I caught the shirt, put it over my head with a grin. “Of course, this isn’t the end, sensei. I still love to be corrected by you.”
She rolled her eyes but as always, the faint flush on her cheeks told me she wasn’t as unaffected as she pretended to be.
With a final huff, she opened the door again, stepping out to hand Sachi her notebook. I caught a glimpse of Sachi’s curious expression, her eyes shifting toward the clubroom and catching my gaze.
It’s unclear if she sensed something was off, but Orimura-sensei’s presence was enough to keep her from pressing further.
“Thanks, sensei,” Sachi said, her voice polite but tinged with that same curiosity. “Is Onoda-kun still in there? I was hoping to talk to him about—”
“He’s just finishing up,” Orimura-sensei interrupted smoothly, her tone leaving no room for argument. “He’ll be out in a minute. Why don’t you head to the main gym? I’ll send him your way.”
Sachi hesitated, then nodded. “Okay. Thanks, sensei.”
As her footsteps faded down the hallway, Orimura-sensei slipped back into the clubroom, closing the door behind her with a soft thud.
She leaned against it, crossing her arms and fixing me with a look that was equal parts exasperation and amusement.
“You’re trouble, shameless brat,” She said, shaking her head. “And I’m starting to think I’m crazy for letting you get away with it.”
I stepped closer, my grin softening into something more genuine. ” Maybe you’re just starting to like trouble, sensei. And for what it’s worth… I’m crazy about you too.”
Her eyes softened for a fraction of a second, a rare glimpse of vulnerability breaking through her usual armor.
But then she straightened, pushing off the door and pointing a finger at me. “Out. Now. Before I change my mind and make you scrub the gym floor as punishment.”
I nodded and did a salute before pointing down, “Yes, ma’am. But don’t you think I’m going to be in trouble for this? She’s going to wait for me, right?”
Orimura-sensei followed my finger and saw how my pants were failing to contain my erection.
“This shameless brat… It’s not enough for you that we’re nearly caught, huh? ” She sighed and put a hand on her forehead, but underneath it, her eyes were already locked on it. A moment later, she closed in on me, her hand grabbing it before saying. “Hurry up then, shameless brat. Be quick about it or she might return to look for you this time.”
Taking that as my cue, I pushed her against the door without hesitation and for the next few minutes… we shared another intimate memory in this clubroom.
—
A while later, Orimura-sensei threw me out of the clubroom, not even letting me help her wipe her sweat and clean up. She did that for me though so I looked a little refreshed as I stepped into the hallway.
One would only notice the heat coming from me if they stepped closer and inhaled my scent. Mhm. My girls would surely notice when I return to them.
Anyway, as I made my way toward the main gym, I couldn’t shake the grin on my face.
Orimura-sensei was a force of nature. Every moment with her was a reminder of why I ended up falling so hard for her as well. She’s so teasable and her reactions were priceless.
But now, I had to face Sachi, and knowing her, she wasn’t just here for a casual chat. Especially after catching me there. Or maybe I was overthinking this? Whichever the case, I’d handle it the way I always did – one step at a time, with my girls at the forefront of my mind.
As I stepped into the main gymnasium, the space was still empty since it was still the 7th period.
I looked around and found Sachi near the bleachers, her volleyball club notebook tucked under her arm, her posture relaxed but her eyes sharp as they locked onto me the moment I appeared. Her athletic frame was still clad in her PE uniform, her hair tied back in a messy ponytail that gave her a casual, approachable vibe. But I knew better, Sachi was anything but casual when she had something on her mind.
I mean, she’s one of the few who managed to figure out my relationship with my girls. She’s an observant girl. She’s also quite scheming when she trapped me with a question before.
But well, that was already in the past. She’s my friend now, right?
“Onoda-kun,” She waved me over, her expression a mix of curiosity and something I couldn’t quite place. Maybe anticipation, maybe caution. Either way, it was clear she’d been waiting for me.
I jogged over, keeping my demeanor light despite the weight of everything that had just happened with Orimura-sensei.
“Hey, Sachi. Sorry for the wait. Sensei had me… tied up with some last-minute stuff.”
Her lips quirked up and I could tell she wasn’t entirely buying the vague excuse. “Tied up, huh? You’ve been busy today, haven’t you? First, the singing spectacle, then disappearing with Eguchi-sensei, and now Orimura-sensei? I thought you were only a Student Assistant for Eguchi-sensei? How come Orimura-sensei is now tied to you?”
I scratched the back of my neck, offering a sheepish grin. “What can I say? I’m a popular guy. So, what’s up? You said you wanted to talk?”
Sachi tilted her head, studying me for a moment before setting her notebook down on the bleacher beside her. She crossed her arms, her gaze steady but not accusing.
“Yeah, I did. It’s not about volleyball, though, so don’t worry about that. I just… blurted that out when I heard you’re still here. You know… I thought I could spend some time with you and then return to the school building together.”
With the way she said that, Sachi lowered her head slightly, as though hiding her current expression.
I walked over and sat down next to her. “Sure. Do you have any ideas in mind? At this point, I doubt we’ll still catch the end of that period. Besides, there’s no class. It’s fine to skip it once in a while.”
“Y-you… Don’t say that. They’re preparing for the Cultural Festival, right? It’s bad for our classmates if we don’t take responsibility. I remembered you’re part of the representatives of your class, right?” Sachi almost stuttered and then instead of getting excited from my agreement, she somehow ended up telling me we shouldn’t skip.
Really, what is her deal? Ah. I get it. She didn’t want to trouble me. She brought that up, thinking I’m going to reject her invitation.
I leaned back on the bleacher, letting my grin soften into something more reassuring as I studied Sachi’s flustered expression. Her hesitation was cute, almost endearing, but I could tell there was more beneath it.
She wasn’t just fishing for an excuse to hang out. She was testing the waters, maybe trying to gauge where she stood with me after everything she’d observed. Her sharp eyes had always been a problem, picking up on things most others missed and I had a feeling she’d caught more than just the surface of today’s chaos.
“Sachi, relax. You’re right, I’ve got responsibilities, and I won’t shirk them. But I can make time for a friend, especially one who’s been waiting for me like this. So, what’s really on your mind? You didn’t just stick around to lecture me about the Cultural Festival, did you?”
With that, it became her turn to be cornered.
