Chapter 1017 - 1017: The Azothralls’ Goal [Part 2]

The Jinns never expected that the same enemy they had been plotting to eliminate would appear in front of them and ask to talk.

Thirteen had sent a few of his demons to watch over the Azothralls, while Rocky positioned itself right beneath the residence of House Pavareth.

If anything unexpected happened, it would immediately pull Zion, Hans, and Princess Aracelle into its mobile fortress and flee.

The young man had a bad feeling about the appearance of the Azothralls, knowing they didn’t only go to meet the Jinns. Some had also gone to Casimir City to negotiate with the Wanderers.

Thirteen had already instructed Shana to hide inside the military base.

Since she was wearing the engagement ring he had given her, his Monster Army currently inside the Domain of the Apocalypse could help her if ever she needed them.

Given the situation, the teenage boy felt a little thankful that Princess Aracelle had asked him to stay over for the night.

Had he not been at the right place at the right time, his lover might have encountered a problem she wouldn’t be able to handle.

“What’s the reason for your visit?” Prince Valen asked the Azothralls, who were standing outside the city.

One of the Azothralls spoke with the language of the Jinns, telling them they had come to offer an alliance against the Wanderers.

“However, we require that you give us a sacrifice in exchange,” one of the Azothralls stated. “As long as you agree to these terms, we and the Jinns won’t have to fight each other.”

“Sacrifices?” Prince Valen asked. “What sacrifices are you talking about?”

“Sacrifice a woman with Divine or Holy powers to us,” the Azothrall replied. “We will personally choose that person. After that, we will leave peacefully and not bother you again.”

Prince Valen’s expression became solemn. Zion had already mentioned that the Azothralls needed women who possessed divine and holy powers to increase their numbers.

“If we give you what you want, then you will leave us alone?” Prince Orryn asked.

Frankly, as long as the Azothralls promised not to interfere in the war, he didn’t mind agreeing to their request.

“Yes,” the Azothrall replied. “We will only choose one, so it has to be the best.”

The Jinns started to waver. Sacrificing one woman for the sake of everyone’s safety was something they could accept.

However, Prince Valen understood what the Jinns wanted to do and snorted in derision.

“Don’t make me laugh!” Prince Valen sneered. “You want a woman so you can increase your numbers through breeding. Sure, you might not attack us now. But in the future, how can we be sure that you won’t do it?

“And we cannot trust your words. We don’t know your real goals, nor whether you will stab us in the back.”

Hearing that the woman the Azothralls were asking for was meant to increase their numbers, the Jinns realized that their enemy must have understood that they had the disadvantage in numbers and wished to fix that problem.

Thirteen frowned, his gut feeling telling him that the Azothralls would offer the Wanderers the same proposal.

In fact, Renz had sent him a report a few seconds ago, telling him about the demands of the Azothralls.

Just as he expected, the Azothralls also asked for someone with divine and holy powers. But unlike the Jinns, they gave a name, which made Thirteen clench his fist.

“We want the Saintess, Shana Summers.”

That was what the Azothralls demanded in exchange for an alliance.

The teenage boy didn’t expect that the alien-like monsters would be so cunning as to negotiate with the Jinns and Wanderers at the same time.

Clearly, they were taking advantage of the situation, not knowing that Zion, Tristan, and Douglas had already gone first and met with the Jinns to form an alliance with them.

While Renz had no idea that Zion and Shana were in a relationship, he still didn’t hesitate to turn down the Azothrall’s proposal. After all, Shana was the daughter of Tristan and the granddaughter of the Grand Marshal of the Central Government.

After receiving their reply, the Azothralls left Casimir City.

But Thirteen had a nagging feeling that everything wasn’t over yet.

Despite the fact that Prince Valen had revealed the purpose of the Jinns asking for women who had holy and divine powers, the Jinns were still considering agreeing to the other party’s condition.

Their reasoning was simple.

Even if the Azothralls were to use the woman to breed, it would take them months or even years to give birth.

Also, raising the strength of a newly born Azothrall couldn’t be easy, so they believe they wouldn’t be a problem in the short term.

Of course, there were still some who had rejected this idea, like the House Pavareth, the Azrakith Court, the Skavari, and the Velmoria Kingdom.

They reminded the other leaders of the Jinns that they were now allied with the Wanderers and had even made the blood oath, which was sacred to the Jinns.

In the end, they agreed to reject the proposal of the Azothralls, prompting the four monsters to leave.

After the discussion ended, Prince Valen hurried back to his residence to report everything that happened.

Since Thirteen didn’t want the Crown Prince to know that he had already sent his subordinates to listen to the discussion, he waited until the Prince was finished with his explanation.

“I received reports that the Jinns have also appeared in Casimir City, offering the same conditions,” Thirteen stated. “They are very cunning and tried to play both sides at the same time.”

“Did your side agree to the alliance?” Prince Valen asked.

He looked very concerned. If the Wanderers accepted Azothrall’s proposal, it would complicate the alliance that they had all agreed to honor.

“Our side also refused their offer,” Thirteen said. “But my intuition is telling me that the Azothralls will not give up so easily.”

The young man then felt someone giving his hand a light squeeze, making him turn to the side to look at Princess Aracelle.

“The Azothralls can’t be trusted,” Princess Aracelle stated. “Since they tried to play both sides, I believe they didn’t come in good faith.”

Thirteen nodded. “That’s right.”

But before Thirteen could say something, Rocky suddenly issued a warning, prompting him to speedily grab Princess Aracelle, pulling her away from where they originally sat.

A moment later, an Azothrall burst out of the floor.

The four-meter-tall creature scanned its surroundings and locked its gaze at Zion and Princess Aracelle.

“Endy…mion!” the Azothrall screeched. “Kill!”

Just as the Azothrall was about to lunge at Zion, Rocky’s head erupted from the ground and tackled the monster head-on.

Three more Azothralls clung to Rocky’s body, which was probably the reason why it had sent a warning to its master earlier.

The Azothralls snuck up so silently, slipping past the Hellfire Bal-Boa’s senses unnoticed. By the time it realized what was happening, it was already too late.

But Rocky didn’t falter. It opened its mouth to devour Thirteen and Princess Aracelle before digging on the ground.

Prince Valen shouted in anger and used an artifact to blast the four Azothralls away, giving some time for Rocky to escape.

Hans had also revealed his true strength as a Throne and clashed with one of the Azothralls, kicking it away.

The Azothrall skidded for a few meters before burrowing into the ground, intending to pursue the Hellfire Balboa that had escaped.

They had sensed the presence of their hated enemy, Zion, due to the power of the Artemian and Chadnrean bloodline flowing in his veins.

Also, the strong divine power that they felt on Princess Aracelle had prompted them to target her as well.

Now that the two people they sought were trying to escape, the Azothralls didn’t hesitate to pursue them as fast as they could.

“Damn it!” Prince Valen cursed loudly as he stared at the giant hole inside his residence.

House Pavareth was a race that specialized in flight. They didn’t have any monsters who could follow the Azothralls underground, so he ran toward the Skavari Race to ask for backup.

The incident just now didn’t escape the senses of the other Jinns, who had also hurried to see what was happening.

“Prince Zorren, the Azothralls tried to kidnap my sister and Zion!” Prince Valen shouted. “Please, send someone to pursue them!”

After realizing what had happened, Prince Zorren immediately ordered his subordinates to follow him towards the tunnel.

He didn’t even care if someone followed him or not.

Prince Zorren jumped into the hole and transformed into his Ratkin form, forcing General Varrak to order his subordinates to follow their prince.
