Chapter 2058: FOR THE QUEEN!!!
It was a momentary lapse in judgment.
One step, one wrong step towards her endangered subordinates and the very reality answered.
It began with a flicker.
There was no light, no sound, just… absence.
A sudden folding of existence, as if the world exhaled and forgot to inhale.
Then came the flash.
Just a pulse of blinding white—so bright that it blinded every being present in Khaemorr, even the one standing at the very opposite end.
Yes, the entirety of Khaemorr was lit up,
And then—
BOOOOOOOOOOOM
Collapse.
The space around the impact point folded in on itself, jagged threads of black lightning cracking inward, dragging stone and light into a singular, snapping point. An implosion, as if the very universe had bitten a chunk of Khaemorr out of the map.
A ring of shattered terrain peeled outward in a perfect circle, glass-like debris hanging in the air as if time had forgotten gravity. The air vibrated, then stopped. For a moment, the world simply… paused.
Where there had been a ground—there was nothing.
No scorch marks.
No smoke.
No blood.
Just a smooth, perfect hole in reality.
It was the Absolute Law of Doomed Path.
A Law that allowed Kethrian to set up a Death Region, a region that would kill any being who is not an Infinity the moment they stepped in it.
It was an absurdity, a ridiculous law. This was also the reason why most of Kethrian’s enemies refused to face him. He wasn’t strong himself, but he had the uncanny ability to lure his enemies into his Death Region and end them.
Just like how he did with Sharnoth, it didn’t take long for him to understand that the woman cared for all her subordinates, and the ones she cared the most about were the vanguard. Not just that, the woman was arrogant, she was strong and she knew it.
She was underestimating him.
And that was all Kethrian needed.
He allowed Khaemorr to change his location and teleported in front of her vanguard, tempting her to rush towards him and step right into the Death Region.
Yes, it was that simple.
There were no grand schemes or strong mind play, this is what happens when the enemy underestimates Kethrian. He knew how to take advantage of people’s habits and nature.
And with that,
The battle was over.
Sharnoth was evaporated out of existence, her men were now no longer a threat. Kethrian was planning to recruit the useful ones and massacre the rest, he was even planning to use some of them as slav—
Kethrian suddenly froze.
His connection with Khaemorr showed him where every being, especially an outsider, was.
This connection should no longer show him Sharnoth’s position, then why… why did it still show—
Very slowly, he turned towards the place where Sharnoth stood and there… he saw it.
The woman stood, her face distorted in fear, as if she had witnessed a horror that shook her very core. Yes, she was shaken, yes, her body was trembling, and it looked like she was no longer in the condition to fight.
But…
She was alive.
And she was unhurt.
’B-But how…!?’
Kethrian couldn’t understand.
Because of his and Sharnoth’s clash, every being had evacuated the area, there was no living being around them. This was the entire reason he had been facing her head-on anyway—to create space for his Death Region.
He made sure no one else but Sharnoth stepped into his Death Region, then how…
How was she alive!?
Kethrian’s world was falling apart.
But suddenly,
BOOOOOM
Sharnoth appeared in front of him again, her crimson eyes shining much more intensely than before.
Kethrian, who barely blocked her sword, was taken aback. Didn’t she look like she could no longer continue the battle?
Why does she look as good as new now?
No, not just new, she looks… stronger…?
Kethrian had too many questions in his head. Right now, however, he didn’t have the time to think about them.
He had to fight back.
He tried it many times, somehow dragging Sharnoth into the Death Region, but it simply didn’t work. Sharnoth was too fast and precise, almost as if she had turned into a different person.
The two continued to exchange blows and very quickly, it had become apparent,
Sharnoth had a heavy upper hand.
The only reason Kethrian was even able to hold on till now was because Khaemorr’s Will was doing everything in its power to keep him alive.
His Death Region wasn’t working at all. Every time he activated it, Sharnoth dragged someone in it to defuse it that instant. He was tired, he was running out of energy, and his body had thousands of bruises and injuries.
Sharnoth’s abilities were far beyond his capability. Even now, he had no clue what her Law actually was—heck, he wasn’t even able to comprehend the sort of energy she used. He just knew that whatever it was, it was creating a mess inside his body.
Yes, Sharnoth’s energy had infiltrated his body.
It was over.
And with a final slash, Sharnoth beheaded Kethrian, marking the end of the war.
With the death of the ruler and his head hovering in the air for all to see, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the soldiers gave in. Some tried fighting to the bitter end, but it didn’t matter.
The battle was over. In three hours, the defenders were either captured or killed. Sharnoth took over Khaemorr’s Will and made the world hers.
Yes, Khaemorr was now home to Sharnoth and her people.
“W-We did it!!!”
The soldiers shouted.
“Our Queen did it!!”
“FOR THE QUEEN!!!”
“FOR OUR HOME!!”
The soldiers roared in joy. Sharnoth, hovering in the air, stared at her people with a proud smile on her face.
She addressed her people, it was time for a victory speech, but Nux couldn’t care less about it.
He was more interested to see what was going to happen next.
After all, Zylarith momentarily took over Sharnoth’s body. He wanted to see what the man had to say about it.
