The Extra of The Lunerra

Chapter 416: 49: True Identity

Slowly opening my eyes, I lay for a while on my bed, doing nothing for seconds.

After a short while... I let out a deep sigh.

"Sith."

The spirit I had mentioned quickly appeared in front of me, accompanied by turquoise flashes.

"Yes?"

"Celine... Is she here?"

Sith waited a moment before answering, then sighed, just as I did.

’Yes.’

"..."

I slowly got out of bed, grabbed my cane, and went straight to wash my face. Finally, when I entered the kitchen... I was greeted by the sight I had expected.

"Hm, hm- hm hm... mhm..."

Humming to herself, Celine was in front of the counter... slicing tomatoes.

"You wake up early."

When she called out to me, without even turning around, without making a sound, I remembered again what I often forget.

Sixth Sense... right.

"And you even before me, it seems."

I tore my eyes away from her and turned to the table.

In front of me was an image reminiscent of a mixed breakfast. Fried eggs, cheese, olives, salad, honey and many other things...

How long has she been doing this?

"You don’t have to do this."

Celine stopped chopping the tomato in her hand after my words. She turned slightly and fixed her violet eyes on me. She did this for a few seconds without saying anything. Then, she started humming again and continued slicing the tomatoes without saying anything.

I took a deep breath and sat down at the table. She had done it yesterday too. And she was doing it again now. She didn’t really leave my side the whole time I was at home.

I narrowed my eyes, thinking about what she said two days ago.

In the meantime, she finished chopping the tomatoes, approached the table with a smile on her face, and mixed them into the salad. Then she sat down at the table, looked at the breakfast she had prepared without looking at me, and her smile widened.

"Enjoy your breakfast!"

And without waiting for me, she started eating.

She ate.

She kept eating...

"Celine."

Finally, she paused. She turned to me, her smile not leaving her face.

"Yes?"

"I’m not the real Aiden Tenebra."

Her expression froze for a moment, then her brow furrowed.

"Excuse me?"

"Your skill makes you feel like I don’t belong in this world, because I’m not Aiden Tenebra. My real name is Ethan Subter, and the real Aiden Tenebra committed suicide a year and a half ago, then I woke up in his body after my own death."

"..."

She looked at me with her eyes, never changing her expression. And then...

"So?"

"..."

"I don’t belong to this world, I fool everyone around me with an identity that doesn’t belong to me. In fact, I’m actually twenty-two years old. Not nineteen."

"…"

She was silent for a short while, then turned her eyes to the table and took a fork from the salad.

"So?"

I couldn’t help frowning when I saw how... uncaring she was behaving.

As if... as if she didn’t believe I was telling the truth. Even though she has the Sixth Sense.

"I’m telling you I’m fooling everyone, including you."

"Have I ever spoken to the real Aiden Tenebra?"

I paused for a moment at the sudden question.

"No...?"

But she simply shrugged her shoulders at my answer.

"Which means you’ve been yourself from the moment we first met."

Then, she continued with his meal.

"I live under a false identity."

"If you were put into the body of the real Aiden Tenebra, it would be absurd to pretend to be someone else, willingly or unwillingly. After all, the official name of this body is Aiden Tenebra."

He put his fork down on the table, swallowed his mouthful and then stared at me.

"I don’t care if it’s true or not, Aiden. Or Ethan. I’m not too stupid to understand that you’re using this to make me stop doing what I’m doing. And, no, I won’t. And, once again, no, even if what you say is true, and I don’t think you’re lying anyway, it won’t change how I feel about you."

"..."

I tore my eyes away from her, picked up one of the forks on my side, and started eating too.

Breakfast... continued in silence. And neither she nor I said anything until it was over.

"Though... does your sister know about this?"

"..."

*******

At noon that same day, I went straight to Melany’s room without even bothering to go to my class.

It didn’t matter whether I went to class or not.

Either way I was going to graduate, my connections would never allow me to fail my classes or get kicked out of the academy, no matter what I did academically.

And... it didn’t matter much whether I graduated or not. After all, the planet would start to face one disaster after another before I graduated.

So, with calm and slow steps, I reached her room, and when I knocked on the door, the answer came quickly.

"Come in."

She was sitting at her desk, waiting for me. Her eyes and ears at the academy were, logically, so many that she probably knew I was coming when I hadn’t even gotten to my class and was already climbing the stairs.

But I didn’t care about that.

I closed the door, walked slowly back to her desk, and sat down in one of the guest armchairs.

"What are you here for?"

She knew I wasn’t here for nothing. Especially since I had walked here instead of calling from my watch.

"Your husband, Leonard. I need to speak to him."

Her brows furrowed, her eyes narrowed. I practically had nothing to do with her husband for a very long time. In fact... I hardly ever heard of him, let alone had anything to do with him.

He was a very busy man and at the moment... he was dealing with something important.

"What do you even need him f-"

"Laute Family, I know a way to find out where they are and I plan to wipe them out of the kingdom."

Her eyes widened rapidly at my words. Her reaction was so quick and unexpected that she almost jumped to her feet, yet she managed to stay in place. Her blue eyes began to shimmer slightly as she looked at me with a look of disbelief.

"Did you say Laute?"

I nodded without answering, and with that, Melany froze in place.

It was understandable.

After all, the Laute Family was... wanted by almost the entire world, not just this kingdom and the elves they had betrayed.

They were known to be in Cevilian, because that’s where most of their operations were taking place.

But it was impossible to know their exact location. They were so successful at disguising themselves, operating so secretly and quietly, that the world had begun to forget what a threat they were.

"H- how did you find out about this?"

"I found Rian Laute’s grandchild."

And again, her eyes widened as if she had been stunned.

"D- don’t tell me..."

I shook my head from side to side without letting him finish her words.

"No, it’s not Adrian."

Even Rian, the man who is now the head of the Laute Family, Alysia and Adrian’s grandfather, doesn’t know Adrian exists.

Well... maybe he does. Considering the ’order’ he gave Alysia...

"But yes, they study at this academy. And no, I won’t tell you who they are, because they’re not an enemy, they’re a friend."

If I reveal Alysia’s identity... I would be neutralizing someone with a lot of potential that I could use in the future.

That’s why I still want to meet Leonard and deal with him about Laute, instead of going straight to the kingdom and finishing everything in just two or three days.

I stretched slightly, leaned back in the armchair, and then raised my eyes to Melany’s again. She didn’t seem to have recovered from what she had heard, to be honest.

"Melany... I need to speak to Leonard."

"A- ah... Sorry."

She quickly opened a holographic screen in front of her, then initiated a call to a number in her contacts.

The barrier between the Physical Realm and the Spiritual Realm is not something that can be easily broken.

The reason why this barrier was created in the first place was to completely separate the spirits from the Physical Realm and keep them that way forever.

Therefore, many conditions had to come together for it to be ’broken’.

For example, the seals holding the barrier in place had to be found and broken, a connection between the Physical Realm and the Spiritual Realm had to be established, there had to be a few spirits already in the Physical Realm despite the existence of the barrier, and so on and so forth.

And there is a place on Lunerra that fulfills most of these conditions. Though... actually, not completely on Lunerra.

The Alius-type dungeon that Leonard and his team cleaned up.

This dungeon did not harbor any intelligent life forms, because the world that this dungeon connected to Lunerra... was actually the world where spirits created the barrier that separated them from the Physical Realm.

Without even realizing it, Leonard and his team, while completing the dungeon’s assigned task, broke several of the seals that created the barrier, weakening it slightly and fulfilling the conditions that allowed the spirits to break through it.

Although they didn’t tell anyone, two of their team had already made a contract with a spirit even before the descent of spirits. They just hadn’t revealed it to Lunerra.

In short, they are the main reason why the spirits were able to successfully descend to Lunerra.

And that is precisely why Leonard is quite busy at the moment. He’s taking care of the official business of that Alius-type dungeon he cleaned.

Yet he had a great weakness for his family. So when his wife, Melany Quie, who was standing right in front of me, told him to come to the academy as fast as he could... Leonard didn’t even question why.

I have no idea where he was when we told him to come... but it only took that giant seventeen minutes to get here. And with a gigantic smile on his face, he literally burst in, ducking a little to avoid banging his head on the top of the door.

"I’m here, my dear wife! I realized it was urgent and I came as fa-"

His words were suddenly cut short. All the emotion in his eyes disappeared one by one as he realized my presence.

First his lips flattened, then his blood-red eyes narrowed and his expression became deadly serious.

Normally, he had deliberately left the door open so that everyone could hear him and his ’love’ for his wife. But now... not caring about that, he closed the door and gave me his full attention.

"I should have guessed it had something to do with you."

He approached slowly, placing himself in the armchair directly opposite me, despite his gigantic figure.

"What do you want?"
