Chapter 929: SilentWhisper Vs Nash

With the decision made, no time was wasted as SilentWhisper chose the battlefield of her liking.

"I want the open field," SilentWhisper exclaimed. Unlike Steelshot who chose an environment that allowed stealth, she preferred to avoid any stealth elements.

After all, she had witnessed how embarrassing Steelshot displayed was.

Moreover, she was certain that Nash was familiar with all sorts of battlefields in the training hall. Rather than putting herself at a disadvantage, an open field would ensure that only their skills and casting speed would be put to the test.

"I have no objection." Nash didn't mind the open field and was ready to enter the battlefield.

"My time is limited, so if you can end the battle within 3 minutes, then you can have an extended session." Xu Feng suddenly said.

Stunned, Nash's eyes widened as he turned to Xu Feng. "Is that true, Guild Leader?"

"When have I ever joked around with these types?" Xu Feng questioned in response.

Instantly, Nash curled his lips upward as he glanced at SilentWhisper. "Sorry, SilentWhisper, but I won't hold anything back."

Initially, Nash planned on letting her display some ability to maintain the harmony of their guild. Unfortunately, with Xu Feng's enticing reward put into play, Nash refused to let go of such an opportunity.

Meanwhile, Gentle Wind frowned as she felt that Xu Feng purposely rushed his members to end the battle decisively because of time constraints.

There had been rumors leaking that the Vanguard Guild negotiated a deal with the Cyclone Guild, which was the cause of the Malefic Order Guild ambush.

Although never confirmed, she had been paying attention to the news. Based on intel, it was said that the Cyclone Guild was making large-scale movements, along with many guilds in the other plane.

It wasn't hard to put the two and two together to construct a clear picture.

Alas, she wasn't in any position to talk as the two already entered the battlefield.

"The two of you may begin whenever." Xu Feng used the system to echo his voice to signal that they could fight.

In the battle stage, it was an open plot of land with no obstacles that could conceal one's presence.

Nash didn't bother to make any talks as he wielded his staff and unleashed a barrage of spells and debuffs.

Similarly, SilentWhisper narrowed her eyes and began to counter each of the spells.

Their casting speed was almost identical, but it was evident that Nash was the one having a slight edge over her.

"Not bad, you can actually chain 2 spells already," Nash commented and praised.

"Unfortunately, that's just the basic requirement for a Sorcerer to join the training hall." He continued and activated the trap that he had secretly cast.

The trap was called a Fissure, which snared the target beneath their feet.

Alarmed, SilentWhisper quickly used flight to avoid being swallowed by the fissure.

It was at that moment, a lightning bolt emerged from the sky, clearly ready for SilentWhisper's decision to fly upward.

"Tsk, not even giving a room for a breather." SilentWhisper gnashed her teeth and cast a medium barrier to endure the lightning bolt.

She didn't attempt to dodge because there was no gap available for her.

As the lightning bolt struck at her medium barrier, cracks started appearing in it. Simultaneously, the impact caused a knockback which threatened to slam her down to the incoming fissure.

Unwilling to be entangled further, SilentWhisper teleported away to a fixed distance.

Teleport was one of the survival and escape skills for a Sorcerer which allowed them to distance themselves from immediate danger.

Normally, that would be true, considering a Sorcerer could teleport to their allies for safety and protection.

"What a pity." Xu Feng suddenly shook his head when he saw SilentWhisper resorting to teleportation.

"What's the matter?" Iceheart asked curiously. She wasn't a Sorcerer, so she didn't understand the mechanic, much less the timing of the skill usage.

"Both of them are Sorcerers, so how could Nash not understand SilentWhisper might teleport to safety. The fissure and lightning bolt were just layers of schemes to direct her to the real danger." Before Xu Feng could answer, Gentle Wind exhaled softly and explained.

Her expression was rather complicated as she glanced at Nash. Her explanation might seem simple and easy to achieve, but it required triple-casting speed and fast calculation to pull off the trick.

The amount of concentration and training needed to display such a chain attack was mind-boggling to her. She found it hard to believe that such a talented player wasn't even ranked in the 100s in the training hall. 'This is no longer a spar, but a slaughterhouse.'

Sure enough, a few seconds after SilentWhisper thought she teleported to safety found herself chained up by multiple layers. Her skills were temporarily locked and she was stunned for a brief second.

And a second was enough to decide a battle.

In that moment, Nash unleashed his ultimate skill and annihilated all of SilentWhisper's health points.

Victory: Nash

"Thanks for the spar!" Nash quickly said once the battle stage returned to normal.

SilentWhisper's face was rather complicated as she realized how she couldn't even muster a counterattack. The combat experience between them was truly vast—so vast that she failed to even find a flaw in Nash.

'I was prepared mentally, but I couldn't even do anything.' Frustrated, SilentWhisper exited the battle stage with her head low. She didn't even dare to look at her Guild Leader.

"Don't keep your head low. You've done your best, so there's no need to be ashamed." Gentle Wind's voice resounded to her ears.

Surprised, she looked up and noticed her Guild Leader wasn't angry at all.

"B-But I couldn't even damage him." SilentWhisper bit her lips softly and said.

Meanwhile, Gentle Wind shook her head and sighed softly. "One could see the training hall's effect and if Nash had been sparring with his fellow members with similar skills. It's only right that his combat experience would be superior to you."

"That's correct." At this moment, Xu Feng chimed in and smiled lightly at them. "Nash might be ranked 104, but he sparred with a lot of people daily to maintain it."
