The west sky was turning orange as Mira flew towards a city with nine tall towers, while Elio and the friend’s search remained fruitless.

The Silver Linked Towers were the highlight of the city of Silver Horn, and one of them was Mira’s home, the Tower of Summoning. As soon as she reached her room there, she began smiling.

「Welcome home, Lady Mira.」

「Mhm, I’m back.」

Hearing Mariana greet her made her truly aware that she had returned. Shortly after, Luna came running up to her and jumped into her arms, and Mira began embracing her while saying, 「Were you a good girl?」

Mira’s home could be described as a luxurious apartment with three bedrooms. She went right to the living room and sat down on a couch with Luna in her arms, and Mariana took care of all her needs for a bit, before heading to the kitchen.

Mira followed Mariana with her eyes, and watched how she handled a lot of food in the kitchen. Solomon had probably told her that Mira was back, so she went all out preparing dinner, sparing no expense.

「Dinner is looking really good!」

Mira said that full of excitement, and Luna also let out a happy squeak. Amongst the many items, she spotted various high quality vegetables, and she assumed that not everything was going to be cooked, with some serving as Luna’s personal dinner.

Most things were already cut to size, so it would not take much longer for the feast to be ready. It was clear that Mariana had focused on Mira’s preferences, with some vegetables sprinkled in to amp up its nutritional value.

Once everything was served, Mira began eating happily, while Mariana constantly peeked at her happy face. Next to her, Luna also ate her special salad, while constantly leaning and rubbing on Mira.

The dinner from the previous night at the orphanage had been lively, maybe too lively, but eating with just Mariana and Luna felt a lot more intimate, making her feel like they were all a happy family together.

Even if the dynamics between them and an actual family were completely different, the feelings it gave were the same.

After dinner, it was time to take a bath, where Mariana and Luna joined her like it was the most natural thing in the world to do.

「And that’s when I told him. I don’t think you’ve heard everything yet.」

As she reclined in the warm bath, she spoke about her adventures in Haxthausen, like her efforts to bring back summoners, the detective, the fans of Fuzzy Dice, their encounter in the Union, the chase into the underground pipeways, and the revelation that Fuzzy Dice was Lastrada.

Mariana was in front of her, attentively listening to everything she said, replying with a smile from time to time. Just listening to Mira talk was enough to make Mariana happy, her smiles filled with comfort.

Luna was also happy to be with Mira again, as she hopped out from her small bathtub in a corner of the bathroom and plunged into the larger one and swam up to Mira.

「Ohh, you can swim really well!」

Unlike her deft and swift movements when running, Luna seemed to be putting a lot of effort into keeping herself afloat, but that only made her look more adorable and Mira could not resist hugging her. Then Mariana commented that she had never seen Luna swim before.

It seemed like Luna really wanted to be next to Mira and that was why she had jumped into the water. That was a bit surprising for Mira, but it only made her hug Luna even more.

After that, Mira continued talking about everything she did, while taking some breaks to pet Luna. She became so engrossed in telling her stories and petting Luna that she did not notice that Mariana had slowly moved right next to her.

Once Mira got up from the bath, Mariana quickly tended to her needs, clothing her in a night robe.

Mariana also picked up all of Mira’s used clothes and put them in the laundry. By then, Mira was starting to think that they really seemed like a married couple, even if the way she was being treated was more akin to a mother and daughter.

Then they returned to the living room to share some drinks and continue talking until Mira got sleepy and headed to bed, obviously followed by Mariana and Luna too.

「And so I think I’ll be here in the tower all day tomorrow.」

「I’ll prepare lunch for you tomorrow too then. Is there anything specific you’d like?」

「Kyuiii~」

「Okay Luna, I’ll get you peach apples.」

「Oh, you two can already communicate like that…」

Once they were both inside of the bed, they began to discuss their plans for the next day until they were overtaken by sleep.

Mira and Luna were the first ones to sleep, and while listening to their long regular breath, Mariana chuckled a bit and closed her eyes.

The next morning, Mira did not worry about any plans and just decided to do whatever she felt like during the day.

「Ah, I found a lot of notes in the pockets of your clothes, I’ve left them on top of your desk.」

「Oh, alright.」

While Mira was enjoying another lavish breakfast prepared by Mariana together with Luna, Mariana told her about that.

There were no new leads on the remaining Wisemen, so even if she wanted to travel again, she had no destination yet. And she had already met her quota, so there was no urgency either. She was no longer busy like before, and could actually relax.

A few hours later, Mira also had lunch there, and while she watched Mariana clean up after lunch, she came to a realization. Now that she had less work, it was actually the perfect time to get engrossed with her actual occupation.

There was a huge pile of things she wanted to do, researching summoning, improving the public image of summoners, finding new ways to use summoning in other lines of work, practicing Sense Sync, coming up with new spells, and so on.

The homely environment she was in had made her forget about all that for a moment, but now that she recalled all of those things, she quickly stood up.

「Mariana, I’m going to the research room for a bit.」

「Alright, tell me if you need anything at all.」

Mariana quickly understood what Mira was trying to say, so she picked up Luna and watched as Mira went there.

Just like all other Wisemen, Mira could easily get lost in her own world when researching or practising spells, her ability to focus on that far surpassing that of regular people. Mariana knew that much, so she did not want to disturb her.

The first thing Mira did in the research room was to compile all the results of the tests she had conducted during her travels.

Especially when it came to new techniques like partial summoning and Exo-Summons. At the time, she had written down loose notes about it all, and it was time to properly organize them.

Time flew by in the blink of an eye as she did that, and by the time the sun was starting to set, her compilation of research notes was complete. Those pages she had written contained all the newest knowledge about summoning, showing what was possible at the top end of that spellcaster class.

On top of that, rewriting all her notes in a clean manner had helped her process them better in her own mind, so she was rather satisfied by the time she was done.

And with almost perfect timing, she heard Mariana’s voice echo into the room announcing that dinner was ready. Mariana had been hesitant to enter that entire time, not wanting to distract Mira and ruin her focus, but luckily that did not happen.

「Thank you, I’ll go in a bit.」

Saying that, Mira stood up and stretched for a bit, then left with her new research notebook in her hand.

「Sorry I’m a day late, but welcome back, Mira.」
