The dragon's harem

Chapter 1329 - 1329: 11/10 Talent

Arad swung his arm and threw a stone with enough force to cause a shockwave and crack the ground beneath his feet. All the archers around him jumped away, startled as the shot sounded like a cannon and rattled the whole arena.

The stone flew across the sky like a meteor, spinning at great speed as it approached the running statue. With one impact, it shattered both knees and exploded on the hard stone beside the statue, causing a large enough explosion and stone sharpness to rip the statue apart.

From one kilometer away, Arad had managed to hit both knees and even destroyed the target with the impact, showing that he still had more strength in the tank.

Aella took a deep breath beside him and released her bow, causing it to whistle across the sky and nail both knees to the ground, pinning the statue to the ground while doing minimal damage.

The spectators remained silent, both shocked and terrified. The other archers, on the other hand, seemed to get excited as they pulled their strings and fired. This year was going to be fun.

Many had missed their shots, and those who managed to hit both knees could be counted on two hands. Out of everyone who participated, only nine people managed to remain.

Arad, Aella, and four others managed to hit both knees. The remaining three barely hit one knee. The last of them even had a debate with the referee about whether he had hit the knee or the lower thigh, which ended up counting in his favor.

The referee approached the remaining archers and announced the points for this round.

10 meters= 1 point

100 meters= 2 points

300 meters= 3 points

1000 meters/ 1 knee= 4 points

1000 meters/ 2knees= 5 points

In total, ten points without the bonus point at the end for the second knee. This resulted in both Arad and Aella receiving an 11/10, an extraordinary level of performance.

The results were shocking, and everyone had started wondering how in the nine hells Arad could compete with everyone else who carried bows using nothing but his arms. It was a strange sight, a large, muscular man with a large smile throwing rocks at blinding speed and with a deadly accuracy that rivaled, no, surpassed even the best of archers.

The commentator rushed toward Arad, “Sir AO, can I have a moment of your time?”

Arad looked down. The poor man was just 1.6 meters tall{5’3} and looked like a halfling compared to Arad’s massive body. But the man could use his white wings to fly and look Arad in the eyes.

“Of course, we’re waiting for the next round.” Arad replied with a smile, and the commentator looked back at the crowd with a grin, “The people want to know. How did you learn to throw stones that well? I doubt its common skill.”

Arad looked around, “We’ll. There was this time when I was technically sick and couldn’t leave the place where I was recovering. But, I could see my wives chased by a demi-god across the horizon. I had to do something, and it was then that I thought that I could just hit him with a stone.”

The crowd fell silent, and the commentator laughed with a sweaty face, “Really? What happened to that demi-god?”

Arad smiled, “Of course, he is dead now.”

Thinking that Arad was joking, the commentator shifted his attention to Aella, the one everyone saw as the second best since she used a bow, a steel one, but a bow nonetheless.

“Lady, AD, it was quite the surprise today to see so many talents in the art of marksmanship. What is the input of such an achieved archer like yourself?”

Aella looked at him, “As you can see, I’m an elf. I’ve trained with bows for decades and honed my skills longer than most people. In fact, humans who can achieve such a level in their short lives are more talented and impressive than I ever could be.”

“What a humble look on it. But Lady AD, your skills are unmistakably of the highest tier in terms of range and accuracy. Would you mind sharing a bit of your wisdom about it? How could someone get as accurate as you? Besides constant training, of course.”

“Having good eyesight, an understanding of the wind and gravity, and the ability to predict the target’s movements and take account for that.” Aella looked at them with a smile, lifted her bow, and pulled the string, “Also, the strength of the bow itself also matters, so you must also train to use bows with a heavy draw-weight. Mine is a custom-made bow.”

The commentator and the other archers came to check Aella’s steel bow. Some praised the weapon, and some were just unable to believe that someone was crazy enough to make such a thing.

The maids in the VIP room were dripping with sweat. They couldn’t believe what they saw. Aella and Arad had indeed taken the first spots in the first round. If they went on and won, all of them would be rich.

Then, one of the maids looked at Aella’s steel bow that the archers were inspecting. “But that’s an amazing bow. I wonder how much strength she needs to draw it.”

Mira sighed in the back. “What’s amazing about that pile of scrap? It was good at its time, but now it’s a useless piece of steel. It is much better to use bows made from Magic that would work well with her wind magic.”

The maids looked at her, “You know?”

“Of course, I know. I made that thing.” Mira sighed, “Now, I feel like it is an embarrassment. I should make her a better bow when I have the time.” She approached the couch and dropped herself beside Tina, who was feeding Serin.

Serin stopped eating and looked at her.

Mira turned to Serin, “What? Eat, we’ll play later.”

Tina pushed a spoonful of the porridge into Serin’s mouth, “She is right. Eat, you two can play later.”

Soon, the firing rate contest would start.
