Chapter 662: Craniotomy for Uncle Logan

"What! My Uncle Wolf has woken up!?"

Fang Mo turned to the other person, a look of joy and excitement on his face: "Great! Quickly arrange the surgery, I will personally operate to preserve his arm!"

"...Uh, what?"

The woman seemed a bit confused upon hearing this.

She soon noticed the large pit in the center of the reception room and the solid gold toilet tilted inside it, making her even more bewildered: "Wait, what is this... a toilet? Why is there a toilet in the reception room?"

"Jean, this is a gift from Mr. Fang Mo to the academy."

Charles, clearly also a bit troubled, tried to explain calmly for his student.

"You said this is a gift?"

The woman, addressed as Jean, looked surprised. She glanced at the toilet on the ground, then turned to look at Fang Mo not far away.

Although she did not say it outright, her expression said it all.

It was a look full of suspicion, alertness, and confusion. To Jean, this man called Fang Mo was simply too suspicious. After all, who in their right mind would give a toilet as a gift?

"Jean, don't misunderstand."

Charles, noticing Jean's expression, quickly intervenes to prevent her from saying something that might make Fang Mo do something even stranger. "Although this looks... odd, it comes from an old agreement. Jean, Fang Mo is someone very important to me over the decades, both as a teacher and a friend. Do not hold hostility towards him."

Charles was not speaking randomly.

He truly thought this way.

If it were not for Fang Mo's words back then, he would not have deeply experienced such hope and despair, nor would he have faced those sufferings and become the Professor X he is today.

To Charles, it was Fang Mo who taught him how to grow.

"...Is that so?"

Since even the professor said so, Jean could not say much more. She politely nodded to Fang Mo: "I'm sorry, I misunderstood you."

"Oh~ it's alright."

Fang Mo waved his hand with a smile: "Charles and I are old friends who played together since we were kids... ahem, I mean to say, we've been friends for a long time, so sometimes we joke without much regard for propriety. Sorry for the misunderstanding."

As he spoke, Fang Mo observed Jean.

Having read the original works, he knew that she was actually the final boss in the X-Men trilogy.

This woman's full name is Jean Grey, and her mutant ability is quite versatile—telekinesis, with some telepathic abilities.

In theory, she can manipulate any matter and use telepathy to influence anyone. It's like if Magneto and Professor X had a child, but the only flaw is... her superpowers are very weak, far inferior to those two.

Jean becomes a major villain because she supposedly possesses a portion of the Phoenix Force.

In the Marvel universe, the Phoenix Force is highly regarded, considered the embodiment of primal mental and life forces, the anchor linking all minds, and the source of all spiritual energy in the multiverse.

Fang Mo didn't fully understand the explanations but knew it was very powerful.

After all, this force had previously killed Professor X in the old timeline and Apocalypse in the new timeline, and even destroyed planets and civilizations. Its strength was indeed extraordinary.

Fang Mo called Jean the final boss because of this force.

Though the comic's setup differed from the movies, essentially, Jean housed a portion of the Phoenix Force, making her god-like. Fang Mo vaguely remembered it being a fifth of the Phoenix shard, but he might have misremembered due to the long time.

As a child, Jean couldn't control this power, leading to fear from others.

Charles, who founded the mutant school and advocated for helping all mutants, responded to a request and went with Erik to handle the matter.

But Charles couldn't help Jean control this power, so he made a rash decision to use his mental powers to create a cage, locking Jean's power and dark personality in her subconscious, forming a mental prison.

Eventually, this personality broke free, starting to destroy the world.

Fang Mo had mentioned before that Charles had various deaths: twisted by Scarlet Witch, stabbed by Wolverine's clone, killed by Sentinels, turned to ash... this ashing was done by Dark Phoenix.

"...Mr. Fang Mo?"

Jean, feeling Fang Mo's gaze, asked curiously, "Is there something on my face?"

"Oh, no."

Reminded, Fang Mo shook his head: "I just saw some visions of your future, got a bit distracted."

"Visions of the future?"

Jean instinctively covered her mouth: "Mr. Fang Mo, is your mutant ability... seeing the future?"

Jean couldn't help but be surprised. She had seen many space-based superpowers at the academy, but this future-seeing ability was a first. The idea was frightening; who wouldn't want to know their future?

"Well... Mr. Fang Mo."

After thinking, Jean couldn't resist asking: "What does my future look like, can you tell me?"

"Wait, Fang Mo."

Hearing this, Charles instinctively frowned.

Charles was, of course, aware that Fang Mo wasn't just talking nonsense; the latter truly had the ability to see the future. Otherwise, why would he keep mentioning from the start that he needed a wheelchair, right?

However, considering the Dark Phoenix within Jean.

Charles was still a bit hesitant to let her know too much: "Do not reveal too much about the future..."

But before Charles could finish speaking.

Fang Mo spread his hands and began speaking to Jean earnestly and directly: "It's a bit embarrassing to say, but I saw my Uncle Wolverine crying while stabbing you. He stabbed you so forcefully, it was as if he wanted to pierce through you."

"What???"

Not only was Jean stunned, but even Charles, who was about to stop him, was dumbfounded.

Logan?

That self-healing mutant?

He would be holding his student and stabbing her in the future? And crying while doing it?

Being an Omega-level telepath, Charles's brain was extremely powerful, and he instantly conjured up an image of Wolverine and Phoenix together, making him feel utterly unsettled.

"Um, Fang Mo."

Charles felt like he might need a quick-acting heart pill: "I have to clarify, Jean already has a boyfriend."

"Oh, I know."

Fang Mo waved his hand nonchalantly: "It's that guy named Scott, right? The one who keeps shooting beams uncontrollably the moment he opens his eyes. No worries, I've got some green cactus dye here. I'll steal his visor while he's asleep and dye it green..."

"..."

Hearing Fang Mo's words, Charles fell into another long silence.

"Mr. Fang Mo, are you serious?"

However, unlike her teacher, Jean, being a woman, furrowed her brow instinctively upon hearing this: "I don't think... I would do such a thing."

"I think so too."

Surprisingly, Fang Mo did not insist on his statement but rather agreed with a smile: "The future isn't set in stone; it can be changed. So I intend to change this tragic outcome."

"Then... what do you plan to do?"

Jean was slightly taken aback by Fang Mo's words. To be honest, she didn't have a good impression of him and thought he was mocking her, but now it seemed that wasn't the case?

"Simple."

Fang Mo snapped his fingers and then pointed at Jean, saying, "Just stay away from Uncle Wolverine."

"Is... that all?"

Jean blinked.

"If you find that too simple, then spend more time with Scott." Fang Mo shrugged. This Cyclops guy really had it rough; in the original story, he not only got cuckolded but was also devoured by the Dark Phoenix in the end, leaving no remains. He was the most miserable male character in the entire X-Men series.

"...Alright."

Hearing this, Jean was even more confused about what Fang Mo was thinking.

But before she could make sense of it, a series of footsteps sounded outside, followed by a creak as the reception room door opened once more.

"Professor, I think you should take a look."

Accompanied by a familiar voice, the very Cyclops who had just been discussed—Scott—pushed the door open and walked in: "The man we brought back seems to have gone mad. He's running around with steel claws, and I'm worried he might scare the other kids... Jean? You're here too?"

"Scott, I'm here to report on this as well."

Seeing her lover, Jean's expression turned a bit awkward: "The professor... already knows about this."

"Oh, I see."

Scott didn't suspect anything upon hearing the words, but he quickly noticed Fang Mo nearby and a golden toilet in the large pit on the ground. "Wait, why is there a toilet on the ground?"

"I heard it's a gift," Jean replied.

"Huh? A toilet as a gift?" Scott's straightforward nature showed as he couldn't help but react.

Before he could say more, Charles spoke up.

"Scott, Jean, I am aware of the situation you reported," Charles took a deep breath and struggled to maintain his calm demeanor. "You two can leave now; I will handle this."

"Well... alright."

The two exchanged a glance but soon left the conference room together.

"Did you just see something?" As soon as they left, Charles immediately turned to Fang Mo. "Are you aware of Jean's condition? Will there be any issues later?"

"You've got some nerve, using a mental cage to seal the Phoenix," Fang Mo remarked, giving Charles a sharp look. "No wonder your deaths are always so peculiar. Do you believe that the Dark Phoenix won't kill you first when she emerges?"

"Of course, I know that," Charles replied with a bitter smile. "But I had no choice at the time, she..."

Before he could finish, Charles suddenly paused, looking up at Fang Mo. "Logan seems to be heading this way, but... why does he look like he's lost his memory?"

"His hairstyle looked too much like Kennedy's before, and Stryker couldn't resist shooting him in the head," Fang Mo responded irritably. "But his regeneration ability is strong, so despite two bullets in his head, he just has amnesia."

"I see," Charles instinctively nodded. "No wonder he seems so agitated..."

"Bang!"

Before Charles could finish his sentence, there was a loud noise as the solid wooden door of the reception room was violently kicked open.

Logan, shirtless, charged in immediately.

His condition was not good. Waking up in an unfamiliar environment had made him tense, and even his claws were extended.

After rushing into the reception room, Logan looked around cautiously. Soon, he noticed Fang Mo, first pausing in surprise, then frowning and rushing over. His right hand claws retracted, and he grabbed Fang Mo's collar fiercely.

"You'd better give me a clear explanation!" Logan roared. "What is this place, and why am I here?"

"Calm down, Logan, calm down," Fang Mo remained unfazed by Logan's aggressive attitude, considering his amnesia-induced agitation as understandable. "This is Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. I recently took a job here as the school doctor. You mentioned wanting a craniotomy, and since the equipment here is comprehensive, I brought you over."

"Who said I wanted a craniotomy?" Logan frowned. "I don't like the environment here; I want to leave."

"Look at your current state, how miserable you are," Fang Mo sighed. "Before you lost your memory, you loved staying here... Now you look like a wounded lone wolf, it's really pitiful."

At this point, Fang Mo's expression suddenly became serious.

"No, as your good friend, I can't let you continue like this."

As he spoke, Fang Mo drew his Manyullyn Cleaver, one of the few old companions he hadn't discarded. "Since you're awake, let's just go ahead and perform the craniotomy."

"Craniotomy? With that thing?" Logan shouted as soon as he saw the cleaver. "Are you planning a craniotomy or an execution?"
