Chapter 3160: Secondary Priority
“Tsk.” A flicker of impatience flashed through Rui’s expression. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. There’s no way that fellow would sit around in the Kandrian Empire when the true world exists.”
“He left a cryptic message for you for when you woke up,” Emperor Rael calmly remarked. “He said, ’tell him that my decision to act is not license for his lethargy. I expect him to dedicate himself to fulfilling his end of our pact.’”
Rui heaved a sigh. “I have racked up way too many commitments these days.”
He hadn’t forgotten the old promise he had made with the Divine Doctor.
In fact, he had hoped that the Unfolding itself would be the so-called illness of Gaia that the Divine Doctor insisted existed. If so, it would mean the issue was resolved since Sage Damian thoroughly destroyed the alien tree. If it were the case, it was impressive that the Divine Doctor was the only person to have mildly detected that the manifold existed, even if he had no idea what it was.
But it appeared that this so-called illness was not as simple as the manifold.
“Oh well, a deal is a deal.”
With Rui’s current sensory prowess astronomically exceeding what it was capable of when he made that deal, he was able to systematically cover large amounts of ground, allowing him to be more efficient with his search.
“I suppose I will have to find him when I enter the true world,” Rui remarked. “I can still experiment by myself, of course. But I will need him for any serious modifications to my body.”
He looked forward to it in the long run.
His attention returned to his father. “Tell you what, I plan to visit non-hostile powerhouses in the true world. Ones that came in peace or didn’t come at all for whatever reason. My primary goal is to elevate my adaptive evolution, but once I have accomplished that, I will take on the role of an ambassador and broker an agreement with that power and the Panamic Alliance. Does that sound like an acceptable compromise?”
His father’s eyes lit up at those words. “That sounds perfect. Any allies you bring us will be greatly appreciated. And given that you will most likely visit powerful countries, it is functionally very similar to if you accepted the diplomat mission as your primary priority.”
His father’s tone was very relieved.
He was glad that Rui wasn’t entirely apathetic to the plight and the severity of the situation that the Panama Continent was in at the moment. He would take anything that he could get, at this point, and he got enough to leave him satisfied.
“Good.” Rui nodded. “Well, I think that largely leaves me certain of my future. I think I will finish everything I have to do on this continent and then depart for the true world soon. I’m sure you guys can manage without me for the time being with the help of the Beast Excursion and the Great Nam Ocean.”
Emperor Rael nodded. “That sounds about right to me. We will be focusing on completing the Economic Corridor Initiative, as discussed. But we will also focus on enhancing our technological power. I will have to set up a special research and development division with the sole task of assimilating true-world technology and combining it with esoteric technology. The Esoterist has unfortunately been stubborn about relying only on esoteric technology.”
Rui’s eyes lit up. “Try Julian Quarrier. He said he’s going to focus on just that and is the most suited person for the role.”
Emperor Rael’s golden eyes lit up. “…An excellent suggestion. I will have him in primary consideration. If he proves to be the best for the role, then I will have him be the director of the entire department.”
Rui smiled. “I’m sure he will have that figured out.”
“Speaking of technology,” his attention shifted to Rui. “I would like for you to give us a hand on the primordial core technology. You seem to have figured it out. One of the reasons we don’t have endless resources of all esoteric substances despite having the Namgung Dynasty’s Primordial reserves is that the most powerful applications of primordial seed have proven to be unstable. For instance…”
His finger traced a circle in the air. “We have tried using primordial seed for the World Bridge, but we have been able to maintain its form in high-energy circumstances.”
“It’s because you collapsed the wave function,” Rui remarked. “Or rather, uncollapse it. It gets its information from the sample it is in contact with. I ensure that it is in contact with only one substance at a time, even when I turn it into human flesh, by isolating it from other substances with an electromagnetic field. This allows me to use it without any issue at all. Including if I want to use it for invintium, which is a nigh-indestructible substance. Most likely, what is happening is that your technologies are not precise enough in the isolation part, so in high-energy situations, it gets exposed to too many different samples, causing the wave function of the pluripotent exotic matter to uncollapse and return to its Einstein-Bose condensate form.”
The Emperor of Harmony gazed at him with a stunned expression.
“What?”
“I will have a write-up that will describe the causes properly,” Rui waved him away. “You should be able to figure it out once you understand the causes. It will be difficult to use it the way I have, which is probably revolutionary, but not impossible. I would recommend you guys study abyssfeeders more carefully with this explanation in mind. Though I would imagine the Esoterist has already figured this out. Why didn’t you go to him?”
Emperor Rael’s expression darkened. “He repaid my commitment to protect to Esocline Federation by working hard to undo my efforts. By accelerating the World Bridge development, he purposefully shattered my stronghold on the Martial Sages of human civilization, leaving me with only half of them, while the other half has already returned home.”
