REINCARNATED AS A SON OF THE SWORD SAINT AND THE SAGE
Chapter 513 - 513: Putting An End To The Match“Berserker’s Wrath!”
Boris yeeted his ultimate move on his opponent. It was a certain technique that locked that target with a guaranteed hit rate regardless of the distance and the target’s resistance and immunity to attacks, with the exception of a few defensive skills like the Ultimate Arts.
Erik knew that the axe would hit him even with the Partial Body Migration. He could just deploy Impregnable Fortress or Infinity Barrier to protect himself, but he could not resort to revealing those abilities in public.
It was virtually impossible to avoid and intercept that flying axe. With that, he decided to counter it with a reasonably acquirable move even if doing so would surely break his weapon.
While the axe was still in the air, Erik lowered his hips and grabbed the hilt of his sword. For a split second, his body emitted a pale golden glow before it somewhat accumulated in his blade.
When the axe reached a certain distance, Erik immediately made his final move.
“Flash Strike.”
In an instant, Erik jumped from his spot, leaving indents of his feet on the floor, and rushed straight to Boris. With the sword on the way, Erik’s lightning-covered blade collided with it.
Despite the material differences, the speed of the rapier managed to break and destroy the axe. Since it happened so unbelievably fast, not even Boris made a reaction. However, due to the amount of force in the collision, his blade still snapped in half.
But the sword still had some blade, and Erik continued his way to Boris. When Erik got near to Boris, he just held his broken sword tightly horizontally and let the blade pass through Boris’s ribs as Erik was not directly having a collision course with him.
The blade easily cut his flesh, cleaved his bones, and sliced Boris’s organs, including a part of his heart. With the lightning, the blade inflicted some burns. The blade cut him so clean that it did not affect Boris’s falling velocity.
When the blade passed through his body, Erik then used Instantaneous Movement to divert his direction to the floor as he would be going out of bounds. Erik hit the floor and even rolled over a few times. As soon as Erik struggled to get up to his knees, the dull sound of Boris’s falling body reached his ears.
Thud.
Erik slowly stood up and turned around to see that Boris’s body had been bathed in his own blood. Surprisingly, silence filled the entire coliseum as the crowd was still processing what just happened. They were stunned in disbelief at what they just witnessed.
“What just happened…?”
“Did Boris the Terror lose…?”
“I cannot believe it… This can’t be true…”
“My money…”
“Who the hell is he?!”
Murmurs then slowly replaced the silence as more and more people realized the outcome of the match. Some were still dropping their jaws, and a few lost their minds. But cheers could be heard in the minority.
A few seconds later, Boris’s body glowed before his bracelet shattered into pieces. His body had been healed and started twitching before Boris struggled to stand up.
“Ah… Um… The, the winner of this match… goes to… Erik The Phantom Fencer…! He has advanced to the most awaited grand finals!”
The referee just recovered from his shock, and he stuttered a few words announcing Erik’s victory. The first finalist for this year’s Imperial Battle Tournament had been declared, and the other finalists would be named later on.

In the VIP seats at the same time…
The fight between Erik and Boris just ended, and they were currently shaking hands in the arena. Since I could see what Erik was seeing, it seemed like Boris was complimenting and congratulating him, remarking that Erik was the strongest one he had fought.
It looked like Boris was kind of a chill man and could show respect for others in spite of his intimidating appearance. Well, after having a huge shock earlier, the audience was apparently surprised that Boris was humbled like that.
Here in this room, most of these wealthy viewers showed the same reaction as everyone. Others were pissed that they lost massive amounts of gold. Though not as intensive as them, my sister went speechless in disbelief, but she was more likely inclined to being curious than anything.
“What the hell? I thought Erik was only around Level 500. Boris is statistically superior and appeared to be using divine art techniques, but Erik is a divine art user as well?”
“Well, he just used Flash Strike to finish Boris after all.”
“It means that Erik is a more superior fighter at all. But who Erik really is behind that mask? To be able to defeat the empire’s number one active adventurer in a deathmatch, his timing of appearance sounds suspicious to me.”
I did not want to answer that question, so I tried to detail the topic.
“But the most important question is, what could Prince Edward say about this? He probably thought that his armor was enough to defeat Boris, which I find hard to believe, but it seems like fate is against him.”
“Indeed. Edward had probably planned this out. If it’s true, he must be panicking inside right now as he had to fight a much bigger threat. But my money is on the Phantom Fencer. I cannot forget what he had done to Christine.”
Of course, my sister uttered the latter in low volume so that those imperial bootlickers would not hear her. We were now royals, and any words coming out of our mouths could be used against us. Better be careful.
“Louise…” Christine held my sister’s hand tighter. “I really appreciate you for thinking of me that far.”
Christine then drew her lips closer to Big Sis’s ear and softly whispered her next words.
“I don’t care if he was the next ruler of my nation. I wanted Edward to feel some humiliation and face defeat. I want him to realize that not everything is revolving around him.”
“Woah. I never thought of you being that spiteful, Christine. But yeah.”
Having the same thoughts, Christine and my sister had been becoming more flirty with one another, though they were like holding hands and putting heads on shoulders.
“Alright, excuse me, ladies. I’ll be back.” I stood up.
“Hmm? Where are you going, Raphael?” My sister asked.
“Well, I’ll be sponsoring someone.”
“…” My sister thought for a while before she realized my plan. “I see. Go ahead.”
I gave Sister a nod before I left the VIP seats.
