THE LAST PARAGON IN THE APOCALYPSE

Chapter 721 - 721: Making of the Seven-Star Paragon Force (21)

“Can you go back out there again?” Klaus asked the two ladies who had shown remarkable teamwork by defeating a Level 9 Redwing Diamond Body Tyrant Ant, which was at the 10th Tier.

A true beast on the same level as Overlord Dharma of the Earth-Moon Alliance.

Sofia and Amelia nodded, looking rather happy that Klaus was finally speaking to them without seeming distant.

Before coming to the forbidden zone, Klaus hadn’t been very easygoing with them, so they had appeared more distant.

But now, he was much friendlier. Of course, they knew it was because of the role they had played in him and the conflict with the Legacies.

However, in truth, Klaus just wanted to see if they were truly committed to this training and a possible friendship.

He wasn’t that petty to isolate them from the rest of the team. Of course, gaining his recognition is something else entirely.

But he knew some people tended to get disappointed if they didn’t receive the recognition they desired.

That was actually to be expected, considering that the others in the team were receiving the necessary recognition while they weren’t.

But now, Klaus could finally see that they met the standards he could call friends.

Sofia and Amelia nodded in response to his question.

“Then go back and help your teammates.” They nodded again and flew toward the battlefield. He watched them go, and a smile appeared on his face.

He saw their potential and knew with the right training, they would soar through the dragon gate like the carp and finally become the dragons and phoenix they were meant to be.

“Sofia, you and Amelia should go help Mark and Kathy,” Lucy ordered the moment the two fire ladies reappeared on the battlefield.

They nodded.

However, just before the two ladies could move, Mark spoke.

“That won’t be necessary.”

Mark and Kathy were handling four Tier 10 Redwing Diamond Body Tyrant Ants—odds that the two weren’t equipped to handle them.

Kathy was using her warrior form, which only lasted for two hours each day. However, it wasn’t doing much, and she was even considering the next best option—taking her beast form.

So, for Mark, who hadn’t been able to do anything from the start to stop two helpers from coming to their aid, something had to be amiss.

“Mark, what are you doing?” Lucy asked. She could clearly see that Kathy wasn’t maintaining much control over the situation, and Mark was completely useless, so she had to ask.

In response, Mark gave Kathy an order that held no hesitation.

“Big Sister Kathy, take your beast form and move back.”

Kathy looked at him hesitantly, but recalling what Klaus had said about trusting one’s teammates, she obeyed. A large golden bird appeared, filling the battlefield with her magnificence.

Then she flew back, distancing herself from the four Tier 10 Ants. Again, she was really against whatever Mark was thinking, but she had to trust him.

The moment she was far away enough, Mark lifted his spear and held it in the middle. He then spins it quickly.

Just as he did that, Klaus, who was in tune with reality, felt everything slow down significantly. It was like being struck by a time bomb.

“This can’t be it, right?” he muttered, but as if he had expected it, the four ants lunging at Mark started to slow down until their movements became a slow-motion blur.

Klaus blinked once or twice, but he clearly saw what was happening. Perhaps he didn’t want to accept it, but it was right before his eyes.

Time had slowed down for the four ants.

Kathy, who needed no explanation to understand what this meant, activated a skill that further hardened her already metallic wings, making her feathers several times more piercing.

She took a nose dive, and when she was three meters away, she flapped her wings, sending several metallic feathers that instantly decimated the ranks of the four Tier 10 ants.

They fell slowly, and just a few meters before hitting the ground, time restored itself, making them slam into the earth with full force.

Amelia waved her hand, engulfing them in flames just for precaution’s sake.

Mark, who held a smile on his face, fell from the air, but before he could hit the ground, Klaus moved toward him and encased him in ice.

Lucy looked at Klaus, and when she saw his smile, she felt he would punish her after the battle.

Just now, she had questioned Mark’s decision, and had she acted against it; they wouldn’t have been able to kill four Tier 10 ants in exchange for the life of one of their own.

Danny had killed six and was now out of the battle, and Mark had taken down four and was also off. But that didn’t weaken their team.

It strengthens them, for the odds are finally moving toward their corner.

When Kathy finished off the four ants, she immediately moved toward Hanna and Lulu, who were still battling the berserk ant.

It became a three-against-one battle.

Lucy quickly gave Sofia a new order.

Sofia went to help Daniel and Miguel, while Amelia went to aid Vida now that her teammate Danny was out of commission.

The battle quickly took shape. Soon, it returned to a sense of normalcy, even as more shocking events continued to unfold.

However, the immediate dangers were being swiftly dealt with by Kathy, who was now at full strength, having assumed her true beast form.

Meanwhile, Klaus was observing Kilian’s body with interest, while the senior couldn’t believe his eyes.

[I know this world is not normal just because you are in it. But to think someone with control over time would be among you… Just what is this world?]

Klaus smiled.

The temporal energy surrounding Mark’s body was something he could see. It was similar to Danny’s chaotic energy.

This meant that just as Danny was destined to become a Titan one day, Mark was fated to gain control over time.

“I guess good things happen to good people.”

Klaus didn’t know what else to say, so he simply spoke his mind as he watched the frozen body of his friend, who was now undergoing healing.

[You really have some friends, brat. First, it was a Titan, and now a Chronomancer. I have to say, for someone who has a thing for speed, having control over time too will come in handy.]

Klaus smiled again and poured his Star Qi into the two frozen figures, speeding up their healing processes. He would examine them more thoroughly when the battle was over, but for now, they should rest.

The rest of their teammates were already handling the fight well.

That was especially true for Kilian, who did not miss a beat in his attacks. Jason also was doing the same, wielding light energy in conjunction with sword Qi to unleash powerful sword techniques.

However, while calm was beginning to settle over most of the battlefield, one part was still raging with fire and lightning.

The ants were being swallowed into a hurricane of flames and electricity.

At the center stood Matt and Linda, actively bending the elements to kill as they pleased.

One could even say a certain bald-headed teenager with an arrow lining through his head would look very jealous of these two.
