Elkim, Perkis, and Helen watched Zaos crossing the town while he defeated a small number of their elite soldiers that they had put inside the walls if he managed to enter by some miracle. However, not only did Zaos manage to enter the town almost unscathed, but he also was terrifying enough to make more than two-thirds of the soldiers run away or drop their weapons and surrender.

"What a monster…" Perkis said. "To think that a human could become that strong while studying magic and physical combat, If I hadn't see this with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it..." ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"It seemed that we chose the right side this time," Helen said. "Drannor said that half of the Ashiris kingdom would be ours if we defeated Zaos, but I bet he imagined we would fail."

Elkim was watching impatiently from his tower while Zaos was approaching as if he were the town's owner. Fifteen years ago, he didn't believe when his brother returned home without his arms after being bested by an eleven years old boy, but now that he could see what that boy had become, he could imagine why his brother lost. Still, to think that such powerful men were just living a normal life inside his country without plotting to take over the world with his power… Elkins could easily imagine himself succeeding in that if he had the same skills. To make matters worse, Zaos was fighting with a single fucking arm… if he didn't know any better, he would say that Zaos himself was the demon god, but he knew that Zaos was also the soldier who killed the most followers of the demon god.

"I want that power…" Elkim said.

"Maybe I can have it… if I lure him into my bed," Helen said while licking her lips.

"You two are truly pathetic…" Perkis said. "Such an opponent… a living legend is coming to fight us, and all you can do is tremble in fear."

Although he said that, Perkis was trembling inside. While he liked a good battle, he never accepted one where he knew he would die… until now, he was clearly the strongest in all his fights. Still, the difference between the serious Zaos and himself was impossible to measure. Perhaps it could be a good fight if he doesn't use his magic, but why would he do that?

While those three were letting dark emotions control them, they never noticed the air around them getting colder. Suddenly, some dark spheres appeared behind them, and then those entered their bodies. In the next moment, those three began to tremble uncontrollably while something was taking over their bodies. However, they didn't resist for long… in a matter of seconds, Xergoron, Tynessa, and Darkaun had taken over their bodies, and now they were more than ready to have their revenge.

Zaos confirmed with Magic Tracking that no more squads were waiting to ambush him when he reached the center of the city. While he could sense many presences inside the houses, he doubted that the mercenaries would hide in there. That being said, he began to worry about something more important when he looked at the building where he met the three mercenary leaders for the first time. The tower seemed pretty ominous if compared to the first time he saw it… was it because Zaos' anger didn't decrease? Or was it because of something else? Nevertheless, Zaos approached it without lowering his guard, and that worked well for him.

When Zaos was fifty meters away from the tower, he saw the walls of the last floor cracking, and then suddenly something passed through… something big. Zaos immediately jumped backward to dodge the massive thing that fell on the streets like a meteor. The impact had been so powerful that it raised a curtain of dust. Still, Zaos didn't have to wait for the dust to disappear for him to know what was there.

"Darkaun…" Zaos muttered in annoyance and surprise.

Zaos had gotten stronger since the last time, but a direct fight against that thing still would be difficult. As if things weren't troublesome enough, Zaos could feel other demonic presences leaving the tower. He recognized those presences as well…, but instead of greeting him, they stayed flying high in the sky since they knew that they couldn't withstand the power of his Thunder Blade, but they could dodge it if they were far away.

"It has been a while, human," Darkaun said.

"Spare me of your bullshit," Zaos said. "You are monsters, but you are human as well. A very stupid human, but a human nonetheless."

"You surprised me last time… I died, and I didn't have even know-how," Darkaun smiled viciously. "I hope that you can give me a better fight this time."

Zaos would give them more than a good fight… he would obliterate them. However, considering that those three returned together, wouldn't it mean that they are pretty high-ranked demons? Maybe Zaos could get some valuable information from them. Still, how come they managed to return together… they shouldn't be able to communicate over long distances, not even when they are alive, much less when they are dead…

It seemed like Darkaun wanted to talk more to raise the tension of the fight, but his allies didn't share the same feeling. Xergoron and Tynessa began to fire some bolts of darkness, and Zaos began to move back to avoid them. Although they flew without making any noise, when they hit the ground, they destroyed the place they were hit and turned the ground into dust, just like when Zaos used raw mana. Being hit by something like that won't be… pleasant.

Before Zaos could even come up with a decent strategy to deal with those two, Darkaun suddenly dashed at him with his massive body. Zaos jumped to the side and dodged the attack, but the pressure of the air still messed with his stance. Before he could recover, Darkaun charged toward him yet again.
