"We are free!"
Vulpiana jumped on top of her mother and buried her face in her breasts. Faelara chuckled as she ruffled her daughter’s hair.
"We finally are free, huh?"
Faelara chuckled, still having a hard time believing it.
Vulpiana snuggled close to her mother.
She truly felt liberated today. She had turned into a child who wanted to be spoiled.
And Faelara, knowing exactly what her daughter wanted, smiled and continued to ruffle her hair. She also rubbed her ears from time to time, making the daughter fox snuggle even closer to her.
Vulpiana enjoyed all the pampering and closed her eyes. Like a diligent mother, Faelara didn’t stop either.
None of them said anything.
Both foxes seemed like they were lost in their own thoughts while they enjoyed each other’s presence. And fifteen minutes later, Vulpiana, whose mind had finally calmed down, raised her hand and stared at her mother.
"Mother, he finally did it."
"Hmm?"
Faelara tilted her head, and the daughter fox continued.
"He promised he would save us, and he did.
He saved not just us, but our entire race."
"Indeed."
Faelara nodded with a smile on her face.
Clearly, she was impressed.
"It is quite surprising.
To think he made him move."
Faelara nodded continuously as more and more theories appeared in her mind.
"To think he would make that man, who barely takes action, make a move when Yrniel was not even in danger…
It is quite surprising.
He didn’t seem like a man who would give in so quickly, but I guess it makes sense.
His daughter is now with him.
If a father-in-law won’t help a son-in-law, who else would?"
Faelara chuckled.
Vulpiana, however, shook her head.
"You don’t understand!
He didn’t get anyone’s help!
He did it on his own!"
"Huh?"
Faelara’s expression changed.
"What do you mean?"
She narrowed her eyes.
"I am saying that Nux did it on his own! He destroyed those worlds on his own!"
Vulpiana answered, her eyes still shining brightly. Clearly, she couldn’t believe it, but she was so excited that she couldn’t care less about anything else.
Faelara, however, wasn’t the same.
"Don’t be ridiculous."
The Dawnshade Head frowned in confusion. It was the first time she seemed… truly shaken.
"That child is just a Sovereign. Even if he is much stronger than those at his level, taking on Middle-Level Worlds is just absurd.
Even if he has Aeliana supporting him, taking out even one, let alone five Middle-Level Worlds, was absolutely impossible.
Vulpiana, however, didn’t give in.
"No! The Universe reacted!
Those worlds are protected by Transcendents.
No Sovereign or Primordial, no matter how strong, can even stand against a Transcendent, let alone kill him and destroy their world."
Faelara stated matter-of-factly.
Vulpiana, however, didn’t give in.
"No! The Universe reacted!
I am sure Nux was the one who did it!"
She was still adamant.
"The Universe reacted? What are you trying to say?"
Faelara blinked in confusion.
There were only two conclusions that lay in front of her: either her daughter had lost her mind, or…
She was extremely out of the loop here.
And for some reason, Faelara had a feeling that it was the latter.
"The Universe!
Did you not feel how Yrniel was trembling a few hours ago?"
"Yes, it was quite annoying."
Faelara snorted.
She had to use her Law to stabilize everything and prevent it from falling apart. Of course, this wasn’t the first time this had happened, so she was already used to it by now.
However, what made it even worse this time was the fact that it didn’t stop.
Usually, all the chaos stops after a few minutes, but this time,
Whenever it stopped and Faelara finally relaxed a little, the darn thing started again.
Then again…
And then again…
This continued for more than 300 times!
And it drove her crazy!
"That was the Universe! That happened because the Universe was enraged! It didn’t just happen in Yrniel, it happened all across the Universe! Even in Sylveris!"
Vulpiana declared confidently, and Faelara narrowed her eyes.
This wasn’t the first time she had heard of this.
The Crimson Covenant Faction had a meeting regarding this before. It was something about how the worlds had started trembling together all at the same time.
However, since they couldn’t find the reason behind this, the topic was never concluded and was buried under countless other, more important topics that the Faction actually had control over.
Faelara was the same.
She simply thought of it as her Sector acting strangely and decided to look into it more later.
But now…
With her daughter telling her that the incident wasn’t related to just their sector but the entirety of the Universe…
Many questions filled her head.
The most important one, however, was,
"How do you know this? And… what does this have to do with Nux? What makes you so sure that this incident is related to Nux?"
"I know it because I was there when it happened before!"
Faelara narrowed her eyes, and Vulpiana continued.
"I have spent months together with them.
This isn’t the first time this has happened. I still remember the day when I was talking to Eisheth and Nux appeared.
Eisheth was confused because she thought Nux was ’busy’ with something, but just when she asked him about it,
The Universe trembled, and everything around us shook.
That time, instead of frowning or being alert like he normally would every time something out of expectation happened around him and his wives, Nux just smiled, and I still remember what he said back then,
’Do you sense it now?’
And Eisheth nodded at that response.
After this, I started noticing a pattern. Every time the Universe reacted, Nux was nowhere to be seen.
A man like him, who is always around his wives, was never there moments before the Universe trembled.
This cannot be a coincidence, Mother.
That man is definitely the reason why the Universe trembles."
Vulpiana concluded, and at those words, Faelara froze, unable to comprehend what she just heard.
"I am telling you, Mother, Nux is definitely behind this. He didn’t get help fr—"
Suddenly, Vulpiana froze mid-sentence as well and glanced at her mother.
"Mother…"
She called out, her voice full of… suspicion.
"How do you know about Lord Azriel? I never told you about him."
