Taking the Mafia to the Magic World

Chapter 1109: Larissa’s whereabouts

Chapter 1109: Larissa’s whereabouts

Appearing in the middle of the central square of the Glorious Buddha Sect, Vicente attracted the attention of all the guards and disciples passing by. As a stranger appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the sect, the seven defensive layers of the headquarters fell like shards of broken glass, with warning sounds ringing out from the various observation towers scattered around the area.

Shouts arose among the weakest and the strongest commanded the retreat of some and the formation of troops to combat the sudden threat that had appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the day.

Vicente folded one of his arms across his chest and stared at the fingernails of his other hand disinterestedly, as if invading a headquarters was nothing to him. Meanwhile, 16 pentagrams, most of them violet, solidified around him, making the surrounding space itself tremble in their presence.

The mana on this mountain came under Vicente’s control, causing overwhelming pressure on the headquarters, forcing several defensive formations to activate to protect different buildings and people.

Vicente remained where he was, apparently tending to his fingernails, when a high-level Sorcerer, in a cold sweat and wide-eyed, appeared closer to him than anyone else.

“Who are you? What are you looking for in my sect?” The individual asked, terrified by the presence of the invader. He couldn’t help but look at Vicente’s pentagrams and feel chills run through his entire existence.

How could an entity with such power exist in this world? The invader was clearly a 5-Star Sorcerer, but his aura was much more like that of a Transcendent than anything else!

Vicente could tell that none of his companions were there, but that was no guarantee that one of them hadn’t passed through the hands of this force.

Then, without looking into the eyes of the only one with the courage in the area to address him, he said slowly, but clearly angry enough to kill anyone he disliked at the moment, “Some local sect had the boldness to buy some friends of mine at a local market some time ago.”

As he spoke, Vicente let his powers work, using the metals in the ground to build metal versions of Larissa, Lyra and Rex. At his current level, he could even mimic the auras of the three to make these metal versions look even more like them.

“Your sect disputed the purchase of one of them. I know that. What I want to know now is where they are.” He finished his words in a dominant tone, finally turning his black eyes towards the local leader, a fat man with a pig’s face.

As much as he had his eye on the local leader, Vicente’s voice reached every single soul on this peak, making them understand who he was looking for.

The sect leader looked at his fellow council members, who were already positioned in the area to deal with Vicente if they had no choice.

They all shook their heads in denial, not knowing what this was all about. No one recognized the three figures presented by the invader.

“We don’t know who they would be or where they would be…” Said the sect leader, wondering if this was a misunderstanding.

Vicente narrowed his eyes and changed his question. “So tell me, who bought them?”

After a few moments of silence, the local leader’s eyes lit up, and he pointed toward a high-ranking official.

Vicente looked in the direction of the Grand Magus, causing him to float closer to him. “Who acquired them?” he repeated his question.

Feeling Vicente’s pressure, the man contracted every muscle in his body to protect himself, getting straight to the point in his words. “The Alpine Eye Family won the auction for that human woman. I don’t know where the lion and the elf were taken.”

Vicente accepted this answer, confirming what he had heard from the market manager he had passed earlier.

Then his aura diminished, with the metallic figures of his companions disappearing along with most of their influence over the area.

“I see… In that case, answer me one more question. How do I find this Alpine Eye Family?”

The Sorcerers behind the previous market had already given him this information, but Vicente didn’t underestimate the scheming ability of strangers. He looked at these locations for confirmation of the information he had already received.

The same Grand Magus opened his mouth and quickly told Vicente how to get to the Alpine Eye Family headquarters from the Glorious Buddha Sect.

Vicente let go of him, bringing one of his hands to his face, seeing that the information he had gotten earlier was reliable. ’In that case, I’ll be able to reach Larissa’s buyers after passing through the Dragon Kong area. I’ll check on Rex and Lyra soon after.’

Rex and Lyra were further away, so Vicente would rescue them last.

He looked in the direction of where the home of the dragon from Polaris Realm should be, aware that it wouldn’t take more than a few minutes to get there. He also didn’t intend to prolong his conversation with the dragon, this opportunity being a first meeting that could be followed by others before he left the Inviting Isles.

Minutes could greatly change one’s fate, but Vicente didn’t rush to catch up with his companions. Each of them was already at too high a level for there to be a chance of them being discarded so easily.

If they were still alive, it meant that they had their worth and it wouldn’t be this short passage through Dragon Kong’s territory that would change anything.

Acting more rationally than ever because of his new infernal powers, Vicente pointed toward the sect leader and then gestured for him to come closer.

The man swallowed his saliva in terror, but when he got close to Vicente, he didn’t have to face anything more aggravating.

“Take this as payment for the defenses I destroy.” Vicente handed the man a Ninth Class weapon, something that made the fat man’s eyes open so wide they almost fell out of their sockets.

“But I want one last favor from your sect. One of you, accompany me to the territory of Kong. I’ve heard that you have a good relationship, is that true? I’d like to use this to get closer to him.”

“That’s…” The leader of the Glorious Buddha Sect felt uncomfortable, but at the same time, he could never refuse such a valuable gift and a mission from the one behind it.

The speed with which the situation resolved itself and changed direction completely was enough to upset many people, but this was an experienced magician, used to changing situations. He promptly ordered his men to stand down and agreed to take Vicente personally to the dragon.

“Senior, I’ll do it, but I must warn you…”

“About Kong’s personality? I’m already aware. I’ll take care of myself. Just take me to him and tell him we’re friends. You can come right back.”
