Smiling like an idiot thinking of her red face, Devin happily walked out of the room. Despite he had more to discuss with her, he let her escape so that he can catch her after breakfast. Just when he stepped down the stairs, he could hear a familiar voice from the distance.
"Another troublemaker landed." Devin suddenly recalled his friend might have known her already when he thought of Leena's best friend. While Devin was mulling over the idea, out of blue, he was squeezed in a fleshy hug.
"Vincy! Man! I missed you a lot." A voice like a strained foghorn reached into his ears.
"How are you?" His excitement was all over when he saw Devin instead of that ugly face as soon as he landed.
"Fine and dandy like cotton candy, Mr. Jasper Allen," Devin replied too muddle-headed to realize the loophole.
"Are you Wang Devin or his doppelganger?" Jasper's mouth wide opened listening to his reply. He was a hard time connecting his friend's usual one-word reply to a comical answer now.
When Devin reflected on his friend's question, he was also astonished by the answer he slipped. Why did I answer in such a witty way?
"I_I_ nevermind. There might be a familiar person you may encounter. Don't get shocked seeing." Devin had a hunch that Jasper would be knowing her, after all, Reese is her best friend. There is a high chance that Leena would guess his identity also, but he did not care. Just that he would miss the thrill of the cat and mouse game both are playing.
"Familiar person? Who is_" Before Jasper could ask the name, Devin disappeared?
"Get fresh and come down, Jasper. I have arranged the room already." Edging towards him, Leah handed the key to his room cracking his head to think of that familiar person.
"Thank you, Leah! One more thing, I heard from my baby sister that Crazy Leena is also here for the wedding. Arrange a room far away from her and also from that nutty Andrew. I can't even bear their presence for one hour, much less six days."
Leah weakly nodded her head walked out to let him face the reality. Only if Jasper knew.
….
After Leena got fresh, she was supposed to go down for breakfast. But all her favorites were readily kept on the table. Who else it could be except him. He is so cute. with a satisfactory smile, she began devouring the food like a hungry horse.
Finishing her breakfast, Leena began watching Lion King out of boredom. Tired of watching it hundreds of times already, she shut down her laptop to go and check on Andrew. He would pester me all-day coming to my room. Where did he vanish now?
"God! Please let that idiot disappear for today. I can't show my face after all the things I did in the night." Leena pleaded as if her life was banked on it. Just when she reached for the doorknob to sneak out quickly, it was unfastened and then entered the devil.
Oh no!
Leena flushed in embarrassment recalling the night events. Speak of the devil, here he is. Come on, Leena! Think of a plan to escape. But right now nothing was kicking her brain.
"Where to?" Devin questioned closing the door before she could escape.
"I_I, I am going to Andrew's room to play with him." Before Leena could run, her body was twirled and shoved against the door. Thinking that she would kick him, he pinned with his body latching the door.
"Not until we settle some accounts." His hoarse voice fluttered in a whisper into her ears.
Her blush seared through her cheeks and for a second she thought her face was on fire with their closeness. Feeling coy, all of a sudden, she even went as far as attempting to hide her cheeks with her slender fingers.
"Why don't you put up a bold front when you are sober?" Devin whispered, grabbing her fingers, his gaze not even dropped for a moment from her flushed face.
"I_I_ I didn't do_"
Her thoughts halted with a jaw-dropping moment when Devin suddenly grabbed her hand taking it further down to the south.
Did he take my hand there for real? Leena cried when her voice did not reach her mouth when her breath tightened in her throat.
"It's all yours. Don't you want to see it? You even started scolding me for not showing it yesterday."
"Ummm...I have no idea what you are talking about." Leena tried to kick his leg, pulling her hand away but it was no use in front of this elephant. She was glad that he is just teasing and didn't put her hands down there.
"Easy darling. I am here to talk about something important." Devin whispered turning her face when she looked away for a distraction.
"I am not interested to_"
"Shall we do a mistake right now which we will regret later?"
Leena opened her mouth in shock, not because of his words. Because she felt a little Deja Vu.
"It's not a dream. Do you remember now?" Devin chuckled when he could see her shocked face.
These were the same words Leena spoke with Devin in her drunken stupor.
Rewinding yesterday's scene.
After Devin brought the hummus, Leena began lying on his lap while Devin has taken up the job of spoon-feeding her. She did not leave him at all even once.
"More!" She demanded when the whole tub was already finished.
"No! You had enough already." He was getting tired of her bratty activities. It was already four in the morning, but she is as active as a horse.
"Ewww...You are a big miser. You don't give me hummus and you don't even show my banana. You should get punished." Getting up from his lap, Leena pushed him onto the bed and climbed on him straddling with her body.
"Wh_"
His words pared suddenly.
"Shall we do a mistake right now which we will regret it later?" Leena whispered tracing a finger to the edge of his lips without touching them.
"Only one mistake." She confided. "Because I never make the same mistake ag_"
Her words were cut off when Devin flipped towering her body, buckling his knees on either side of her thighs.
"No! Let's make more sweetheart. Only then we will learn from mistakes." Now it was his turn. His thumb slowly brushed her soft lips as their breaths hitched. Now, he had an urge to break her and ravish her lips.
"OMG! It is ticking." Leena giggled, her hands unconsciously locked around his neck pulling close to her. "Where do we start our first mistake then?"
"Let's start with X, darling," Devin whispered resting his forehead against hers, taking shallow breaths.
"Huh? Isn't it English Twenty-fourth alphabet?"
"But for us, it means Kiss." He slightly grazed her neck with his stubble.
"It tickles." She giggled. "Then, I want X Square."
Her words were setting him to a fire, but Devin was considering her state to move further or not. He didn't want to take advantage of her drunken state, but something in him telling to tear her apart. I never faced such kind of dilemma even when closing a deal. Finally, his conscience won him over his desire. Besides, she would flare up in anger once she is sober.
He got up from his bed and walked out to have a cold shower even when Leena started shouting demanding for X Square. Taking advantage of a woman doesn't make him a man and it is against his morals.
Present...
Devin pulled his mind out of that steamy scene. He did not want to embarrass her by telling their night activities.
"I did not know your perverted skills are at the national level."
"I_I don't remember doing those. Besides, you are missing logic. There is no proof that I am behind all those things." Leena got a chance to escape from his harsh qualms. What nonsense you spoke with him, Leena! Mad girl! Even when she ransacked her brain, she could only remember a little of X and X square. She didn't understand why she is remembering algebra here.
"My bad that I was busy taking care of a toddler, So I could not record your stunts."
"Is it? Then did I ask for a waffle?" Leena asked trying to shift from the topic.
"You are worse than that. A Hakuna Matoddler crying and asking why the waffle was taken away." Devin honestly didn't have a rest for a minute yesterday heeding to this kid.
With a pout, she hit his shoulder for calling her worse.
"I_I want to tell you one more thing." He hesitated to speak on how she would react. "Kyle went to the same school which I studied. There is nothing more. Don't assume things. I have already made it clear to her." Devin wanted to slowly understand his intentions toward her.
"Hmph. It has nothing to do with me. I am not interested in your affairs." Leena walked away seizing the chance. She remembered a little, talking about Kyle calling her Leech. So, he made it clear to her? Is it because of me? Even though Leena did not show in front of him, there was a satisfactory smile on her face.
Devin didn't realize, a small seed of warmth and affection that he has sprouted is slowly blossoming into a tree.. Only a little time, it would flourish with a garden of love.
