Strongest Warlock - Wizard World Irregular

Chapter 1099: The Counterattack Begins [Part 2]

Ethan stood tall and proud in the sky, arrogantly looking down at the battle that was happening below.

Luna and Samantha hugged him from his left and right sides, making it look like he was supporting his lovers, who were looking at the battlefield with calm expressions on their faces.

But in reality, Ethan was the one being supported by his two lovers.

The young man was like a spent candle after fighting against Ouroboros and gaining its allegiance.

As much as he wanted to save Lily right away, he was unable to do it.

If not for the strong willpower he acquired from his Slaughterer’s Legacy, he wouldn’t be able to sustain the arrogant and domineering presence he was projecting on the battlefield.

Fortunately, even if he had yet to take action, someone else was already making his way toward the capsule where Lily was confined.

High above the skies, invisible to everyone, James, Maple, Cinnamon, and Kazogonaga looked at the battle on the ground.

The real reason James asked his granddaughters to release Lily was because Psoglav had contacted him and reported that Ethan was coming to save his wife.

Since that was the case, he deemed that there was no longer any need for his granddaughters to keep the young man’s wife and asked them to release her.

Maple and Cinnamon weren’t paying close attention to the battlefield.

Their eyes were locked on Lily, ready to help their mother-in-law if anything were to happen to her amidst the mayhem unfolding on the ground.

Malrith, who was the temporary Leader of the other Progenitors who invaded Midgard, clashed against Zabab, holding him back.

Tiruru and Ilulu glanced at the cage behind them. They knew that as long as they had Lily, even if things went south, they would have a way out by using the latter as a hostage.

But the Progenitors attacking them were not forces they could underestimate.

"If you come closer, we will kill her," Tiruru said, pointing a needle that was at least a foot long at the unconscious young lady. "You don’t want that to happen, no?"

"Do what you want," Rullion replied arrogantly. "Kill her if you want to. I don’t care."

The four-faced Progenitor didn’t hesitate to attack Tiruru, while two other Progenitors teamed up against Ilulu.

The Cursed Blade, Valthar, who was still possessing the Naga King, joined Rullion in attacking Tiruru, forcing the latter back.

"Do you really not care if we kill her?!" Ilulu, who was being pressured by the two Progenitors, shouted in anger. "I’m not joking! I’ll really kill her!"

"Then kill her!" one of the two Progenitors roared in anger. He was very tempted to shout, ’Do you want me to help you kill her to make you understand that we don’t care if she dies or not?’ but he didn’t say such a thing.

He was afraid that Ethan would take it personally and give him a very painful and horrible death after the battle ended.

Rullion and the other Progenitors couldn’t be bothered to tell them that even if they tried to kill Lily, it wouldn’t work. As long as Ouroboros was around, the young lady would never die.

Even if she were killed, the Divine Beast of Eternity could just rewind her time, bringing her back to the state when she was unharmed.

The Progenitors had first-hand experience of this, so they decided that surrendering was their best option.

But Ethan’s deadly stare made all of them feel intimidated, as it gave them the illusion that the young man was about to kill them without mercy.

They were fortunate that Ethan decided to compromise after they proposed to eliminate the Plague Faction and offer the territories belonging to the Plague Faction to Ethan in exchange for their lives and freedom.

It was for this reason that they were fighting tooth and nail, on top of the fact that they made a binding oath with Ouroboros—one they couldn’t back out of no matter what.

Ethan’s army didn’t even make a move and simply remained in Atlantis, watching the battle with genuine interest.

Sensing that the Progenitors truly didn’t care about their hostage and were instead more interested in killing them, Tiruru and Ilulu felt troubled.

’I’ll use the capsule as a shield if I have to,’ Tiruru thought. ’Even if they say that they don’t care if she died, they will probably hesitate if I use her as a shield!’

But just as the Progenitor reached out to grab Lily’s capsule, the capsule moved from its location and backed away in haste.

"Huh?!" Tiruru, who didn’t manage to grab anything, looked in disbelief when the capsule moved away.

A moment later, the capsule was surrounded by black mist as Dainsleif flew toward the City of Atlantis, saving his Master’s wife as ordered.

While Tiruru and Ilulu were distracted by the Progenitors, the Ancient Wendigo snuck close to Lily with its invisibility skill.

After Ethan became more powerful, Dainsleif’s strength grew in parallel due to the contract that he shared with his Master.

"Damn it!" Tiruru opened her locust-like wings and flew toward the black mist carrying Lily away.

However, a blazing spear descended from the sky like a comet and flew in her direction.

The spear was none other than Areadbhair, who had come to assist Dainsleif in its escape.

Threatened by the spear, Tiruru had no choice but to clash with it, ensuring that she wouldn’t suffer any serious injuries from its strike.

The sound of metal hitting metal reverberated in the battlefield as Tiruru tried to overpower Areadbhair but failed.

The flaming spear held its ground, preventing the Progenitor from going forward.

She could only watch in frustration as Dainsleif arrived at the City of Atlantis, landing right beside Ethan, holding Lily’s Capsule in his hands.

Illumina didn’t hesitate and summoned a Water Blade to cut the side of the capsule, freeing Lily from her prison.

Chloe and Lilian immediately supported their sister, while Samantha checked her condition.

Worried about her lover, Luna stayed to support Ethan, preventing him from collapsing.

"She’s just unconscious," Samantha said after half a minute had passed. "Her babies are also unharmed."

After hearing her words, everyone was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief, including Ethan, who badly wished to hold his wife in his arms.

But he didn’t dare to do that because he only had enough strength to keep up his facade as a strong and powerful individual.
