At the barrier that created the safe space for the moon-born to live in for years, thousands of Lunar Beasts could be seen. Their ranks ranged from the Sovereign stage to the Ascendent stage.
That was an army of beasts that could indeed bring down the entire Moon Race. It was the kind of number that would make any army tremble.
However, not a single person among Klaus’s team wore a panicked expression. On the contrary, they all wanted to jump into the battle…
Suddenly, a powerful presence began to envelop the place. The Tier 11 (Void) stage beasts started to appear. Each was a beast in its own right.
They were powerful, and despite all of them appearing in their demi-beast forms, the aura coming from them was just too much.
Klaus and his team stood on the other side of the barrier, watching the twelve overlords of the moon appear. The sheer arrogance they radiated was enough to tell that they didn’t really take the army they were about to face seriously.
Suddenly, three of them moved closer to the fence and looked at Klaus and his army. Klaus moved forward and stopped behind the barrier.
“I take only three of you who want to surrender,” Klaus said.
“Surrender… No. However, we have an offer for you,” replied a beast—a demi-Phoenix, which caused Klaus to smile inwardly.
She had red hair and was clad in a red dress. However, unlike Nari, Kay, and Amelia, who had managed to become fully human thanks to giving them his blood, this demi-phoenix had her wings behind her, and her eyes were also phoenix-shaped.
Aside from that, her hair had two feathers sticking out on the sides. However, she was a truly beautiful lady. But among the lunar beasts, Zeyra, as they called her, was the strongest of them all.
Almost half of the Tier 11 beasts that appeared were at the Peak of the Void stage, which said a lot about their strength. But she remained undisputed among the Void stage beasts. Klaus saw that and knew she had the right to reject his demand.
Klaus looked around, and what he saw made him smile. He knew that what she was about to say would determine the outcome of the battle.
“Go ahead, I want to hear your offer,” Klaus said.
“Every last one of us will surrender if you can promise this place will be ours to rule after you kill the overlord.”
‘And that is what I am waiting for,’ Klaus smiled.
Zeyra was the strongest, but there was an Overlord they all feared, and seeing a power as strong as Klaus’s, they knew he could help them.
Why? Because the overlord she was talking about was just at level five Void Stage, but she was a monster none of them could handle. She had already killed 8 of them, and if she were allowed to remain at the top, she would soon kill all of them.
“So if I were to help you kill this Overlord, you all will back down and not attack anyone?” Klaus asked, and Zeyra, along with the three that came with her and two more, nodded.
Klaus just smiled.
“Very well. I will help you.” Klaus turned to his left and looked into the distance. A smile appeared on his face as he spoke.
“You can come out now.” Nobody knew who he was talking to. However, their answer came when a sudden shadow moved, and a graceful figure appeared.
“Lady Eren,” Zeyra mentioned the newcomer’s name, fear gripping her.
“Hello, Zeyra. I didn’t know you were also coming here… to meet my master,” Eren spoke as her mask vanished from her face. She moved toward Klaus and knelt down.
“Eren Nightveil, 2nd of the Doom Guards, pays her respect to Master.” Klaus smiled upon hearing that. Though she said the second of the Doom Guards, Klaus knew she meant to say the second strongest.
Not that she was lying; the aura coming from her was enough to show she was indeed worthy of that title. And the best part, she was only at the 5th level of the Void stage.
But despite that, the peak Void stage lunar beasts were trembling when she appeared.
“Stand, Eren,” Klaus commanded. The assassin lady stood up and turned toward Zeyra.
“So, Zeyra, what are you going to do now?” she asked with a smile that made the phoenix lady tremble in terror. Never in her wildest dreams did she think the one she wanted to help kill her adversary would actually be the master of her adversary.
That was the biggest bad luck.
Klaus chuckled. “I don’t want to make things difficult for you. So I will declare again, who among you wants to surrender now? Don’t worry, your overlord won’t interfere, so if you want, you can reject the offer.”
Klaus tapped on the barrier and injected space energy into it. A few seconds later, a crack appeared, and then it shattered, bringing the two forces face to face.
“Those who want to surrender, you have 20 seconds to move that way.”
“Eren, let’s go.” Klaus flew to the left, separating himself from the chaos that was about to occur. A few seconds went by, but nobody made a move.
Fifteen seconds later, a few beasts moved in his direction. Counting, there were only 47 in number. Five of the 12 Void stage beasts, alongside 42 Ascendent beasts.
“Very well. You 47 can wait for me here.” Klaus sent them into the Cube, then he turned to the rest.
“So you all choose death… so be it.” Klaus snapped his fingers, and an ice chair appeared. He sat down and looked at his team.
“Kill them all.”
Danny was the first to enter the battle.
“Finally, I can get to kill some monsters!” His voice boomed as he jumped high into the air. His axe glowed golden, and then, descending, his axe landed on a 30-meter-tall beast, cutting it in half.
Just like that, the battle began. Though Klaus knew the odds his team was facing weren’t for the weak, he knew this was a way for them to see what they could do, and also his way to gauge how much they’d grown.
After this, he had something that would further enhance their strength.
