The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 339 - Alice Anderson

Chapter 339 - Alice Anderson

"The marriage certification which is internationally valid?'' he enquired, to which she vigorously nodded her head, "That's the one.."

Javier nodded his head in response to her words but that didn't seem to make him understand in which lane she was actually thinking of. "What happened? Why did it make you wonder about it?"

At this point, Jennifer had her fingers intermingled with his fingers as she glanced at them with the absolute tenderness in her eyes. For some unknown reason, she found it hard to comprehend why she felt this way.

But after learning that her marriage with Javier was simply invalid when it comes to abroad and anywhere else, her heart grew heavy after hearing the same thing. She can't help but feel herself at the stage of being not fully secured legally.

"I..I was wondering, why don't we apply for that?" Jennifer asked with a slightly low voice, enough to be heard by Javier. However, this brought a clearer frown over his forehead when he didn't find anything meaningful in the same, "Why do you want to do that?"

"Well…you know… Lucas is still very much interested in marrying me. Shouldn't we get more equipped so that he gets a hint that he can't marry me anymore?" She put the entire blame on Lucas, whereas, her heart was the one who wished to get more secure in her marriage life.

"Surely, we can do that if you want to. I can ask my man to look into this and apply for a date.'' His answer was like relief washed over her head where she felt her heart feeling satisfied, "That would be best. It would be great if we do that as early as possible…"

"Hmm...Sure! If this is what makes you happy then why not?"? Javier tugged her more closely to his chest where he felt the warmness engulfing his heart. Not only that, his mind recalled the time when in his university days, how much he longed to do the same with her. To tightened her into his arms, and caress her hands in the same way. Make her feel all the love he has for her and never leave her side.

Yet it was the past which he wasn't able to let go and the only thing he has the power of was that of the present. 'Don't worry Jennifer …I will eliminate the threat named Lucas very soon also…'

With this determination presenting his mind, he smirked to keep his head in the lap of her neck. "Do you know… how much I missed you?"

"I...I missed you too…but Javier, I was thinking about one more thing which you didn't tell me ever.." Jennifer stammered in her speech, trying her best to not sound too underconfident.

"What have I never told you?" he asked without realizing what he said, only to draw over him when he heard her words, "A-About your mother…where is she now?"

The words were like a bomb dropped over his head which made Javier freeze in his position. Dumbstruck from head to toe, he didn't move for the next few minutes away from her body.

Meanwhile, Jennifer waited patiently for him to respond since she developed this in her mind very well that this was a touchy topic for him.

'This is a sensitive thing for him…' she realized this is a much better way when he didn't even speak for the next few minutes. His rigid body gave her the best reaction out of this conversation.

"Javier….it's alright."

"There is nothing to hide. Everyone is aware of this…so I think you should also know about this…"

Javier's words were more like a heavyweight that brought unhappy memories back into his mind.

Jennifer never wanted this, but her inner curiosity got better out of her.

When she felt his body getting more rigid, she was unable to not react. Turning around, in her blanket, Jennifer faced him to lift her lips and plant a kiss over his lips.

This seemed to bring him out of his daze where he kissed her back with the same intensity, leaving no space for her to take back from what they are doing.

But before things could get out of his hands, Javier pulled back, "Let me just tell you this…"

As these words left his mouth, Jennifer nodded her head where she regained her earlier position, to keep her head on his hard like chest, "I'm listening…"

Taking a deep breath, Javier glanced at the fireplace where his eyes turned slightly aloof over remising what his mother had once narrated to them about her and his father's past, the part of her life which she surely regretted.

"It was long before my father had anything in his hands…nothing…he had nothing in his hands except the mere title of this Johnson family. She belonged to one of the influential families of abroad that have made their base here…in this state and the name of? my maternal family is, Andersons…"

"Andersons?" She found this name to be heard somewhere in the back of her memory. Yet, it was hard to draw any connection easily.

Seeing her in the same state of mind, Javier realized she found it strange as well, "That is another tale. You must have heard this name….I know…since the university in which we studied belonged to… my maternal family."

She heard his words only with her eyes wide. "S-So..you studied at your universities?

"That is how I got a one-year break as well.." a deep chuckle left his lips before he continued, "My mother was sent here, to work on the project which they had decided to launch in this state."

…..

Flashback.

Working in her cabin, Alice Andreson was immensely immersed in her work when she heard the knock on the door.

Without lifting her eyes, she said, "Who's there?"

"Miss…..it is already very late. I think you should take a rest. It has been already a day since you arrived and since then, you have been working hard…" hearing this, a laugh left off from Alice's lips.

Lifting her eyes, the lady wearing a fine formal coat with her hair tied into a pony looked at her secretary, "Is that so? But I think there are many things which this company is in need of."

"You don't have to think about that. We will work on that since you are already here…." hearing this, the lady nodded when she closed the files that were present in her hands. Keeping the pen back into its stand, she stood on her toes and took her bag into her head.? Stretching her hands, she massaged her neck a bit before her gaze fell on her secretary again.

"Abbey, tell me, which is the best bar nearby here?"
