THE LAST PARAGON IN THE APOCALYPSE

Chapter 663 - 663: Vida Stronghold

“I couldn’t help but notice you were admiring my handsomeness, so I said, why not come a little closer to have a talk with such a gorgeous beauty?”

Vida Stronghold, who had taken her eyes off Klaus and Nia, nearly jumped in fright as a voice spoke from behind her.

She could swear it had been less than three seconds since she last looked at Klaus. So how, then, was he standing behind her? The dangerous part was that she hadn’t noticed him appear there.

Klaus smiled, watching her move away from him and look at him as if she had seen the most dangerous monster in existence.

“You know, it’s not nice to sneak up on people,” she said in a calm tone.

“I couldn’t resist approaching you since you were too shy to come to me,” Klaus said with a smile.

Vida looked at him with so many negative thoughts before sighing.

If she were to think of what had to be done to this brat, perhaps by the time she was done, so many ladies would be shedding tears.

“I want to talk to you,” she said.

“I am here, so you might as well get to it,” Klaus said with a smile. The process by which he moved and appeared behind Vida was just too alarming.

I mean, with someone at her level, she should at least sense some disturbance. But even with her level 4 Sovereign stage senses, she didn’t even sense a peep from him.

“I was sent here as the representative of the Neutral factions—my faction which is the Iron Fist Clan, and the Aqua Spirit Sect. We are the only two factions that didn’t look for trouble with your faction.”

“I know, and that was smart of you,” Klaus smiled, but Vida didn’t. The smile coming from Klaus was anything but friendly as he complimented them for not coming after his faction.

“We have an offer, and we would like to see if you are interested.”

“Fire away. I’m listening.”

“We want to form an alliance with you. We have seen over the past month how much your faction is growing, so we want to form an alliance with you so our factions can also benefit.

We would like to rise alongside you, especially since most of our members are friends with people from your faction.

I would also like to point out that we haven’t accepted any of the members who betrayed your faction, and we are committed to following your orders if that would allow us to form this alliance.

My faction has 1,300 members, and the Aqua Spirit Sect faction has 980 members.”

“I see. It is actually thoughtful of you to seek such an alliance. But I would like to ask: among the thousands of people in the two factions, how many of them do you really trust?

I know there are many, with a few being spies from other factions. So, how many can you trust? Also, how many of them are willing to put their lives on the line for the missions to come?

I know you wanted to find out how my faction members are growing. In truth, they are just committed and willing to embrace the danger—that is how they are rising.

Of course, not all of them are adapting to the change, but their determination is seeing them through, so they never back down.

So, can you vouch for your faction members?” Klaus asked with a slightly serious expression. This caused Vida to sigh.

“To tell the truth, I cannot vouch for 80% of them. But I know and trust a few who are willing to embrace the change and rise.

These few are the ones who are willing to enter the wild with me and fight for this Earth. To tell the truth, I only see 75 as worthy teammates.

But as a faction leader, I can only fight for all my members, which is why I am here now asking for this alliance.”

Vida sighed again.

“It’s good you didn’t lie. This shows you are truly serious about this alliance. I will consider it, but until I make any decision, you cannot tell anyone there will be an alliance.

Also, I have something else I will discuss with you, including the people you truly trust. So, I will give you an assignment,” Klaus said, glancing toward his friends, who were still passed out on the ground.

“What kind of assignment?”

“I want you to find a way to test the loyalty of your members and identify those who are truly loyal. Once you find them, gather their information and come see me.

You can relay this information to the leaders of the other faction. Tell them they should also do the same. Once they have their trusted members, I will decide on the next steps.”

“Alright. Thank you for listening to my request,” Vida said with a slight calmness and a sigh. She could tell she had made progress in her request.

“Don’t worry about it. I cannot, in good conscience, deny a request from such a tall beauty like yourself,” Klaus said, causing Vida to look down at him.

She was taller than Klaus, so it was really funny watching him from above. Klaus smiled, raising his eyes to meet her gaze.

The two appeared like the Shorty and the Mountain Titan…Such a nice story

“I will be leaving now.” Vida could only sense the mischief in his gaze, so she chose to leave while she was still in control of her emotions.

The eyes staring at her were just too beautiful. If she played around too much, she would find herself in a situation she was not prepared for.

“I look forward to talking to you again, my tall beauty,” Klaus said, causing Vida to trip as she moved away. However, before she could dive face-first onto the floor, a hand caught her.

“You might want to watch where you step, Madam Vida,” Klaus said, helping her stand upright.

Vida hurriedly moved away, trying to hide the redness that appeared on her cheeks. Klaus simply smiled and returned to Nia, who was grinning and shaking her head.

“You really are a brat; you know that right?” she said, opening her arms for Klaus to step into.

“She is special. That body of hers is something she should not take for granted.”

“Then do you plan on making sure her body isn’t taken for granted?” Nia teased.

“It’s only natural. Such a Titan beauty must be nurtured.”
