“Maugnetics need to apply a combination of Soo and their blood to their Mithril Relics for it to be usable.

There are two reasons why they do this. First, the blood will allow the Mithril Relic to be bonded to the Maugnetic. It will allow them to much more easily channel their Aubilities through this weapon.

The second reason is that the Soo has a special property that allows the Mithril Relic to withstand the power of a Diva. Without Soo, the Mithril Relic would start to disintegrate per use, completely wasting the weapon.”

Seberus then gestured to Michael to give him the Mithril Relic. “May I?’

Michael gave it to him, and the Tower Master began to inspect the weapon.

“Do you see this oily sheen on the blade?” he asked.

Michael looked at the weapon and saw an unmistakable glean on the metal itself. It was as if it was dipped in oil, yet the texture of the weapon itself was the same as any other weapon. Not only that, but there seemed to be strange colors in the oil that reflected off the light.

“That is Soo. From what I can tell, this weapon has been oiled up twice, meaning that Blazelle was probably in the second stage of Body Formation, am I correct?”

He was spot on.

“Each time that a Maugnetic wants to advance to the next stage of their Body Formation cultivation, they have to undergo two processes.

First, they have to undergo surgery in order to put the new GodForge pieces into their hearts. Second, they have to apply another coat of Soo onto their Mithril Relic.”

Michael thought for a second. “So, if someone wants to get surgery, they have to seek an Apothecary from the conglomerate Sinclair’s Elixir. Does that mean that they also have to find someone to apply Soo onto their Mithril Relic?”

“Very astute of you to guess. That is correct. Applying Soo to a Mithril Relic is a very laborious task, and one that requires extreme skill and specialized powers. If one gets it wrong, not only will they damage the Mithril Relic, but they will also waste the very rare Soo.

Sinclair’s Elixirs monopolizes the surgery for Maugnetics. Meanwhile, the leading service provider for Soo application is the Hepheastaeus company.

It’s not really a monopoly like Sinclair’s because there are others that can apply Soo as well, but it’s generally accepted that the Hephaestus company delivers the best service.”

Michael took this all in, finally understanding the world of Maugnetics a little bit better.

If he wanted to control his Aubility better, then that meant he needed to get his own Mithril Relic coated with Soo.

Seberus noticed that excited look on Michael’s face and immediately helped him out.

“You’re planning to expand your Golden Road further up north, right?”

Michael nodded. Now that they conquered the East, it was now time to go deeper in the Queens region.

“Then that means you’ll eventually end up in Metropolis—the city of cities.

That is where you’ll find a subcompany of Sinclair’s Elixir. If you want to learn more about Maugnetics and the surgery it takes to become one, then you should go visit them.

If you want to learn more about the application of Soo in Mithril Relics, then you’ll also be able to find a subcompany of the Hephaestus company there. They won’t tell you their secret process to do it, but they’ll surely answer any other question pertaining to weapons and Maugnetics.”

Michael noted all of that down. It was everything he needed to find out more about Maugnetics. But, there was something missing.

“You didn’t tell me how I’ll get Soo.”

Seberus pursed his lips. “Well, you’ll just have to pray that you’re lucky. The Spirit of Old comes from deep in the oceans, even deeper than Atlantis. The product is controlled by none other than the Ocean King. It is extremely hard to obtain just a single drop of Soo just lying around.

Once in a blue moon, a vial of Spirit of Old is sold at the auction house in Metropolis. That’s where you’re likely to find Soo.

As for how expensive it is, I can only say that it’s priceless. Every company is trying hard to obtain one for themselves, which drives up the price even more. The ones that can obtain it are the ones that are able to fork up the most money.”

If there was one thing that Michael lacked, then it certainly wasn’t money. Sure, the expenses of all the projects and renovation on all their territories put a good dent on their treasury, but the profit that they would get in the future would definitely pump up more and more money in his pockets.

But, money wasn’t the problem. It was whether he could chance upon Soo in an auction.

“Then I’ll definitely visit Metropolis as soon as I can,” he said, with ChatJK4 making a mental note of it.

“Why wait? You can do it now.”

Michael looked back at Seberus. “But don’t I need to gather up my forces?”

Seberus chuckled. “You don’t need to worry about that in Metropolis. It is a neutral zone that forbids major war amongst any company or faction.”

“But what about Flarecorp?”

Seberus sighed. “Flarecorp has drawn the ire of most companies and factions in Metropolis. They don’t like the way that Flarecorp has ruthlessly conquered Batchrock town. That is not the way that companies should conquer territories.

I won’t be surprised if they form a coalition to free Batchrock town from Flarecorp. Trust me, Flarecorp will probably be disbanded in a few months.”

Michael was glad to hear that not all companies acted like Flarecorp.

“If you’re going to Metropolis, you’ll probably be running into them.”

“Them?”

“The Legacies. They’re the subcompanies of the five top conglomerates of the world. They’re the factions that are in Metropolis besides the Order and the Guild of Arcana.

With their combined strength, Flarecorp will have no choice but to run away in fear.

You should meet with them. They’re nice people,” Seberus said.

Since the Tower Master himself had vouched for them, then Michael couldn’t wait to meet them.

“And if you’re going to be expanding your company in Metropolis, then it’s more than likely that you’ll join the major factions there, no doubt about it. Once they find out all of your accomplishments here, then you’ll probably go up the ranks hahaha.”

Seberus laughed as he looked up at the sky, wanting to see the look on those Legacies’ faces once they met with Michael. Surely, he won’t be the only victim to his surprising talents.

“Then, I’ll try and visit Metropolis as soon as possible. I think it’ll be good to meet those Legacies too,” he replied.

Since they were subcompanies of major conglomerates, then it was very likely that their leader was a Maugnetic themselves.

It would be nice to learn more about them from someone Maugnetic. Blazelle didn’t even want to talk to him after she lost her Diva.

“Thanks for the info,” he said to Seberus, saying his goodbye.

“We’re not finished with the game yet—”

But then, Michael moved his queen and forced a checkmate.

While the Tower Master slumped down in his chair, Michael turned into a shadow and transported himself out.

It was then that people heard the sound of frustrated shouting coming from Seberus’ room in the Nation of Reborn.
