FLUOSH!

The Waters of the lake trembled and quickly gathered together into a gigantic, beautiful woman. Made completely out of flowing water and spiritual energies, her figure was just like Aquarina had seen in the paintings, she looked very motherly and beautifully mature. With wide hips, large breasts, long hair, and beautiful rainbow eyes with very long eyelashes. Her face was beautiful, perfect in every way.

She held such an air of divine majesty that it was hard to believe she was just a spirit living in the Oasis. And well, the people living here would argue against anybody calling her “simple” anyway, as she was close to a goddess to them.

Aquarina and Agua held their breaths while looking at the scene, Justicio and Silvia were perhaps even worse. Pyuku seemed surprised, his eyes widening even though he tried to stay calm as usual.

Undine, by the side of Aquarina, looked at the Spirit with surprise too, her eyebrows raised in surprise, she was admiring a senior of hers.

“My Children of the Oasis, you’ve called me, and I have come. Now tell me, what is troubling you?”

She opened her eyes, as they shone with rainbow light, the light spread everywhere, creating an aurora borealis-like domain everywhere, separating the people inside the formation and those in their surroundings from the rest of the world.

Everything turned into a world of rainbows, stars, the moon, and flowing water everywhere, they were surprised. Nepheline and Shade instinctively held their guards high, even though they knew this spirit had no hostility.

After all, being dragged into a Spiritual Domain while barely noticing wasn’t something normal at all!

“S-So she’s the Oasis Spirit? Woah…” Aquarina muttered.

“Yes… Please be respectful, Aquarina,” Agua nodded, as the Priestess of the Oasis, she glanced at the Spirit. “We’ve called for your help, great mother of the Oasis.”

“Agua, my dear priestess… It seems you’ve brought along a new friend. I detect great power and connection with water within her… It appears to be that she has been blessed by the Gods that govern the Element of Water. Is that right?”

“Y-Yeah…” Aquairna nodded nervously. “I am not too fond of them though.

“A-Aquarina!” Agua felt embarrassed she was so casual about this.

“I see, I suppose we share the same sentiment. We Spirits of the world have never been fond of the Gods. But through our ancient contract, we remain in a truce. Peace, but perhaps only temporary, until when…? I am not sure myself.”

“E-Eh?” Agua was surprised the Oasis Spirit was so open about it.

“Nonetheless, Aquarina is very special. Blessed by these gods, she possess great power and is beloved by water and the spirits anyway. She holds within her shoulders a great power, but also an even greater responsibility. I am curious, why are you here?”

“We came here to just… Well, explore, and look for someone’s lost object. We ended up finding it inside the underground dungeon that’s been forming. Do you know anything about that?” Aquarina asked nonchalantly, without even using manners.

“Uwaah! I-I’m so sorry for her disrespectful tone, great mother of the Oasis!” Agua cried while lowering her head.

“Fufu, it is fine, my dear priestess. Although I prefer to be referred to with manners and respect, your friend is a free spirit that might never change, for the better or the worse. But that free spirit also makes her someone very pure and kindhearted. A very special human.”

“A-Ahaha, you don’t really need to praise me this much…” Aquarina giggled, feeling embarrassed.

“And yes, I do know about that dungeon… It appeared a few years ago, and it has been slowly growing larger. It is a concentration of Miasma and other energies, a natural occurrence in this world where the Evil God of Dungeons has imbued his Authority. But Dungeons can’t be all bad, they serve a great purpose in the world by cleansing negative energies, pollution, and creating monsters and other resources by synthetizing them.”

“I-Is that a good thing?” Agua wondered.

“Of course it is, having a dungeon down here will serve greatly at cleansing nature and keeping the jungle healthy… Agua, the world has a much more delicate balance than you imagine, even things that are perceived as evil or dangerous serve a great purpose in keeping the world as it is.”

“I-I understand, great mother of the Oasis…” Agua nodded nervously. “I suppose we should first ask the question and the very reason we’re here right now, right mother?”

“Yes, with all my respect, great spirit of the Oasis, we wanted to ask you a favor,” the chief said.

“Speak. And I may consider it if it is within my capabilities.”

The chief nodded, as she started speaking.

“We wanted to request your permission to allow my daughter to step out of the Oasis while still holding your Blessing,” explained the chief. “She has met Aquarina, her first friend in many years. And she has invited her to come with her on a journey together. She also wanted her to join her in the Inheritance Trials of the Ancient Stone Hero, which will be held in a week from now.”

“…I see.”

The Great Oasis Spirit didn’t nod immediately, but remained in silence for a moment, while thinking it out very carefully.

She glanced at Aquarina, then Silvia, Justicio, and Pyuku… And stopping after she glanced at the young slime, she noticed his familiar connection with Aquarina.

Then she noticed Undine and Leviathan, they were also very strong spirits, her fellow kindred.

Agua was very nervous as this happened, looking like she was about to cry even.

Aquarina smiled at her, patting her shoulders gently, trying to calm her down.

And then she finally spoke.

“Very well.”

“R-Really?!” Agua gasped. “T-Thank you so much great Oasis Spirit!”

“Of course, not without a proper trial, you must prove yourself and your friend as fitting to carry on the blessing I’ve given you. I am a Great Spirit, an evolved form of a Spirit. I am the closest to ascending into a Divine Spirit. The existence of a Priestess and the Oasis Village is what has helped me progress this far.”

Agua and Aquarina nodded.

“Therefore, you must undergo a small trial to prove you’re capable enough. You must destroy the four Giant Fire Ant Nests in this jungle and offer me most of their Mana Cores.”
