Chapter 522: Chapter 4 Undermining_3

The favored children of Lucas University, like Xu Du, never lacked for money. People like Ize, for instance, would even be too lazy to repair their equipment if it suffered too much damage, yet even damaged equipment was quite valuable.

As a Tard person, Ross had lived through the darkest of times and had even earned his own tuition fees. He hardly had any money on him.

However, Xu Mo wouldn’t feel sympathy for him at all.

This guy was incredibly sly.

The next day, with the help of a female student he knew, Xu Mo drafted an agreement and lent some of his exchanged assets to Ross in the form of an investment. However, the agreement stipulated that if they made a profit, he would take half of it after deducting costs, and if there was a loss, Ross would have to repay the debt in full.

If Ross cheated and got caught, he would have to pay more than ten times in compensation.

It was a tyrannical clause, but Ross signed it, grinding his teeth.

Life at the Library was extremely fulfilling.

People came to ‘spectate’ Xu Mo every day.

At the moment, he sat at a table reading a book, with Sorey beside him, who asked, “I’ve been chasing a girl recently, a local noble from Lucas Star. She doesn’t want anything, what does that mean?”

Xu Mo glanced at him and ignored him.

Was this guy getting addicted to it?

He could see now that, apart from throwing money around, Sorey had no other strategies. After the events of last time, who would dare to agree to him?

“Good brother.” Sorey pulled out a stack of interstellar coins and stuffed them into Xu Mo’s hand.

Xu Mo pocketed them and said, “Business image.”

“Business image?” Sorey asked, while Xu Mo continued to read.

Sorey showed an understanding look and then took out three more stacks and handed them over to Xu Mo.

“I’m not someone who’d betray their beliefs for interstellar coins, but seeing your dedication to love, I believe the Soray brothers are serious this time,” Xu Mo said as Zero curled her lip disdainfully on the side.

“Your pursuit of Ms. Isaien last time has left you with a bad image. Now, any girl with a bit of self-respect won’t accept your gifts any longer, otherwise… you get it, right?” Xu Mo looked at Sorey.

“So, how do I make amends?” Sorey understood what Xu Mo meant.

After all, this was Lucas University, and the female students here had some status of their own.

“You need to rebuild your image, which is to say, your business image. You can’t continue like before,” Xu Mo said.

“How do I rebuild it?” Sorey didn’t quite understand.

“For example, an image of a powerful Transcendent, or, of an extremely intelligent genius,” Xu Mo said.

“All I have is money,” Sorey complained dejectedly.

“Then create a business elite image,” Xu Mo suggested.

“I’m not very good at that. Odin Mountain Star’s resources have no lack of buyers; they all do interstellar business,” Sorey said.

“……,” Xu Mo expressed his envy.

“No matter, we’ll have an opportunity to collaborate in the future,” Xu Mo said. “We’ll do something grand and influential and change your image.”

Sorey looked at Xu Mo, then nodded and asked, “When do we start? Can we begin now?”

“Don’t rush it,” Xu Mo patted Sorey on the shoulder. “It’s a big deal; we’ll wait for the right moment.”

“Good, that’s what I’d expect from my brother Sorey,” Sorey said, and many people glanced their way, making Xu Mo feel his reputation was utterly ruined.

However, he liked this kind of brother, who was wealthy and bold.

He wondered when Byron Star would complete their research. In order to grow and expand, they needed to recruit collaborators; relying solely on Byron’s power was not enough.

“Xu Mo, I’m looking for mechanical books, do you have any recommendations?” A beautiful female student came over to ask. Zero lifted her head, and the girl immediately stopped advancing.

“Third floor, Section C, row five. You should find what you’re looking for there,” Xu Mo said casually. Lately, many people had been directly asking him for recommendations, which annoys him immensely.

The Library was too vast. Students used to have to search for books on their own, which was time-consuming and often fruitless, but there had been rumors that Xu Mo’s recommendations were always spot-on, drawing increasingly more people seeking his advice.

“Thank you, Xu Mo,” the girl said with a smile and even gave Zero a provocative look.

Zero didn’t bother with her.

“Xu Mo,” another voice called out, and Xu Mo looked up to see two figures approaching. It was Arthur and Yekaterina, whom he’d met for the first time at the Library.

“Ms. Yekaterina, Ms. Arthur,” Xu Mo called out.

“Xu Mo, do you take employment?” Yekaterina asked, looking at him.

“Employment?” Xu Mo looked back at her.

Zero lifted her head vigilantly, staring at Xu Mo.

“I already have an employer,” Xu Mo said weakly.

“Yekaterina Family can offer you better conditions, no matter what your previous salary was, I can pay ten times that,” Yekaterina said boldly, revealing the wealth and boldness characteristic of a member of the Carolan Star Royal Family, attempting to poach him right in front of Zero.

“Ten times, huh…” Xu Mo was somewhat tempted and asked Zero, “Can I work a part-time job?”

Zero, unable to tolerate it any longer, drew her sword.

“Just kidding!” Xu Mo shouted!
