A Wish Fulfilled

Lady Ah Yu was as pure as an angel, having been blessed with both beauty and talent. People could not help but join her legion of fans. Most of them expressed their expectations of her result in National College Entrance Examination – with great empathy

“Lady Ah Yu had been forcefully pushed into a mess she never asked for. This might even distract her. I won’t be surprised if she actually fails. It’s too much stress for a teenager.”

“It was Su Li’s fault – her illustrations caused so much trouble!”

“Blaming it on Su Li again? It was that shameless bitch author’s doing! She would do anything to sell her new book, how disgusting!”

“It was Han Leng’s fault! If only he straight up confessed to her, he wouldn’t have troubled Ah Yu so much”

“Ah Yu must have worked very hard for National College Entrance Examination. She did not deserve any of this. I’m worried for her. Please, let her score well!”

“Why not recommended Ah Yu to Peking University right away? Given her talents and academic achievements, which university would be dumb enough to turn her down? Having such a pearl in school would attract more qualified applicants.”

“Don’t you all dare to belittle Ah Yu. In her broadcasts, she never once panicked. She’s as steady as a beautiful rock. Even the horror games did not scare her one bit Her mind rules over her heart in an exceptional way, what difference would National College Entrance Examinations be?”

“Games and exams are totally different. Her flawless track record might only end up as her greatest source of pressure now. And look at all this shit on the internet. I hope she remains calm!”

Apparently, one could be more concerned over their idols than how their idols concerned themselves over the same matters.

Zhao Youyue would have scrolled over the comments and laughed them away. After a good night’s sleep, they would be a distant memory. Even so, that could not be considered as being completely unaffected, as one had already been exposed to it and reacted to it.

However, Zhao Youyue had been full-time “Xu Jing” for a month, in preparation for the National College Entrance Examination. Xu Jing could remain stuck over the same page for an entire year if she wanted to. How could there be time for internet?

Xu Jing did not become an iconic character by studying alone. To her, no amount of revision was ever enough. She would even study the questions that lay beyond her exam scope!

With such commitment and dedication, Xu Jing never failed to answer any question in the exam. If the exam was a console game, Xu Jing would be the first in the high score list. She would not have a scratch on her body, even having explored every corner of the gaming world and wringing it dry of treasures and secrets

Zhao Youyue wanted to fulfill Xu Jing’s deepest wish. In the comic – Pure Romance, Xu Jing never once had a quiet time for her studies. That was all thanks to Su Li!

Xu Jing had also wished to participate in the National College Entrance Examination. In the novel world, she never had that chance. Pure Romance used a high school as the setting for its story. There could never be a university within its pages.

Perhaps there would be a day when The Mighty Mangaka Su loses her confidence in producing anything that people would love. She might go back to her roots and draw Pure Romance 2

It was common for authors to go back and milk their former glory whenever they faced dead ends.

The intervening of the author notwithstanding, Xu Jing had simply underwent a terrible fate. She did not crave for anything but to graduate from a university and start working a stable job and live happily ever after with her family

Xu Jing was resilient. She understood that the suffering was only momentary as the future would be far more promising.

But which novel ever stretched its timeline to that extent? Su Li had merely created her to be a companion for the male protagonist. Only death finally released her from Su Li’s grasp.

That’s right. Su Li might be a happy-go-lucky girl in real life, but she a cruel God when it came to her novel. She would do anything to her characters, as long as it pleased her readers.

Perhaps that was the catalyst for disagreement between Han Leng and Su Li. Han Leng might be dead cold in reality, but he nurtured every character in his novel with love. His readers could blow the world up and hurl thunderbolts at his ears, but he could continue working in peace.

It was the author’s respect towards his own characters that brought life into a novel. That was the secret behind an iconic novel.

Xu Jing never had the chance to fulfill her dreams in the novel world. Zhao Youyue helped her by getting it done in reality!

Zhao Youyue was not obsessed over the National College Entrance Examination. It was no different from a common exam to her. However, Xu Jing would have given in all her effort and strived for the best!

The National College Entrance Examination took place over the period of three days. Zhao Youyue, or more accurately, Xu Jing took each paper seriously; and answered every question to perfection!

As Zhao Youyue slowed regained control from Xu Jing, she felt a wave of sincere gratitude stemming from Xu Jing and she received it with open arms

Finally, the National College Entrance Examination came to a close. The school was awash with waves of relief and joy. A number of people wanted to toss their books in the air, but that act had been strictly forbidden by the school.

What good would tossing a book do? Have they never thought about the cleaning-up after that?

“How was the exam, San San?” Zhao Youyue smiled.

Bai Yunshan almost choked on her breath. It had been an entire month since Lady Zhao talked to anyone. She was colder than this iceberg goddess!

She noticed that Zhao Youyue had been completely immersed in her revisions. With her solid foundations, was revising even necessary for her?

The way she glued herself to her book was no different from last minute cramming!

Zhao Youyue’s dedication had greatly motivated Bai Yunshan. She had actually managed to emulate Xu Jing’s focus in revision. She did great!

“It was good; I might even do better than you,” Bai Yunshan replied with self-assurance.
