On hearing her question, Jack had also taken a sip of his drink. As the wind blew, his hair was also flying a bit.
But his face stayed stagnant in its place and expressions, showing no mercy even the slightest bit.
"Because Amara's cunningness never failed to create traps for my mother ever. My mother lost her second child because of that bitchy lady. One day, she had actually called my father at home, saying that my grandfather wasn't well. She even tricked the butler into saying this to my father when he had called at home..."
"She has always been schemey...?" Jennifer muttered when she felt that the uneasiness had started to trace even her heart.
The fact that even Miss Veronica had gone through the loss of her child can be understood by her very well.
After all, it all happened because of Lucas, the man for whom she bore immense hatred. If not for him, maybe she and Javier would have been celebrating their child's news.
For a few seconds, Jack took a pause to even blink his eyes and remove the tears that had formed. Narrating everything that had taken place with his mother also made him sentimental.
On Seeing this side of his, Jennifer patted his back before she came to his comfort, "You don't have to cry, be happy that your mother had such deep love for your father and you're an outcome of it..."
"But that night changed many things." Jack told, coughing a bit before he started again, "She had given something to my father to drink, I Guess water and that too was brought by the butler, not by her. He just took a glass of water and...it was drugged. She literally drugged my father.... and we all know what happened afterward."
Initially, Jennifer's heart was always caged by the rods. She found it extremely hard to absorb everything since it felt so unreal.
Maybe, if she was hearing any other novel. But only Veronica knew that this wasn't any novel plot but the reality that she had heard about.
'Such deep love does exist...' And Miss Martin was an example of that. Maybe a night might have resulted in a mistake and that was of Lucas but there was no denying that his heart never budged out from Veronica ever.
"So....Lucas was also born when Amara Smith had played the tricks..." Jennifer asked to get a nod from his side, "He is a result of the tricks, whereas, I'm the result of love. But the solid proof that everything is different is that he is the legitimate son whereas I'm just born out of woodblock.." He can't help but let out a sigh from his mouth.
Jennifer nodded her head since this is the reality which they are facing. In everyone's eyes, Jack will be nothing but she can see that his heart is as pure as his mother and father. There was no level of the scheme, but the circumstances have made him turn into the one.
'He does have a clear heart unlike Lucas...who is absolutely a jerk...' she can't help but praise Jack, for not trying to even take advantage of her, despite this being late.
She came across his gentle side, which was enough for her to understand that she might..never be at loss by shaking her hand with this man..or maybe not?
When Jennifer was doing calculations inside her mind while looking out from the terrace she saw the buildings and everything. The city life was present in front of her eyes but more than that, she heard his voice again.
"You know.... my father always claimed that Lucas was never his child. But his facial expressions were proof of everything..." A chuckle left from his slips when he continued, "...At once, we all felt that Amara had gone to take the help of my father's cousin, who is kind of similar to him. But..there were the reports of the blood tests...." Jack's words made Jenifer's eyes sparkle again.
But she kept herself sealed. There was no need for her to raise her opinion until now. Maybe, when the right time is there, she may spank it bluntly and prove it too?
However, the same can't be said for Jack, who had dozens of emotions hidden in the packet of his heart, which he had never revealed to anyone else except his ex-girlfriend.
"Lucas is the apple of Grandfather's eyes. there is no denying that I can't have what he possesses...until there is the downfall of Lucas."
"So you want to destroy Lucas, to get revenge for your mother?" Jennifer can't help but ask in return, when she rotates her heart stares at him. "Your mother has suffered a lot, she does need justice against everything."
"That isn't the only thing..." Jack blurted, making Jennifer's brows curve into straight lines she was dumbfounded about his words, what did he mean that this wasn't sufficient to handle out?
In return, when Jack sensed that his words didn't make any sense to her, he finally took a deep breath to speak again, "That is true. My father...and Amara had a night and this was enough to make my mother break down mentally and with everything she had, it was tough to handle that the man who is with her for so long had finally... broken the promise of loyalty."
"But this wasn't what came as a nightmare but the news that Amara was pregnant and had a son, which was ultimately taken as the illegitimate one. My mum knew that in the future, I might never have anything in my hands, so she met with grandfather....without letting my father know.."
FLASHBACK
Sitting in the study belonging to grandfather Smith, he looked at the lady in front of his eyes who held a sense of confidence in herself.
Despite being labeled as the mistress of Max, she never budged from her position even a bit.
The tea was served to them by the butler who had closed the door of the study behind him leaving. When they both were left alone, did' grandfather Smith raised his brows.
"Why did you wish to meet with me?" he asked her, openly to which Veronica's lips were curved into a smirk.
"You had told me that, if I wish to leave Max's life, you are willing to give me anything..and this means anything. So, are you still resolute on your words, Elder master Smith?"
