SORCERER: I WANT TO BE AN ACADEMIC PRODIGY

Chapter 579 - 577: The True King's Throne

Chapter 579: Chapter 577: The True King’s Throne

Before Ivan could devise a plan, he was captivated by the scenes that emerged around him.

He saw a thicket of enormously gigantic withered vines, each of them resembling a swimming dragon, extending from the void to all directions, traversing the sands of time as well as layers of space.

Unfortunately, the withered vines had lost their vitality, leaving behind only their awe-inspiring, sky-obscuring presence.

The green vine around his waist appeared to be a manifestation of the withered vine’s power, which seemed so insignificant in comparison to the entire thicket.

Ivan also noticed that the green vine was steadily pulling them towards the base of the withered vines, yet the end remained elusive, as if the length of the withered vines was infinite.

“How about that, the ancient Green Azure Flame Vine is mighty enough, isn’t it?”

“Indeed, it’s a sight to behold.”

Hearing the voice beside him, Ivan unconsciously expressed agreement.

Then he realized and, with caution, stared at the old tree-man: “You are not Meg, what have you done to her?”

“You’re right, I am indeed not Meg, but Meg is me.”

The old tree-man was indifferent, not concealing his identity.

“Meg is you? What does that mean?” Ivan furrowed his brow, pondering the implications of those words.

“My name is Clement, you could also call me Clement Elthrop. The withered vine you are seeing now is the past me, and your friend Meg is the present me; you should understand what I mean,” Meg explained.

“Did Meg grow from your discarded husk?” Ivan guessed.

“More accurately, she is a transformation of my original power. Anticipating my possible demise, I acted deliberately; it is a unique form of legacy transfer within our tree-man race.

Rest assured, for tree-men, this represents rebirth, a continuation, so you needn’t worry about what I’ve done to Meg.”

Meg herself only looked aged, but the voice was imbued with profundity, clearly that of an elder weathered by many years.

But their essence hadn’t undergone any change, which was enough proof of their continuous lineage.

Hearing his words, Ivan envisioned a mighty individual, during a crisis, sending out a seed with his own power. Over long periods, the seed sprouted and took root, eventually growing into a newly born tree-man guard.

Then, following a mysterious guidance, the tree-man ventured deeper into the Earth, seeking out the lost powers.

“Your tree-man race is truly a respectable one.”

“Ha-ha, human sorcerers are also beings worthy of admiration.”

Ivan was touched by the sincerity of the ancient Green Azure Flame Vine, and Clement was pleased that Meg had such a clever friend.

“May I ask curiously, Mr. Clement, are you a descendant of the Mother of Earth Core?” After a pause, Ivan couldn’t help but ask.

“No, but I did receive great favor from the Mother of Earth Core, and I followed her for a while. Later, I left Danaila to wander around, until I heard that Danaila World was in peril and rushed back to assist. I fell in the battle due to insufficient strength.”

Clement did not hide the truth in response to his question.

“There isn’t much time left, about the secrets of the throne here, I must tell you a few things.” Without waiting for a response, Clement continued.

“Do you know what a throne is?”

“I don’t, our sorcerer development is still young, and we know nothing beyond Level 5.” Ivan shook his head straightforwardly.

“Then let me tell you, Level 6 is commonly defined as ‘True King Level,’ where ‘true’ refers to the unity of everything.

Once all your elements are united as one, you can condense your own Elemental Throne, which can touch the power of the world’s rules. By then, you’d be a true king in every sense of the term.

When your body fully transforms into a Law Body, gaining complete control over a whole rule and refining it into a core of law, you become a Level 7 Supreme.

After the Supreme is the Level 8 Progenitor, and beyond the Progenitor is immortality beyond time. However, I have never heard of anyone transcending time.”

Clement clearly treated him as a junior, generously sharing knowledge of cultivation and opening a door to the previously unknown for him.

“Mr. Clement, what’s the deal with this throne here?”

“Good question, it’s actually related to the characteristics of the Danaila World. A long, long time ago, every so often, the Great Will would generously condense a throne and bestow it upon the creatures of the Danaila World.

Back then, the birth of a throne was the grandest event in Danaila, attracting creatures from all walks to come to the Underground World to vie for it, a process known as ‘Struggle for Kingship’.

Sadly, after the last great war, such grandeur no longer exists.”

Clement spoke of the past with a sense of lamentation.

Ivan listened carefully without interjecting.

“As for the throne here, it actually arose because of me. I sought to use the unique rule power of the Danaila World to reconstitute my residual strength into a throne for Meg to inherit.

I overestimated my control, however, and there were some accidents during the transformation process, which also affected the Undying Flame attached to the Green Azure Flame Vine.

This led to the birth of two thrones, one inside and one outside, forming a strange equilibrium between them.

Additionally, the underlying ‘Struggle for Kingship’ rule of Danaila was also pulled in, making the situation here quite complicated. If you and Meg wish to gain the power of the throne, you must adhere to the established rules and participate in the struggle against others.”

Undoubtedly, Clement had brought some rather unwelcome news.

Ivan was not worried about Lord-level enemies, but those akin to the Snake-man Ancient King posed a greater problem, especially considering Meg’s fear of fire.

Indeed, fortune and misfortune are intertwined, and fate mocks us all.

“Please teach me, Mr. Clement.” He hastily requested instruction.

“I have a special Formation here. Before I fade away, I will transfer all my remaining strength to Meg, helping him master this special Formation, and I will pass on the knowledge of the Formation to you.

You have three minutes to familiarize yourself, success or failure will be up to your own fate.”

Clement indeed came prepared, revealing his plan.

At this point, Ivan had no better strategy and had to make the most of any advantageous factor.

Subsequently, Clement imparted a Combined Attack Formation, or rather, a Combined Attack Secret Technique, transferring this knowledge named ‘Green Azure Flame Vine’ to him.

“Ivan, Meg, you two take care of yourselves.”

After having arranged everything, Clement, just as he had said earlier, quietly faded from this world. Meg reverted to his original form, but now held a new, profound strength within.

“Do your best and do not disappoint Mr. Clement’s high expectations.”

“Yes, the throne will undoubtedly be ours.”

Ivan and Meg exchanged glances, each seeing the other’s determination in their eyes.
