The words, “Heartbroken Chu Xiang,” quickly became trending online. Many of Chu Xiang’s fans kept spreading pictures that depicted the unreasonable allegations, further exposing the haters’ lack of evidence and weakening their stance regarding this matter. Each picture contained detailed explanatory diagrams that left no room for confusion. They hoped that, by doing so, they could open everyone’s eyes and prevent anyone from getting swept away by the haters’ tempo.

Those false accusations mentioned by the spammers who supported Mo Xinru could be found everywhere on the internet. Thus, Chu Xiang’s fans didn’t need to dig deeper for more evidence. At this point, all the neutral bystanders could naturally tell that Chu Xiang was being purposely sabotaged by someone. After all, there was not a single accusation against her supported with solid evidence.

Quite a few of those neutral people had already spoken up in defense of Chu Xiang. Seeing how much she had been bashed on over the past few days, they naturally started to pity her. Furthermore, with how entertaining Chu Xiang’s live broadcasts were, everyone’s opinion of her quickly soared, and they also became willing to support her. On the other hand, the wealthy culprit guilty of using their wealth to bully a normal person like Chu Xiang would be frowned upon and hated by society. Soon, another hot topic sprung out from the side, titled, “Only with money and great influence can one act so arrogantly and aggressively.”

By this time, everyone’s attention had been directed from supporting Chu Xiang to harboring great hatred for the ones who attempted to oppress and humiliate her.

More or less having experienced a similar situation before in their lives or having heard about it from a relative or friend, everyone commented their stance on Chu Xiang’s current situation and wanted to expose the culprit for their disgusting behavior. Each of those comments contained heartfelt words that resonated with everyone who read them. It seemed that there really were many people in this modern world who were experiencing or have experienced the feeling of being unfairly oppressed. Honestly, what went wrong with this society?

The forum erupted with heated discussions and contradictions between the common people and wealthy individuals. While Chu Xiang had successfully escaped from this “vortex,” the Lin Family and Mo Family were unfortunately still struggling to free themselves and were, on the other hand, spiraling deeper into the eye of the hurricane.

The experiences brought up by the users were usually ones that happened long ago in the past. Even the people responsible for treating them unfairly had long since dissociated themselves from them. However, upon comparing their past experiences to Chu Xiang’s situation, they naturally replaced  the wrongdoers in their respective stories to Lin Jiawei, Madam Lin, and Mo Xinru. Thus, their anger, which had been accumulating in their heart for all these years, suddenly broke free, directed towards them.

Lin Jiawei became the butt of public criticism. As the online users kept throwing insults at him and mentioning his despicable methods, his public reputation quickly plummeted.

As per usual, he did the only thing he could think of at this moment — to hire people and delete all these comments. However, his recklessness further infuriated the online users and reinforced the fact that rich, influential people could do whatever they wanted to in society. Their wanton censorship wouldn’t even allow the public to speak their minds. Upon realizing that someone was indeed deleting their comments, the online users exploded, especially as the trending sentence itself was wiped out. They quickly brought it back up to become the number one trending search on the internet.

Meanwhile, Madam Lin had already lost her mind. As her blood pressure soared to the heavens, she was no longer in the mood to eat anything as she laid weakly on her bed with an IV attached to her arm. However, it wasn’t as if this kind of discourse would have much of an impact on the Lin Family. After all, the Lin Family did not focus their business in the entertainment industry. From their perspective, as long as this outrageous situation didn’t have any effects on their business, they wouldn’t care about the insults of those petty netizens.

In spite of that reality, Madam Lin had never suffered such great humiliation before throughout her entire life. She had already been accustomed to her previous comfortable lifestyle of being respected by everyone. Her daughter-in-law had always listened to her… Her grandson would always be filial to her… Even her grandson’s wife acted obedient in her presence. Who wouldn’t envy the lifestyle of an old woman like her? Who else could live such a comfortable life like hers after reaching a similar age? For more than half of her lifetime, she had been enjoying a life of superiority.

Now, she was widely labeled as an “evil witch” overnight. Furthermore, she felt as if her grandson’s ex-wife had slapped her in the face and led a legion of supporters to throw a barrage of insults at her. She had never, in all her years of living, suffered such embarrassment, much less in public.

Madam Lin simply couldn’t bear these types of insults. She no longer had the face to even pick up a call, let alone meet up with any of her friends. Unable to vent her anger after suffering such a fatal mental attack, she ended up falling ill in bed from high-blood pressure.

On the other hand, Lin Jiawei had never paid much attention to Chu Xiang, thinking that she was merely a foolish girl whom he could toss to the side whenever he wanted to. He would occasionally remind her to not go around causing any trouble, and things would usually end there. In contrast to his expectations, his grandmother had fallen ill while Mo Xinru was wailing at home this time around. Of course, he could not just stand at the side and do nothing.
