down! If we caught you standing up, we, the ones standing up will put our focus on you!"
Sean shouted, making the others that were lying down scared.
Those who were standing up agreed. They didn't want to be 'cheated' on too. Therefore, it would be better if they went along with what Sean said. If they spotted someone trying to stand up at the last moment, they will go to that guy and beat him up.
Meanwhile, Sam didn't care about this as he tried to stand up. After all, he was still in the middle of a battle. He had yet to lose. However, no matter how many times he tried to stand up, the glasses guy will kick him down, bring his balance to the side. It was as if he was on the most slippery ground in the world.
Even if he tried to catch the glasses guy without standing up, the glasses guy will just retreat. After all, humans are much faster on two legs.
While Sam was being beaten down little by little with small kicks, Bulldozer was finally up to the challenge again. But this time, he didn't try to tackle everyone. He went for individual fights.
Sean began to show off his skills as well. However, he was only winning because of his reserved stamina and also because of his ruthlessness. In terms of strength, he was lower than the average competitor here.
The battle was finally coming to an end.
Once the eleventh person dropped, the battle will end. From twenty, the numbers slowly dwindled to seventeen, then to fifteen, then to twelve...
Sam was finally knocked out.
Sean was reaching his limits and that's why he just ran away. He waited for any two guys to fall for him to be one of the ten men standing.
Gomaro was falling onto his knees. He challenged the most people and if he were to rest right now, he will lose consciousness out of exhaustion.
'I'm really thirsty right now...!'
He huffed. He considered himself lucky since no one finally went against him nor did he battled anyone. They were too exhausted to continued fighting. They just want other people to fall down so that they will win.
The Panther, Vander, was one of the people who stood up again after the glasses guy. He was no longer chasing Sean.
There was no longer a fight inside the court. The twelve people were just staring at each other. Most of them were too exhausted to challenge anyone. However, they couldn't create an alliance too since they were against each other.
In that deadlock, everyone was holding their breath. The battle was currently at its climax. Who will move first? Or will they wait to regain their stamina before fighting again?
But against everyone's expectations, a guy wearing a hat moved and walked towards Vander.
Now that they looked at him. Isn't he doing fine?
"I didn't notice him. Did he fight even once?"
"I forgot he's in the match..."
"He's wearing a hat, why is it that I don't remember him that much?"
"He's a no-name but he reached the top 12."
While everyone was talking about him, shocked to see that they only noticed him now, Vander looked at this guy with a hat with suspicion.
"You want to fight?"
"Hehe, what a guy, you're chosen for a 1v1!"
Sean laughed, seeing his rival become the center of attention. Inwardly though, he was also curious about the guy under the hat. But he was not that bothered. After all, he has his focus on other things as well.
"Fuu-! Okay, let's do this..."
Vander exhaled readying himself. He was not the most exhausted one and he still have some fight in him. Therefore, he did not back down.
The guy with the hat just continued walking to him as if he just wanted to greed Vander. His walk was not rushed nor was it slow... it was casual.
Once they've come face-to-face, Vander stayed cautious, waiting for the hat guy to move. But before he could react, his left shoulder was held and another palm struck his left cheek.
Crack*
The last thing he saw was the world's abrupt shift before it turned dark. His body fell like a puppet with its string cut.
