Terra Nova Online: Rise of The Strongest Player
Chapter 764: Information Pack (2)Chapter 764: Information Pack (2)
“Next, we talk about the different types of enhancements you can possibly undergo at the military–” The fairy declared as the background behind her shifted again, fading from the serene imagery of Ecological and Technological planets into a sleek metallic chamber.
Rows of glowing glass cylinders lined the walls, each containing a swirling, luminous liquid of different colors. Holographic DNA strands floated in the air, rotating slowly as lines of alien script ran alongside them.
“Enhancements, cadet, are the cornerstone of every elite soldier’s power in the universe!” the pixie declared, flitting in front of a glowing blue vial suspended mid-air.
She placed her tiny hands on her hips and looked Leo square in the eye. “Now listen carefully because this isn’t just trivia—it’s so you don’t go gawking at someone with snake eyes or horns and embarrass yourself in front of a decorated officer.”
Leo smirked slightly at the pixie’s warning but straightened up, ready to listen.
“Alright! The military offers three primary types of enhancements to its soldiers. Each has its benefits, risks, and, most importantly, rules. So let’s break them down one by one!”
“Firstly the Genetic Correction Serum”
A golden vial floated forward, spinning slowly, light refracting off its shimmering contents.
“This is the Genetic Correction Serum, and let me tell you, cadet, this little vial is practically liquid gold!” The pixie twirled in the air, and a holographic display projected strands of DNA being meticulously repaired and rewritten.“After a soldier serves for at least five years, they become eligible for this serum. It’s designed to fix genetic flaws and imperfections—anything from predispositions to hereditary diseases to structural deficiencies caused by malnutrition or environmental damage.”
The display shifted, showing a silhouette of a human figure gradually growing taller and more muscular.
“If your genetics held you back from achieving your true potential—like, say, you were supposed to be a 6’4″ hunk but ended up 5’9″ short king—this serum corrects that. It also enhances muscle density, resulting in a 10–20% increase in strength and mass after the therapy.”
Leo leaned forward slightly, his curiosity piqued.
“And before you ask—yes, it’s completely safe. This serum is one of the biggest reasons people dream of joining the military. Who doesn’t want to reach their peak physical form effortlessly?”
The golden vial faded, replaced by a swirling silver one.
“Second Hybridization Serum”
The pixie crossed her arms and gave Leo a stern look. “Now, cadet, this next serum is where things get wild.”
The silver vial began glowing faintly as the display projected figures with glowing snake eyes, clawed fingers, and elongated limbs.
“The Hybridization Serum allows soldiers to integrate traits from other species into their own bodies. Think of it as… borrowing nature’s best features.”
The display zoomed in on specific examples—an officer with orcish strength, another with cat-like eyes that glowed in the dark, and one with snake-like fangs dripping venom.
“Strength, vision, agility, venomous bites—you name it. But—and this is a big but—there’s a heavy price for this power.”
The pixie’s wings drooped slightly as her voice turned serious.
“Soldiers who undergo Hybridization usually become sterile. Their reproductive cells are harvested and frozen before the procedure, just in case they want kids someday. It’s a steep price to pay, but the enhancements are often worth it in the eyes of those who choose this path.”
Leo frowned slightly at the implication but said nothing.
The silver vial faded, and a crimson one took its place.
“Finally a Racial Change Serum”
The pixie hovered slightly higher, her expression a mix of awe and caution as she gestured to the crimson vial.
“Compared to species like elves, demons and vampires, species like humans, dwarves and goblins just don’t have the same sort of physical dominance, or ceiling for growth, and hence the military offers this third and final choice for individuals from weak species like human”
The display projected humanoid figures slowly transforming—humans turning into elves, orcs, dwarves, and even demons. Their features changed gradually, skin tones shifted, horns and pointed ears appeared, and their physiques adapted to match their chosen race.
“This serum doesn’t just tweak your genes—it rebuilds your DNA from the ground up. Want the durability of an orc, the agility of an elf, or the raw magical power of a demon? This serum makes it possible.”
The pixie’s tone darkened slightly.
“But it comes with significant risks. First, there’s a 50% chance of becoming sterile, and second… your lifespan often gets cut in half compared to your original species.”
The display faded, leaving only the crimson vial glowing ominously.
“Those who take this serum become something beyond human, but they pay for that power in ways most people can’t imagine.”
The three vials—golden, silver, and crimson—hovered side by side before fading away entirely.
The pixie flew closer to Leo, her bright, glowing eyes locking with his.
“Now, cadet, I told you all this not just to stuff your brain with trivia, but so you don’t act like an ignorant rookie when you meet an enhanced soldier.”
She pointed a tiny finger at him.
“You’ll see people with rhino horns, glowing reptilian pupils, scaled arms, and even shadowy demonic wings. They’re not monsters, mutants, or creatures—they’re soldiers, and every scar, every enhancement they bear comes with a story and sacrifice.”
Leo nodded solemnly, understanding the weight behind her words.
“Good!” The pixie clapped her hands, and the background began shifting again, the neon laboratory fading away.
“Now that we’ve got that cleared up, let’s move on to… hmm, what should we talk about next? Oh! Let’s discuss ranks and responsibilities in the universal military! For it may be useful in your journey!”
The scene shifted, and Leo prepared himself for the next wave of information as the pixie grinned mischievously.
A series of military badges appeared before her, with the first one being a simple design with one stripe, and the last one being an intricate medal with lots of carvings and design work going into it.
