Somewhere in Solterra…
Hordes upon hordes of monsters were waiting on the other side of a purple gate.
Atop a colossal snow spider stood a throne, where the Majin Prince, the ruler of the continent’s frozen north, sat in command.
He had been waiting for this opportunity for the past few decades and had built an army that would invade the world of Pangea.
Just like Kamrusepa, he was one of the original Jinns who had descended to invade the world of Solterra but was spared by the Celestials and the Fiends.
For many years, he had warred with his neighbors and established his own domain in the North.
Now, he was looking for better and greener pastures.
‘A day from now, this gate will finally open.’ The Majin Prince, who goes by the name Kaele,n smiled faintly.
He had assembled a monstrous army led by a Rank 9 Sovereign, six Rank 8 Sovereigns, and twenty Rank 7 Sovereigns.
This was a force that wouldn’t lose to the armies of the Factions that belonged to Gomorra.
In fact, his army might even be stronger than theirs.
At least, that was what he believed.
He had spent countless time and resources to strengthen his force, waiting for this day to arrive, and was feeling very confident about his chances of becoming the new Master of the Cygni Continent.
He was simply waiting for the gate to open to send his minions to the other side and start their rampage.
Suddenly, Kaelen sensed something coming from the sky, which made him frown.
The sky was covered with dark clouds, so he wasn’t able to see anything past them.
However, a few seconds later, a few unidentified objects that looked similar to meteorites broke through from the clouds and were falling in their direction.
“Destroy them!” Kaelen ordered, and the flying monsters under his command obeyed his call.
Frost Wyverns and Frost Dragons rose to the sky and unleashed their breath attacks to destroy the meteorites that were headed toward their monster army.
Their attacks landed, but some of the meteorites broke apart.
However, something jumped from inside the destroyed meteorites and latched onto the flying monsters of Kaelen’s army.
“What are those things?” Kaelen frowned when he saw the alien-like creatures that emerged from the meteorites.
A moment later, he stood up from his throne, clearly sensing that the monsters attacking his Frost Dragons were Rank 8 Sovereigns.
“You dare?!” Kaelen roared in anger at the alien-like monsters who had decided to ruin the day he had been waiting for, for the past few decades.
However, before he could jump on the back of one of his Frost Dragons, a meteorite bigger than the rest of the meteorites broke through from the clouds, emitting a presence that made Kaelen’s body shudder.
“An Archon!” Kaelen gasped in shock.
Archons were the equivalent of a Majin Prince. This was the term used for any beings that weren’t classified as Jinns.
Before Kaelen could even react, the meteor broke apart, and a man with four pairs of angelic wings descended upon the sky like lightning.
The Majin Prince only had enough time to summon his spear before clashing with the bastard that had come to his domain uninvited.
A powerful shockwave expanded outward as the two powerhouses clashed against each other.
“Who are you?!” Kaelan asked angrily.
“Lucan,” Lucan replied. “Remember the name of the one who will send you to the afterlife.”
Kaelen snorted before he pushed back his enemy to unleash a barrage of spear thrusts.
Lucan flapped his wings and rose high up in the air, dodging Kaelen’s attacks.
The Artemian Archon raised his sword over his head, making it glow in a golden light.
“Die!” Lucan roared as he slashed downwards.
“You’re the one who is going to die!” Kaelen roared back and once again unleashed a spear thrust that was imbued with purple light.
The two attacks collided, killing everything within their hundred-meter radius.
Kaelen suffered minor injuries, but Lucan remained unscathed.
“What are you all doing?!” Kaelen shouted in anger. “Help m—”
His words froze midway when he noticed that his forces were currently engaged in a battle with the alien-like Monsters.
Dozens of Azothralls, who were all Rank 8 Sovereigns, mercilessly tore through the battlefield, killing everything within their range.
All of them were being led by a Golden Azothrall that was four meters tall.
A glance was enough to tell him that the golden monster currently battling with his Rank 9 Sovereign for dominance was a Rank 9 Pseudo-Archon.
But Kaelen was not worried. In his eyes, his Primal Sabertooth Tiger would win this one-on-one battle, confident with its speed, strength, and power.
However, it didn’t take long for him to realize that the golden alien was faster, stronger, and more powerful than his own subordinate!
“Damn it!” Kaelen cursed. “Are you an Artemian?! What are you doing here?!”
“What else?” Lucan answered. “That gate is ours.”
“Damn you!” Kaelen lunged at his enemy with bloodshot eyes because he couldn’t believe that someone dared to steal what rightfully belonged to him.
The two clashed several times, and both of them wanted nothing more than to kill the other.
Although Lucan was more proficient in his techniques, Kaelen was using brute force to overwhelm him.
However, the Artemian Commander wasn’t worried.
Why?
It was because he only needed to stall for time.
The Azothralls were the perfect killing machines, and he brought twenty-one of them on this mission.
Twenty Rank 8 Sovereigns, and one Pseudo-Archon.
This lineup was more than enough to annihilate Kaelen’s entire army.
But it didn’t end there.
The Azothralls were known to evolve as they gained more battle experience.
Rocky had a hard time fighting against a single Azothrall in the past because of how powerful it was.
It could adapt to any situation and modify its body when needed.
It was the pinnacle of the Artemian Monster research, and to be perfectly honest, very few would be able to survive a battle against them.
‘Damn it!’ Kaelen cursed internally. With every minute that passed, dozens of his High-Ranking subordinates were dying.
Every time he tried to save them, Lucan would block his path and prevent him from helping his subordinates.
‘Years of planning only to end like this!’ Kaelen felt aggrieved and unwilling, but there was nothing he could do.
He watched as his Rank 9 Primal Sabertooth Tiger died under the merciless attack of the golden alien, who was now eating its flesh as if it were the finest meal it had eaten in its life.
Kaelen’s face turned pale. He now understood that his army was helpless against the invaders, and the only thing he could do was to order a full retreat if he wished to save what little forces were remaining.
“Full Retreat!” Kaelen shouted.
He no longer wished for his subordinates to die, so he ordered everyone to back away for safety.
Kaelen wasn’t a fool. He knew that the golden alien also posed a threat to him. Fighting Lucan was already hard, but fighting against two powerful opponents could spell his doom.
Even though he was unwilling, he truly had no choice but to escape as fast as he could, leaving behind his army to fend for themselves.
“Hmph, I guess he isn’t stupid,” Lucan snorted before shifting his attention to the Azothralls, who were now feasting on the corpses of the powerful monsters they had slain.
The Artemian King had tasked him to ensure that their forces would be able to cross over to Pangea to wreak havoc upon Thirteen’s home world.
He only gave the Azothralls one order, and that was to completely annihilate the Wanderers and destroy the Jinns that stood in their way.
Once they had gotten a proper foothold in Pangea, it would be far easier to invade them because the barrier that protected the World of Wanderers had grown thin.
‘Endymion, your day of reckoning is near.’ Lucan sneered. ‘You will regret the day that you interfered with the aspirations of our King!’
One by one, the Azothralls screeched towards the sky, as if declaring their victory to the world.
They were created to serve as the Artemians Army’s Vanguard and their mission was to conquer the world of Pangea and add another world under their King’s control.
