Chapter 1025 - 1025: I Don’t Want A Future That Is Already Set In Stone

At the highest building of Casimir City, two young ladies sat on its edge, looking at the sun slowly setting in the west.

“My mother told me this land will face a series of calamities,” Siri said. “She said she saw it in her visions.”

“Did she tell you to leave?” Stella inquired.

“No.” Siri shook her head. “But she told me to be extremely careful.”

“What did she see?” Stella asked out of curiosity. “If it’s not something you can tell me, then you can forget my question.”

Siri pondered for a while before telling her friend what her mother had told her.

“A battle between a golden beast and a being that isn’t supposed to appear in this world will take place,” Siri said. “Countless golden chains bound that golden beast and erased its existence completely.

“The second calamity will not happen in this land, but in another land. A spider with a human face will capture the seeds of the future, intending to eat their flesh and blood. This will turn it into a creature that no Wanderer can defeat.”

“Last but not least, a creature more savage than the Jinns will descend upon this world. It will be the strongest monster that has ever appeared on this continent. The scary part is, unlike the Jinns, it isn’t bound to one place and can travel anywhere it wishes.”

Stella nodded calmly. “That does sound very ominous. Have you told Zion about it?”

“Not yet,” Siri admitted. “He has a lot of things to do, and I don’t want to add additional problems for him to worry about.”

“Still, I think you need to tell him about this matter.” Stella insisted. “He basically controls the Alliance right now. Having this information will allow him to plan for the future.”

Siri sighed. “I know you’re right. I’ll meet him later tonight.”

“No.” Stella shook her head. “Meet him now. I’ll go with you. The sooner we inform him, the sooner you’ll feel better.”

Stella was able to convince her friend, and the two went to find Zion in his office in the military.

Siri shared everything her mom told her to the teenage boy, and the latter only listened from start to finish.

“Thank you for telling me this,” Thirteen replied. “I greatly appreciate it.”

“Do you have any clue about those visions?” Stella inquired.

“No.” Thirteen shook his head. “I have no idea what these three calamities are. What I do know is we need to focus on fighting against the Azothralls for now. Any other threat can wait until we defeat those guys.”

“But doesn’t the first part of the vision closely resemble the Azothrall?” Siri commented.

She then repeated the first passage of the vision.

“A battle between a golden beast and a being that isn’t supposed to appear in this world will take place,” Siri said. “Countless golden chains bound that golden beast and erased its existence completely. If we are being objective, that golden beast can refer to the golden Azothrall, no?”

“Well, the possibility exists.” Thirteen agreed. “But it’s hard to say if it really has a connection with the Azothralls.”

“Zion, just remember this,” Siri said in a serious tone. “All of my mother’s visions always come to pass. It doesn’t matter what preparations anyone makes, those events will happen without fail.”

Thirteen rested his chin on the back of his intertwined hands. If this matter was already a done deal, then he could only do what he had always done.

Defy fate.

Even if these calamities would truly come to pass, Thirteen wouldn’t take it lying down.

He would use everything in his arsenal to deal with the problem.

‘A being that isn’t supposed to appear in this world,’ Thirteen mused. ‘Just what kind of creature is it?’

In the end, he had no choice but to push this matter aside for the time being.

The only thing he could do was handle the things that he could.

As for the things that would happen in the future?

He would cross that bridge when he got there.

Thirteen didn’t want to dwell on things that were outside of his control.

Stella looked at the teenage boy and paid attention to the color he possessed.

‘Now is not the time,’ Stella thought. ‘This world still needs him.’

Since they had nothing more to discuss, Stella and Siri bid Zion goodbye. The two then left the military base and took a stroll in Casimir City.

“You’re right, Stella,” Siri said as she walked with her hands behind her back. “I do feel lighter now. I no longer feel burdened.”

“See?” Stella smiled. “You did the right thing, and your words might have been the key to saving many lives in the future.”

“The future…” Siri shook her head helplessly. “You know, I hate Seers, Oracles, and those who can see the future. It makes me feel like no matter what I do, the path that I’m taking is already predetermined since my birth.

“The mere thought that my choices don’t really matter in the bigger picture makes me feel anxious and helpless. A future already set in stone and cannot be changed is a scary future. Don’t you agree?”

Stella nodded. “I will also hate that kind of future. But I believe that nothing is final. There will always be those who can change a future that cannot be changed.”

“Is that even possible?” Siri arched an eyebrow. “If it’s already set in stone, then it’s impossible to change, right?”

Stella would have agreed with Siri if it weren’t for the fact that her father was one of those people who had managed to overcome great adversity and defied fate.

“Siri, you might not know this, but somewhere out there, a few individuals are fighting a battle for the sake of those who cannot change their fates,” Stella stated.

“They are the unsung, nameless heroes of their respective worlds. So, maybe that future your mother saw is not final. Maybe it can still be changed.”

Siri looked at her friend with curiosity. “You talk about unsung, nameless heroes. If you were to choose someone from this world, who would you choose as the person who fights for the sake of others?

“Someone who would fight against Fate for the sake of those who are unable to fight for themselves?”

“It’s Zion,” Stella replied without any hesitation. “He is the only one whose colors I see in this world. If it’s not him, I don’t know anyone else who fits the bill.”

Siri smirked. “I hope you’re right. I really don’t want a future that’s already set in stone.”

Stella nodded and continued to stroll the city with Siri, who was worried about her own future.
