The Martial Unity

Chapter 3091: Riding Atop

While the Sages led by Amare in North-East Panama commenced a conflict against the convoy of giants that threatened to invade and consume the Panama Continent in their hunger, the Sages in West Panama awaited the arrival of a powerful and swift convoy.

“They’re coming soon, Bodhisattva Maitreyi.”

Amid a battalion of Martial Sages deployed to West Panama, Bodhisattva Maitreyi breathed out deeply as she faced the oceans, all but ready to face whatever came their way. Despite being forced to be deployed twice in a day, she remained tranquil and calm, awaiting the ensuing battle with a calm gaze.

She certainly looked a lot better than she was during the eleven years in the Central Highlands of the Beast Domain, when she was deprived of Amare’s presence. Amare’s return had brought back a certain peace and harmony that she had lost for a while.

It gave her the strength to face anybody and anything.

“How much time,” the elder woman asked with a composed tone.

“…Ten minutes.”

“Prepare yourselves,” she informed them. “If these people are anything like the Tekvores, then we will have great difficulty in dealing with them and we will need to be very careful. It is quite likely that the true world is filled which forces that likely match our greatest assets.”

By which she was referring to herself, of course.

The silver tekvore, Argenton, as they had very recently learned, was very powerful and had left a deep impression. She hoped that he was the only tekvore in the Imperial Tekvorian Federation that was of that caliber of power, but she didn’t think it was quite plausible.

Based on the live reports that she had gotten from about the other battlefields, it appeared that all other parties that had arrived at the Panama Continent were also filled with tremendous powerhouses who could rival the Transcendent Candidates and her own granddaughter.

RUMBLE…

The world shook as tremors passed through heaven and earth.

The Martial Sages gathered about in a tense silence as they stood alert, taking their stances.

Not even the overhead Sun shining brightly upon the world could dispel the heavy darkness that weighed down on the atmosphere.

WHOOSH!

The world shook.

The Martial Sages grew grave as they spotted distant entities in the sky and on the water surging towards them with extraordinary speed and power.

“This…” the Martial Pontifex murmured with a stunned tone. “These aren’t aircrafts or ships… they’re beasts and monsters!”

They flying entities were gigantic winged monsters that stretched kilometers, some even hundreds of kilometers in their tremendously gigantic dimensions.

RUMBLE!!!

The sheer power and energy that these massive beasts unleashed upon the world were extraordinary.

It sent chills across the skin of the Martial Sages as it evoked profoundly unpleasant memories.

The decade they spent sieging the Central Highlands of the Beast Domain had given them unforgettable impression of the quasi-Transcendent beasts and monsters they fought. These creatures, who were able to tangle with Martial Sages one-on-one and even emerge victorious, as proven by the many Martial Sages who had died, were truly forces to reckon with.

The beasts and monsters that surged in the afternoon skies and the warm waters of the Great Nam Ocean gave them those exact sensations.

Some Martial Sages felt goosebumps running down their skin.

Even though they had ultimately emerged victorious in the war against the Central Highlands, many had been deeply wounded and harbored great misgivings.

“We need to kill them before those rabid beasts and monsters reach the continent,” one Martial Sage from the Virodhabhasa Theocracy remarked with gritted teeth. “We can’t allow those quasi-Transcendent grade beasts and monsters to reach the continent!”

RUMBLE!!!

The world shook more violently as the group of enormous and tremendous beasts and monsters churned through heaven and earth, unleashing waves of seismic energy washing across the entire continent.

“Boundless Light,” another Martial Sage urged her. “What are we waiting for? We should attack.”

And yet, she was calm and tranquil, as always. “They are not rabid beasts and monsters. Look closely. Look at what is atop them.”

The Martial Sages returned their attention to the beasts and monsters, squinting as they followed her words.

Their eyes widened as they spotted human-like entities riding atop the beasts and monsters.

“No…” the Martial Pontifex murmured with a stunned expression. “They are not human…”

The closer the beasts and monsters got, the clearer the humans sitting atop them were.

And the clearer it became that they weren’t human.

They spotted a woman riding a cat-like monster, with what were clearly cat ears on her head and cat-like whiskers on her face. The others had distinctly beast-like characteristics as well across their entire body that eerily matched the characteristics of the beasts and monsters that they rode.

RUMBLE!!!!!!

The barren coast that the Martial Sages stood on in West Panama shook as the approaching convoy slowed down, drawing closer and closer to the Panama Continent. The sheer magnitude of some of the monsters was truly enormous, rivaling that of the monsters and beasts in the Beast Domain.

Even though the various Martial Sages gritted their teeth, on the very edge of activating their Realms of power and unleashing a maelstrom of attacks upon the beasts and monsters.

The few times that a quasi-Transcendent had escaped the Beast Domain and entered the continent had led to apocalyptic destruction of countless human lives and capital. They didn’t want a repeat of that occurring once more when they were being approached and attacked by multiple parties and had already entered a state of war with many civilizations.

Bodhisattva Maitreyi narrowed her eyes as she studied the beasts and monsters with her piercing gaze, peering deeper into their true nature than any of the other Martial Sages were able to.

The more she studied these beasts and monsters, the more she was certain of her gut feeling.

These weren’t organic, natural, or regular beasts and monsters who were simply very different from the fauna that they were familiar with in the Panama Continent.

They were closer to biological machines fashioned into beasts and monsters, or the latter being genetically modified and greatly enhanced with powerful biotechnology.

STEP

Her attention was drawn by the human-beast hybrids who leaped off their monsters, drawing closer to the Martial Sages.
