By the side of a small stream in the Land of Fire.

Konan used her ‘Paper Ninjutsu’ to wrap the unconscious Naruto and Fū like mummies, and then telekinetically controlled them into the air. Once she was done sealing the two Jinchuriki, she turned to Nagato, “All right, with this, they won’t be able to break free. Let’s go.”

Nagato nodded lightly, “Hmm.” The two proceeded to leave for the new base of the Akatsuki Organization.

Whoosh!

Just as the two founding members of the Akatsuki Organization had started to walk, suddenly, there was a silver flash. As the silver flash disappeared, a Shinobi landed between the two floating Jinchuriki.

This is none other than Hatake Kakashi.

Due to Kuroto’s warning in regard to the chances of the Akatsuki Organization making their move and attempting to capture the Jinchuriki amidst the chaos caused by the Uchiha Clan’s Coup, Naruto and Fū were sent to Mount Myōboku to avert this potential crisis. However, Kuroto remained unconvinced by this and instructed Kakashi to place a Flying Raijin Mark on both Naruto and Fū so that even if they are taken away, they can be rescued.

This was the very reason Elder Hiruzen had specifically instructed Kakashi to retrieve Naruto and Fū.

Although Kakashi’s sudden appearance took aback Nagato and Konan, they responded swiftly, “It’s Hatake Kakashi!”

Konan immediately took control of both Jinchuriki’s bodies and attempted to move them away from Kakashi. Meanwhile, Nagato raised his arm towards Kakashi.

While the two members of the Akatsuki took active measures to prevent Kakashi from taking them away the two Jinchuriki, Kakashi, who had just arrived, was a little confused and tried to understand the situation.

Both Jinchuriki were covered in papers, making it difficult to identify who was Naruto and who was Fū.

Additionally, Nagato and Konan reacted to his arrival, leaving him with limited time. He chose the one closest to him and pressed his hand on it.

Whoosh!

Instantly, one of the paper-covered Jinchuriki disappeared in a silver flash. Kakashi, after sending away one of Konoha’s Jinchuriki, turned around and rushed toward the second one.

Just as he was about to touch the second Jinchuriki, Nagato’s cold voice echoed, ‘Shinra Tensei!’ A tremendous repulsive force acted on him, sending him flying.

BOOM!

The repulsive force was so potent that Kakashi was launched out like a cannonball. He plowed through several large trees one after another, creating a dust cloud that stretched for hundreds of meters through the once-quiet forest.

“It seems we were a bit careless,” Nagato muttered as he noticed the absence of one of the two Jinchuriki. He hadn’t considered that Konoha would mark the Jinchuriki with the Flying Raijin Mark. His carelessness led to one of the captured Jinchuriki being rescued by Hatake Kakashi.

Such a mistake was intolerable for him. He couldn’t allow Kakashi to retrieve the other Jinchuriki either. Letting that happen would render tonight’s efforts in vain. He didn’t know when he would get such a favorable opportunity again. Immediately, he set his sights on the second Jinchuriki and employed one of his Limbo Clones to shield it.

With the Limbo Clone protecting the Jinchuriki, Nagato was certain that no one in the Shinobi World, except Yama, could take it away from him. He patiently awaited Kakashi’s move.

Crack!

Suddenly, the ground beneath his feet cracked as a lightning-covered Kakashi burst forth and launched an attack on Nagato.

Chiiiiiirrrr!

Faced with Kakashi’s assault, Nagato didn’t evade; instead, he caught Kakashi by the neck and absorbed the lightning enveloping him, asserting, “Futile!”

“Maybe…” Kakashi mumbled, then smiled, “Or maybe not…” Abruptly, his form transformed into lightning, and he lunged at Nagato. However, it wasn’t the genuine Hatake Kakashi; it was a Lightning Clone.

Zzzzzz!

Nevertheless, the lightning failed to produce its intended effect, as Nagato absorbed all of it, rendering it seemingly nonexistent.

Poof! Poof!

As the dazzling light faded, a sudden explosion occurred. A smoke bomb burst, releasing a cloud of smoke that enveloped the surroundings, obstructing everyone’s view.

Whoosh!

Utilizing the cover of the smoke, the real Kakashi materialized beside the Jinchuriki, attempting to retrieve the second one.

‘Successfully done!’ Kakashi thought, a glimmer of joy in his eyes as he activated the Flying Raijin Mark. A silver flash emerged.

Whoosh! However, before he could revel in his success, an unexpected turn of events unfolded, prompting him to exclaim, ‘This?’

“Phew… if I had been just a moment later, he would have rescued the second one as well,” Konan murmured.

“In the brief moment when Kakashi was about to activate the Flying Raijin, Konan swiftly deployed her papers to create multiple layers between Kakashi and the Jinchuriki. As a result, what vanished was not the Jinchuriki themselves, but the papers that covered them.

Before Kakashi could react to this abrupt change or attempt to activate the Flying Raijin once again, an invisible force struck his gut with tremendous power.

Boom!

Once again, just like a cannonball, he was blasted away.

*Cough-Cough*

Kakashi coughed up blood. “That hurts like hell… If I’m hit by another of those attacks, I’m surely dead,” he muttered as he rose and looked toward Nagato, Konan, and the Jinchuriki they were safeguarding.

In his previous attempt to retrieve the second Jinchuriki, Kakashi had inadvertently sent away Konan’s paper creation. A small gap appeared in the papers that had covered the Jinchuriki. Kakashi could now identify the individual, and his expression darkened. “This one is Naruto… Which means the one I sent before was Fū…!”
