Chapter 269 - Not My Child

Chapter 269 - Not My Child

Without saying anything further, he handed her the cup of tea which she took with firmness. Taking the sip of it, her eyes widened when she realized that it was indeed very tasty.

'This man does know how to impress girls with his cooking skills. Similar to Javier…' she was already feeling lucky enough to be able to land herself in this position, all because she got the food to eat in his hand.

Taking a sip of the tea, she encouraged their conversation, "What happened with you?"

Ellen took the tea as well in his hand. Instead of sitting on the chair, he sat near the fireplace, on the carpet below.

What she observed was the change in his eyes which was evident to see. A layer of mist and winter flake was covering his eyes, making him slightly distant from her now.

"Not that bad.. but something grave to this. That is why I told you.. you ended your relationship just on time. Otherwise, it would have been too late, if the families were invited."

"W-was.. your relationship too deep?" Hannah asked hesitantly, unsure if he would even respond or not.

Initially, he didn't. But with passing time, it seems like he wasn't able to hold himself from saying, "Six years… It was a six years old relationship which ended.. just before the new phase of my life."

Six years!?! She couldn't help but widen her eyes as she realized that his relationship had survived for the past six years… without a proper marriage.

Because they all are very much young and have no idea about what feelings are, till a very young age they consider the wrong person as their love.

A similar mistake was committed by her but somehow she had to overcome it.

Her hands made a circle around the cup. Her eyes never left the teacup but her eagerness was almost at its peak,"Despite the deepness of the relationship? New phase?"

Taking A? deep breath, Ellen's grip tightened around his cup of tea were decided to speak further, "My relationship ended just before my marriage. Just two days before the marriage when everyone was already planning. Everything was planned and the cards were already sent out."

BOOM!

Hannah's eyes were wide as horror-struck her. This piece of information is hard to digest since it is already very much unexpected from his side.

'Just two days before marriage?! Holy shit! What could have happened for his marriage to halt then?'

Despite knowing that intruding in anyone's life wasn't a good option either but her curiosity isn't getting anything good out of her.

All she wished to know was probably because they both have come to a point in this life where they knew the feeling of hurt too well to understand it anymore.

"T-two days? You mean so to say that.. you and your ex-"

"Yes, two days before marriage. We were happy everything was going smoothly until one day I found out that she is pregnant with someone else's child and has cheated on me."

Maintaining the same smile, despite much but to her disbelief, her heart already increased its pace.

If only she could express the feeling that he might have felt at that point.? "Your.. girlfriend was pregnant? But.. maybe that might have been..your child…"

"No, that wasn't mine if you are thinking because… She had a one-night stand with someone, behind my back. The man with whom she had affairs and affairs contacted me a few days before marriage."

"I disregarded the man, thinking that it must be a prank or someone playing a trick because… many weren't happy with my wedding with that girl. Until one day, the man showed up to my place to give me the proof."

Hannah gulped the saliva present in her mouth, as she dared to ask, "that.. the.. child isn't yours?"

In return, she received a nod from his side which clearly expressed that it was the most disheartening thing he went through.

Slowly and steadily, he normalized his expressions and behavior a bit to say further,"I was never amazed that she went on to have one night stands behind my back.. and.. accidentally she was pregnant by one, and had planned to defend by saying that the child was mine."

That was the most dreadful thing one can witness, Hannah thought.

No one would be good and that would be the biggest lie if he had married the lady. 'Can't believe that the girl had the audacity to have a one-night stand and also put the label of father on him… such a bad thing..'

Grateful that the marriage didn't take place, the man actually reached out to him personally, at his place to personally expose the lady.

As a matter of fact, no one wants to just raise the kid for someone else… until and unless it is the order truth that has been put forward in front of you.

Hannah can't even imagine this situation, or what he actually went through, only if she could actually be better with this man who underwent tough circumstances.

"So…" Hannah coughed slightly to gain his attention, "You broke the wedding afterward?"

"Obviously I did. It happened to be done. I don't want to get married to someone who is making up things or lying. That would be the better to stay out and get humiliated instead of staying married throughout my life with a cheater."

Hannah nodded her head to understand the matter of fact that was the best thing to actually do, the best type one can go for.

"But, Where is that girl now?" Hannah asked out of the blue, later on, to realize that this wasn't the thing to ask him.

On the other side, hearing this question, a faint smirk lingered on his lips when the corner of his lips curled upwards, "Probably ruining some other man's life for money and.. fame."
